Useless, people who dropped junk mail don’t care with this sign.

    • +9

I suppose you could stick these over the mail slot?

    • +10

Yes they do. Junk mail drastically reduced
for me after I put one on

    • +6

This is why you gotta get two, so they get the message

    • I put one of these on my mail box many years ago (this one for sale looks identical). It still looks like new and I only get junk mail from the local church and filthy real-estate agents. Very much worth it.

  • +6

I contacted my local council and they gave me a bunch of no junk mail stickers for free.

I still occasionally get junk mail but there's definitely been a noticeable reduction.

    • Are they stainless steel plaques by any chance? Or just plastic/perspex

      • +1

It's a sticker. But it gets the job done.

I got 50 for my apartment complex and stuck it on everyone's mailbox. The environmental impact is substantial in the long run and no one's removed theirs so I figure at least we're saving paper if they print less.

        • Thanks

        • You dictate to tenants what they can and can't receive in their mailbox?

          • +1

@ozbargainer666: They're free to remove it, it's not permanent.

I always see junk mail thrown on the ground and that frustrates me. It's been over a year since I put those stickers up and not a single unit has removed it.

I think by default junk mail should be blocked and people who want it can opt in. Unfortunately the current system is the other way around.

or just use a permanent marker and write it out

      • That's what I did (over a faded metal sign) - but fades quicky & no one takes any notice. So gave up on signs.

      • Eww plastic and a thank you. Mail boxes need not be friendly.

    • +1

      that's not stainless steel..is it?

      • Nope, but it gives the same message.. which will likely be ignored anyway!

Why would a letterbox need 2 signs?
    Isn't 1 of these effective??

    • +3

You see, having two on your mailbox lets them know you're serious 😅

      • +1

Replaced mine with a Watch out for Vicious Dog sign 😄

What my life would be without junk mails.

I wouldnt mind putting up "No real estate Junk" on my mail box.

    • +2

The real estate ones agreed are the worst. And I see so much of it blown around the street, so much litter.

This deal reminded me to 3D print a NO JUNK MAIL sign.

  • +2

I'm flyer delivery man and I hate this. But I would buy one for my house.

    • +2

And I love townhouses so much

      • Haha I used to deliver too… You'd get to a 20 unit block and be like "YES".

  • +5

    i love junk mail

One for the Gmail on my computer and one for the same gmail account on my phone?

  • From the internet…
selling "No Junk Mail" stickers for our physical letterbox…
So what will help with being Spammed?

  • is there one that says 'smile for the camera'?

  • +2

Actually quite amazed how well putting such a sticker on the letterbox worked in our area. Used to get tons of catalogues and papers that all went straight to the recycle bin. These days we get one or two from realestate agents a month and that’s all.

    • Are you sure it's due to the sign?

Catalogues etc were stopped in my area of Qld since Covid. So now almost no junk mail in any letterboxes. Quite a change!

      • The sign went up about 9 years ago, so slightly predating the first known Covid-19 case.

  • Lots of local councils send the stickers free of charge. Call your council

'NO JUNK MAIL' written on a piece of paper and taped to the letterbox will be just as effective as this. Which is not very effective.

Here's a tip, ring the Real Estate Agency/Agencies that are ultimately responsible for these bloody flyers and give it to 'em verbally….don't hold back.I did it and solved the problem.

    • Didn't work with my local real estate agents. Repeatedly receive fliers & calls - ignoring strongly worded requests not to.

With high turn over of staff eager for a sale - new staff repeat the annoyance. They see it as their "right" to be able to contact anyone.

Neighbour rang the Police it was so bad - didn't stop them. Another was thrown out of their office for his abusive language. Didn't stop them. They kept trying to get him to sell.

When they are selling in local area, junior agents pop fliers in all letterboxes. They have no idea if you've told them not to. They're only interested in their commission.

But another neighbour has stopped them visiting - he answers the door naked & asks them in for sex (according to an agent I know)!

      • Start taping them to the doors/windows of the realestate company.
