the 'base' is what straps around the pole leading to the seat of the bicycle, the light then slips into the u shaped grip (angle adjustable and tightened by the screw/bolt) and can be easily removed for when it's not needed or to replace the batteries (or to prevent theft).
These lights are pretty much all the same and I'm fairly sure can be had for $5.95ish from target as I grabbed one last winter on the way home when I needed it (worked late / got dark).

Yep. I took them off because item was from US warehouse. Aus cannot buy it. So no point leaving it up there. It's just gonna confuse others more

Just did some quick searching around for reviews. Seems to be decent but it appears it gets overloaded easily (which is not for me). I'd suggest others do the same. It's probably ok for light use but probably not ok for heavy use.
