I try to use TheFork since Opentable doesn't offer anything
Eatclub is a better App with way more options. Maybe not as high a standard restaurant though
do i need to tell the 16 year old LOTE staff that i want to redeem my yum points. Im sure that will be a smooth conversation
Just a heads up to everyone to wish to use Yum for a free meal. The Fork's loyalty discount is very badly built. I have been visiting a number of (already very limited) restaurants honouring Yum loyalty discount
One of them rejected the loyalty discount outright - saying he hasn't heard of the word 'Yum', made me sound a beggar trying to justify my loyalty discount but end up paying full price on the spot
I then learn that I need to ring up the restaurant and confirm before visiting. The second time I use it, the restaurant says they accept Yum, but takes ages to process it in their system - it's another awkward experience standing at the cashier like a weirdo…Do you mind saying which was the first restaurant so i can avoid it or even report them.
I personally don't care but I clarify at the start they have accepted my reservation through the Fork and hence they should know about the discount. I would simply just walk out if they hadn't heard about the discount (although i'd contact the Fork as otherwise the yums are actually gone?) and frankly that is why you are trying the restaurant because it is on the Fork and they've gotten you through the door by using the Fork so why should you feel ashamed, if they make an issue about it I just think they were shameful enough to take the advertising without providing the benefit and i don't go to restaurants to impress the staff. You're only are in a vulnerable position if the bill is at the end. I have used my Yums without issue at Nevsky Russian Restaurant in Melbourne, didn't have to ask for the discount and i got to try Russian cuisine for the first time and would gladly go back.If youre in melbourne havent mad a problem at meat and wine co. Always go alone and just grab a steak once i have 50 of points. The indian guy at the south yarra store sometimes acts a bit cranky but always honours it.
Does everyone use opentable and thefork or just one?
