I have been keeping an eye on the price waiting for it to drop at all for this beginner keyboard.
Only in the past few months did they start selling it from the Australian Amazon store instead of the USA one where it is always out of stock, its good to finally buy it.
Regarded as one of the best beginner keyboards for its price range and has the full 88 keys.
Reviews are positive.

Semi Weighted keys.. Not really a "Piano" in that perspective. Would recommend going for a fully weighted keys if you are looking for a digital piano, even for beginners.

    • Thanks, Do you have any specific models in mind ?

Try and get the Casio Privia series when they have the discounts drops to around $800ish or so for the entry model. There are cheaper brands like Korg that have full weighted keys, but just find Casio probably more natural overall.

BTW. weighted keys will transfer a piano student over to a "real" (analogue) piano without any problems. Non or semi weighted keys will mean they need to re-train on the weight and how hard / fast to press for a note.

        • 100% correct, but the price range is pretty high for the better keyboards, and anything under $500 isn't going to get you a the full 88 keys.
I was going to go for a yamaha 61 keyboard but when this dropped in price it seemed perfect.

@Zidago: No. But if you are going to go that price range, there are still some options like a Korg B2

            https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Korg-B2-88-Note-Digital-Piano-Bl…

Which is $549 delivered currently on ebay with the coupon code PLUSSS1.

At least it is a better known brand and it is properly weighted. For the $130 difference, it's a no brainer to go with this one instead.

            • @bchliu: Is the korg 2 better than this one?

              Roland GO:Piano88 Digital Piano

              https://www.roland.com/au/products/gopiano_go-88p/

              • @Dienk: Korg is better. Roland is a good brand, but this one is only "semi weighted" keys and is velocity sensed as opposed to weighted keys with pressure sense. Basically it's only a synth and not a true digital piano.

@bchliu: Thanks mate. Your comment made me decide to buy a digital piano. I was learning keyboard but there was many content I don't want to learn and it was part of the course (pop music, etc). One day I played a real piano and I got sad: not even could not play it as I did with the keyboard as well as I felt the key weight was a big deal. many thanks.

                • @bchliu: Sorry for abuse your knowledge. I have a chance to grab one these for a cheaper price

                  https://www.pianotime.com.au/products/casio-cdp130-digital-p…

                  Is it good?

                  • @Dienk: The CDP is an entry model for Casio and placed under the Privia series (basically same piano but with less functionality). It does use the weighted hammer action, so it's about as close as you get to a real piano that way. It only supports a single pedal damper though (as is the others previously described), so just bear that in mind.

If you can get it for under that $499 price, then it's a real bargain..

        • Can confirm. I got an LK 125 from Facebook marketplace to learn. After months, I found out it sounds very different when I play on an actual piano and I have to relearn everything now

          • @ccir: Edit: Wrong person

      • That do you think of the pro model with the hammer action keys?

        • Go the Korg as per my reply above. Known brand and seller.

          • @bchliu: Hmm weird it shows as +$100 dlivery

            • @BlitzR: hmm.. I have ebay plus - but checked without logging in and shows $599 + "free postage" (without the discount code).

              • @bchliu: That's weird. I have plus also and its shows $100posted to 4000

                • @BlitzR: Not sure unless it's $100 outside of NSW? Have a look around on Ebay for the other stores that stock them too. They're all within $30 of each other in pricing so maybe better luck with another store that stocks the Korg unit?
