  • Gourmet? I'm fairly sure a gourmand uses a cheap cast iron pan that is well-seasoned and never washed.

Plebs like me use a $5 non-stick pan from Ikea, which does perfect omelettes, and gets replaced every few years because we are careless and scratch it.

I do like the metal handle on the Tefal, so you can put it straight in the oven after searing the meat.

i thought you cant put non-stick pans into the oven?

      • Teflon is fine at normal oven temperatures, but can be damaged if too hot on the cooktop.
I normally use olive oil, which smokes before it gets hot enough to damage the Teflon.

    • I hope Ikea still sells $5 pan

Retired chef here. I use both. The Tefals are really decent for certain things. Basically anything high in acid, don't cook it on cast iron.

Made in China or France I wonder?

    The 26cm has been 24.50 previously (6 months ago…)
I love it - best frypan I've ever owned. I'd get the bigger one but its $124…

    • I have the 28cm Tefal as well as a 28cm Scanpan which costs 4x as much. The Tefal does the same job.

  • Not that cheap for the 26cm, since the 30cm is normally around $42

Matching clearance price at Big W, but they don't seem to have much stock.

I bought one of these about 2 years ago (the larger one) and it’s still perfect, looks brand new even. Highly recommend, better than $100 pans

    • Do you hand wash it or use dishwasher?

    • I have a Tefal and Scanpan and agree.

  • These are pretty good pans.
I use it as my daily pan, will last 1-2 years before you need a new one.

    • Yes, they've been cheaper before - but I'm buying another (26cm) at this price.

My 'daily driver' too and in use for 18 months - only just starting to show the signs of abuse - and still fully functional. Goes from stovetop to oven and the cooking surface is still in good shape. Well worth the extra few dollars over other short-lived non-stick pans.

And yes, I've worked in some pretty serious kitchens - these Tefal pans work well without the maintenance issues that come with iron pans that don't get the constant use of a commercial kitchen.

      Buy, use, enjoy.

  • Cheers OP needed a new pan after scratching another 26cm one.

Highly recommend the 26cm too, spent years with cheap pans and this thing makes cooking in it so damn good

  • Still rocking the pans from this deal. Very happy with them.

This seems to be a good deal if it suits your needs and you can find stock:

    Tefal Daily Cook Set

$59.40, use code WELCOME10 on new accounts for $10 off (can use same address/phone number as existing accounts)

Selling for $220+ elsewhere even though it says it's normally $99

    26cm frypan
    24cm stewpot
    20cm stewpot
    16cm saucepan
    5 x cooking utensils

    • Nice one Miss B, you should post this as a deal by itself!

      Daily Cook 28cm $19.75

      Daily Cook 30cm $22.25

The daily cooks are non-stick with titanium rather than anodised.

      • Is that better?

        • Titanium coating is supposed to last longer, however, I suspect it's probably more marketing than anything really. I have hard anodised pans I have used for years and years that are going strong so it's more or less about how you take care of your cookware.

I have gone through all the usual Tefal/Circulon/Anolon pans but have found the IKEA 365+ range to be as good (if not better) and even more durable than those popular brands.
