yeah, "don't do it" - I tried to get one last year for an xmas present, after a month I canceled the order and got it from kmart same day! So unless you don't have a kmart near by, avoid
FWIW, I ordered a Canvas last year as an Xmas gift and it arrived within two weeks and looked great (relative to the price and my photography skills…)

My boss had an Adele mug.. so I recreated it with my face and switched the mugs to see if she noticed. Took her half a day and then scared her half to death when she noticed. Totally worth the money.

I wanted to put some movie posters up, due to not being able to find correct size, and ridiculous prices it was cheaper to by a printer, frames and do it myself.

FYI: I got one of these last times this deal was going. My recommendation: don't bother. Getting the photo to work with the mug dimensions using the Aust Post "tool" was a pain in the a%s. Fortunately I've got Photoshop so did a bunch of my own tinkering (spent way too much time) to, in my mind, get it right and prevent it stretching. However, when I received the mug the quality of the image was terrible.
the last time i got one of the shirts done, it literally came with the text "your photo here" printed on the shirt too…..so I will pass
I can recommend this. I got a custom mug for a person I was seeing at the time. She later broke it off with me, saying I was moving too fast, that she wanted to keep it casual. But I think we can safely say this was despite, not due to, the custom mug.

I have a photo that is only enough to cover one side of a mug.
The rendition of the mug with the photo doesn’t indicate whether the other side will be just white space or also repeats the photo.
Does anyone know if it does?
