    I really like the built in tamper on this one to reduce mess but all the research I've done points to the Breville

    Delonghi product reviews look horrible in comparison to the Breville if that’s anything you can go off at first glance. There seems to be some consistent design issue with the wiring and drip tray on the Delonghi leaking.
    Aside from being more popular and easier to find replacement parts for, Barista express also has more aftermarket accessories.

      I had drip tray problems. They sent out a redesigned one for free and I haven't had the problem since. I assume they ship the new ones with the redesign.

      Built in tamper is the best for avoiding mess.

    this uses a crap tiny basket

    yes it has auto tamper. but at that point might as well go fully automatic

  I have one of these and like it. Haven't had any issues except water spilling onto the counter top maybe 3 times in 2 years or so. Was never able to figure out if it was a full drip tray or some kind of leak. Otherwise it's been good.
