  • 4 + 4 gb soldered ram… that's a shame

One module is upgradeable by the sounds of it? You could upgrade to a total 12GB or 20GB

Would ruin the point of dual channel memory though…

        • +1

Pretty sure you can run mismatched dual channel. So 4 + 4 would be dual channel, the rest at a slower speed.

        • It will still run dual channel with different size modules (upto the point the soldered 4GB is filled).
Also, is there noticeable difference between single and dual channel outside of gaming?

    • It's actually awful in 2021

        Has the sun gotten brighter?

        • Screens have just improved far past this point :)

Props to it being a 1080p panel though… finally we are leaving 1366x768 budget territory.

          • @ozturtle: Laptop screens really improved during the last few years. Used to be able to see 768p tn panels, now the worsts are at least 1080p ips with 45nstc.
And a lot more are having a more sensible 1440p res/16:10/higher refresh rate/100 srgb even p3.

Yeah not great but I'm more forgiving on cheaper laptops.

    • in order to obtain results as stipulated by the Adobe RGB standard you should set your monitor’s brightness to 160 nits

  • Nice new ryzen chip let down by soldered ram why Lenovo

  • +2

Oh nooooo TN panel at 250 nits
    That's a display you'd find on a $300 laptop

  • No kids in high school yet so can't use 😭

  • 38 Wh battery, holy crap. That's awful. It's very rare to see a battery under 40Wh
