Hi, whats the rating the charger you are using to power this hub? I'm just going to use this on the Gtv with keyboard, mice and RJ45. Wondering if I need to get >60W or 20W will suffice. Thank you

      • 4K @ 30Hz though, not ideal…

        • That’s when you connect external hdmi into the hub. The CCwGTV is not connecting to the hdmi port of the hub.

    • How do you use one of these hubs for Chromecast? Do you plug in the Chromecast to the HDMI slot? I thought that HDMI was output only.

        • So you want to use this hub to power the Chromecast w/ Google TV and have ethernet connection?

          • @lomie: Don’t really care about Ethernet, more so to connect external storage for things like emulators and expanding available local storage.

            • @itsmehuey: But you were asking about Chromecast initially.

              • @lomie: I don't think you actually understand what I was asking.. The Chromecast with Google TV doesn't need to use ethernet connection and I never mentioned ethernet in my OP. The hub will obviously have to power the Chromecast as the power adapter will be plugged into the hub, and then the Chromecast will be plugged into the hub and powered via PD. I do not have a need for the ethernet and just want to be able to add external storage to it.

                • @itsmehuey: Yes I don't because I didn't think the Chromecast had that capability of adding external storage. Hence the questions. The reddit link had ethernet connection and no other indication for plugging in storage. So I was trying to figure out what your use case is. It makes sense now.

        • Thanks for the clarification and links - very helpful.

The reddit link talks about using ethernet through the hub and I read elsewhere that CCwGTV-ethernet may perform better than CCwGTV-wifi when the broadband connection is slow. CCwGTV seems like a very flexible device.

          • @Dinjay: You're welcome!

My WIFI is fast enough and also my CCwGGTV is connected to my TV in the living room where as my router is in my office, so I didn't want to drag a long ethernet cable from the office to the living room lol.

I don't think the ethernet makes any diff in performance if the connection of your broadband service is degraded. The broadband service is ultimately the bottleneck.

        I use it like this.
The one I purchased may be overkill but it wasn’t much more then the cheaper version and I thought I would future proof my purchase.

Just followed the video below and used the above link for the dongle.
