    Nothing about previous customers ?

From one of the world's grottiest companies comes… Credit cards.

I'm still on this from the Black Friday sale where it was spend $x, get $x in Kogan Credit..it is decent value whereby it's a free card and for every dollar you spend on the card, you get one cent of credit and a Kogan First membership.

    • I agree, this is a decent credit card, it is my main go to card.

  • Added benefit it's accepted by Indian YouTube premium and Argentinian Netflix.

    • Elaborate?

      • Search Netflix or YouTube premium on here and it'll come up. Basically cheap ytm or Netflix by setting it up in another country.

    • Does it work for Turkey Netflix? Argentina tax is killing it.

      • Not sure but will find out in a few weeks once I let it expire. Fingers crossed.

      So are most credit cards

Beware they have no phone customer service, and KoganMoney app can be a lot of pain to use.
Also when it comes time to cancel your card make sure they've cancelled it as in my case and I'm sure many others they tell you it's cancelled and it's really not.

  • Is this a good credit card?
    Is it worth having?

  • Are there exceptions to what you can use the $400 for? E.g. Certain brands

  • That credit card is very designed for you to overspend on Kogan, much better cards out there!

Looks like I'll forgo the $400 to save $1500.

  • I've done the $500 card twice, easy shopping money.
Silly of them not to put a 12 month wait period for old customers, tempted to jump in again.
No restrictions on what you can spend it on for experience,

    • so you just got the bonus and cancel the card right away? or you just cancel when the new promo is back and apply again?

      • I try to cancel straight away usually, first card I kept a little longer then cancelled after having for 9 months. Then a few weeks later reapplied when another $500 deal came up. Second card I cancelled immediately after spending the $500.

        • but you will lost Kogan First membership once cancel.

          • @samehada: Seems to work for a year after, used it last week and cancelled 2nd card in January.

          • +2

@samehada: I also seem to have Kogan First still on my account.

            STATUS: ACTIVE
Ended on: Invalid Date/Invalid Date/Invalid Date

Closed my credit card just over a month ago.

            • @coxymla: Is the card easy to close??

              • @fritzsticker: Yes, everyone lets you close CC online these days.
Although see the comment above about them not really cancelling it…
(I have not checked my credit so can't confirm or deny)

            • +1

@coxymla: maybe this discussion should be deleted :)

    • wow, just read the fine print, nothing about 12 month waiting period for past customers. nice
may have another go then. cheers op

  • Does this card support google pay?

    • Don't think it did

  • +2

I got this card during the $500 credit offer and 1 year BT offer. Was easy money and if you can find something of value on Kogan it effectively gives a 1% return on everything. Points are instant upon purchase as well. Has become my main points earning card now.

  • Thanks OP. I've applied and conditionally approved. Can anyone please tell me how long it took for the card to come in the mail after approval?

  • About a week

  • first rejection after 4-5years of credit card churning.
possibly because i already have a citibank issued credit card.

  • I tried to apply yesterday. When I clicked "apply", an error came up. This happened many times. I just tried again today (26 April), the $400 credit is showing only at $300. Any clue?

    • I have just chatted with them and the operator said: "You should still get the $400 credit. We will have that requested once the application has been approved.". So I guess you should submit your application today in order to get the $400 credit.

  • That's what they told me too but what evidence do I have if I have to chase that up? So far, I am onlyl relying on what is being said in this forum. Any clue? I gave them my email address asking them for a confirmation of what they said but they would not do that.

    • I forgot to save the online chat which can be used as evidence I think.

  • Does Kogan charge a forex or international transaction fee for Paypal payments?

    • After my application is approved, I received an email with the following as regard to international transaction fees, though not sure about Paypal:

      International Transaction Fee

We charge you an International Transaction Fee of 3.4%, debited to your Account on the Transaction Date, of which a service and assessment fee of 1% is payable by us to Visa, for any Retail Purchase or Cash Advance transaction in:

foreign currency once converted to Australian dollars; and/or
Australian dollars (or any other currency), when either the merchant or its financial institution/payment processor is located or registered overseas, including transactions that involve dynamic currency conversion (that is where a transaction denominated in a foreign currency is converted to local currency which is a service that is offered by certain ATMs and merchants). The process of conversion and the exchange rates applied will be determined by the relevant ATM, merchant or dynamic currency conversion service provider as the case may be. We do not determine whether a Card transaction will be converted into local currency by the merchant or ATM and you may have to check with the relevant merchant or ATM provider.

Note: It may also not always be clear that the merchant or its financial institution/payment processor is located or registered outside Australia.

  • down to $300 credit value now…

  • Anyone know how long it gets to get the credit? The t&c say 8-10 weeks. But curious if quicker in real life

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of the original $400 offer? They only gave me a $300 credit and are claiming that was the offer at the time…

  • Anyone know if we can close the credit card and keep the credit?

  • Commenting re-enabled.

  • I applied for the CC on 17/8 and i just got the $400 kogan credit today 7/9.

so even if they say it can take up to 10 weeks, it could be sooner.
Wondering what to get to make use of the $400 credit plus kogan-first membership before i cancel the card lol

  • Just noticed this deal has actually expired, the terms differ (You get a $50 Credit with an eligible Spend within 30 days of card approval, then $350 (the rest of the bonus) is given after you spend $1.5K within 90 days). Please continue the discussion on the deal posted on July
