2KG Chiasso Coffee Beans $35 Delivered from Harvey Norman Big Buys

16

Chiasso Coffee Roasters was established in Brisbane, Australia by Bevan and Jeanette Sands. The aim of the venture was to provide freshly roasted gourmet coffee to the increasingly discerning coffee drinking public, in a way that would create a point of difference. These aims were achieved by creating an identity in the market place by way of unsurpassed quality and presentation.

Under the guidance of a master roaster in Monza, Italy, Chiasso has developed its own distinct blends of coffee, using only the finest beans from around the world.

This BiG BUY brings you 2kg (single package) of Chiasso's Milano blend for just $25 + $10 max delivery anywhere in Australia! Chiasso describe this blend as "typical of the northern Italian style of roasting (medium-dark rather than a true dark roast). This promotes the full flavour characteristics and body of the beans and a chocolate undertone".

Our in house coffee lovers here at BiG BUYS hand picked this blend from over five premium blends available to us and we hope you enjoy it. The beans were roasted in April 2011 and vacuum sealed to provide the best possible coffee experience.

"Roasted in April 2011"….."best possible coffee experience". Hmm, I would think these are mutually exclusive in January 2012 :)

I'm going to neg this, because it is patently false that these old beans will deliver the best possible coffee experience. Don't blow smoke up my …. and call it cafe latte.

  • this is coming up as $10 + postage for me. So pretty good for 2KG…. although as the others say, some old beans.

these beans are not fit for consumption - seriously, 9 month old beans?

coffee beans start to degrade about 3 weeks after roasting, vacuum packed or not

  • It's interesting that the aim of Chiasso Coffee Roasters was "………. to provide freshly roasted gourmet coffee to the increasingly discerning coffee drinking public..". Not sure how selling April 2011 coffee in Jan 2012 achieves that aim.

Yeah seriously if you're gonna pay for old beans, Might as well wait for the Victoria Coffee BOGOF sale that comes around every few months. Thats 25bucks pickup

  • Not worth it for free.. /gags

  • 9 Months Old Chiasso Coffee - For the not-so-discerning coffee drinking public.

Another fine product, gifted** to you by the fine folks at Hardly Normal.

    ** Charges apply

  • old and not even worth it for postage cost only. Only buy beans roasted within the last month at the most..

  • Wonder if Gerry Harvey would ever drink this crap

  • "provide the best possible coffee experience" - well the best possible from 9 months old beans is VERY average at best.

They should aim these at the NON discerning coffee drinking public.

  • Why not buy green coffee beans and roast at home on demand?

If you're already buying roasted beans you basically have everything you need to take the next step and home roast with a regular electric/gas oven. I get 99% even roasts from preheated gas oven, but you can use almost anything to roast (eg. electric oven, toaster oven, skillet/wok/pan, pop-corn popper).

    Pros:
    1. Freshest coffee possible (I roast 500g every two weeks; 20mins in the oven @~200c and you're done).
    2. Control over roast profile (lighter roasts preserve unique origin flavours, none of that 'espresso' dark roast junk).
    3. Quality and/or Cheap beans (~$10-$15/kg single origin/organic/natural processed green beans, $5/kg for robusta beans).
    4. Green beans don't go stale/oxidize, can be stored for year(s).

We even have a local green bean supplier in Brisbane, this is where I get beans from (not affiliated, just a happy customer):
