I'd rather invest it in bitcoins.

    • There's a discount on bitcoins?

what you do, is just go to Timezone and find free games. Kids are there for birthday parties and that, and they swipe their cards heaps of times on machines and play once and walk off

  • Can credit on the card be used to pay for parties in any way?
    It's $25pp for the party.
It says gameplay credit so I assume not

    • Not for parties. Only for games.

  • Only lasts for a bit over a week.

Gee I remember complaining when Dragon's Lair came out in the 80's and they wanted 50 cents per game…

    • +3

Yeah, see in my town, we had Kevin Costner's Water World.

      • +3

If climate change continues we'll all have Kevin Costner's Water World soon

        • Climate change on Mars got all the water to disappear… Earth doesn't want to follow the same pattern.

          • @RSmith: Good point, Mad Max is the correct reference.

  • Wow that's more than I have spent at Timezone over the last 10 years…

Stick with the standard $26 for an hours gameplay. The cards can be tapped every minute (regardless if the current game continues) onto the same or different machine so one card between 2/3 people is usually more than adequate.

    60 Minutes for $26*
All you can play RED card reader games (ticket games)
All you can play YELLOW card reader games (standard games)
    1 x Feature Game
2 x PURPLE card reader games (prize games)
    300 Pre-loaded Powertickets

Unless you love the prize machines (even pokies pay out better!) you'd save more on this option. You can only throw so many basketballs, play airhockey and virtual racing before it becomes a bit of a bore.

You cannot play Midnight Tune / InitialD / DDR with $26 per hour gamecard AFAIK.

Be careful with that trick, as per their TnC, its 1 card per person.

I got made doing that for my little kids.

The card got paused and had to talk to them at the counter, then they give u a warning, before completely cancelling the card.

      • Don't make it obvious. So far the way I am doing it is I am playing the game but the kids take over.

        • of course, just caution that's all, I got told once out of like the 20 times we been there, using the same trick.

For older kids playing more popular games I understand, but back when that happen my kids were still small.
They were playing those random games similar to carnival ones.
Even the ticket ones, u don't accumulate tickets with that offer, so it's not like they are losing money.

      • This is what I've done every time with my daughter and never had any dramas. I'd enjoy seeing the teen employee lecture me though. (At my store at least, they don't care)

Actually get yourself an extra 20% by buying KingPin GiftCard at Costco (Costco Ringwood VIC is the best place because next to it is Eastland which does have Timezone) and that $100 becomes $80 for $180. More than 100% benefit!

    • Are the 20% off Kingpin Gift Cards always available at Costco or is it a special promotion? Thanks for your time.

  • Weird, I just checked on google maps and there's a Timezone near crown casino (VIC) on 8 Whiteman St (and it even says its open now until 2am tomorrow), but the timezone website doesn't have it listed

Has anyone been to this one?

EDIT: turns out this is kingpin but for some reason it's labelled as timezone on google maps…?

    • +1

Yes this is Timezone at crown

  • If it were valid longer I'd buy it for my daughter's birthday in December.

    • Credit lasts for 12months I think, or it expires if you havent used in 12 months.

      • Oh really? I misunderstood. That's cool I will get one in that case.
