Keep in mind you'll need to have a custom loop to use this.
Or you could try and hack some kind of AIO onto it.

Run some water from the tap through it and dump it into a bath. Perfect for winter.

$2k yeah nah, I’d rather play in 240p.

    • 120p with a GTX 1030 ftw

    • +2

Better than paying $2.7k. Retail prices are still increasing so this will be one of the cheapest for a while.

Or get the dell deal and harvest the GPU and sell the rest.

        • It's out of stock plus was already a 2 month wait. Completely different than something that's in stock and ready to go.

    • im using a 2060 which i got last year. couldn’t be more happier with its 1440p gaming performance

  • missed out.

Better to pay $700 more and get the whole 3080 system

Out of stock and it was already a 2 month wait when it was available. Plus that's a twin fan card.

  • I didnt realise this was waterforce and needed separate cooling.. damn. Anyone know cheapest way to add cooling to this card?

    • +2

      just buy used

      res&pump: $100
      360 radiator: $50
      Coolant: $20
      Fittings: $30-50
      Tubings: $30

      • Thanks I will need to get my head around what is involved. It looks like you know a bit about this. Would you recommend any brands or systems to stick with or avoid when looking?

    • You could probably resell this on Gumtree for $2500 and pick up an air cooled card from a scalper for around the same price.

      Or there's a Gigabyte 3080 in stock here for $2500. https://www.igamecomputer.com.au/products/a0138?_pos=5&_sid=…

      • Thanks for the advice, I will probably need to do this

    • AliExpress has Barrow water cooling gear which is cheapish

    • I'd recommend going EK and avoiding the stuff on AliExpress. Link for the EK Configurator below. I recommend cooling it with a custom loop because thwse things get hot and the heat it gives may cook your ram. I went custom loop with my 3080 and CPU and I haven't had a crash in demanding games since. Was getting frequent dev errors with the stock air cooling.

      • Im using all barrow fittings in mine and they are great. So many people think EK make good products, but in reality a lot of it is overpriced crap. HW Labs for rads, Watercool for blocks, Barrow for fittings, all these brands are good examples of products that crap over EK. They are quite often cheaper too. There are so many better options than EK out there.

  • Annnd it's gone.
Even the WB versions are OOS

    • +1

Wb versions aren't easy to get and are way over priced. U would be better off with a strix and getting a wb for it as I think the strix is better binned with higher power limits. Only problem is the waterblocks for custom cards are also hard to get. Expensive way of doing it but u would have a better card and have the option of air cooling when the card gets retired to a different system in the future

  • Any tips for getting a cheap 1050? I bought one of the $200 Dell Optiplex 9020s SFF, and would like to up a GPU in it if I can find one at a decent price. From what I can see a 1050 is around $250 new? Does that seem about right? Any tips for getting one cheaper somehow?

    • Wait 12 months. Hahaahh sorry I'm not helping. But seriously, no. Every gpu is insanely overpriced. See if a friend can give you his old one maybe?

    • If you need to game right now just buy an Xbox, even an old one sells for cheap , never thought I would recommend a console over PC to ppl but new gens at 750 are a steal

    • Any reason for the 1050 specifically? I have a spare EVGA 960 SC GAMING if you're interested? Seems to be a little faster overall https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-960-vs-Nvid…

      • needs a gpu that is of small form factor so it wont fit in the case and may not have the power to power it because they have like 300w max power supply in them

  • Never thought prebuilts would ever become more cost effective, but here we are.

    • Well just get a lower end card, you could pick up some here not long ago, 3080s have been hard to get from beginning, just get what you can and upgrade in a year's time

  • if ppl are willing to pay this crazy price for water cooled models then 6800 xt at $1900 if worth your look

    https://www.jw.com.au/asrock-rx-6800-xt-phantom-gaming-d-16g…

not saying its a deal but neither is this card at this price

    • actually, if it is instock for immediate delivery which it seems is, I would call it a deal.

      • in stock and its a great card - when i bought it at $1400 ppl were telling me Im mad….

    • I havent seen a 6800xt in stock for months and seeing one for under 2k at the moment id say is a deal.

      • I better make a listing of it ASAP

    • If only tensorflow works with this (I know there's ROCm but I don't think it supports 6000 series and is likely to be cr@p performance)

      • cuda is nvidia-only. For this reason, at the moment, nvidia is clearly superior for deep learning
