It appears that these vouchers are now being released by local government areas.

Dine & Discover NSW is being rolled out through March 2021. Throughout each week, vouchers will become available in more and more Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Use the Dine & Discover NSW Voucher address check to see if you can apply for the vouchers.

Every NSW resident aged 18 and over will be eligible for four $25 vouchers worth $100 in total. The vouchers can be used at participating NSW businesses who are registered as COVID safe.

The Dine & Discover NSW vouchers will be divided into two categories:

  • two $25 vouchers to be used for eating in at restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays.
  • two $25 vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues, available 7 days a week, excluding public holidays.

  • Can I sit down and get my uncle to shout me lunch using his $25 voucher? As an international student, i am not eligible for such prestige, hence the plan is to leech. Will the participating restaurant enquires the whereabout of my dine voucher?

Simply put, can a table of 2 or more people enjoy 1 x $25 voucher? Is this permitted or prohibited?

    • +1

Yes, he can shout you with his voucher. He has to spend the full voucher in one go, they are getting reimbursed by the government so don't care.

      • one of the rules was only dine in, i wonder how the government keeps track if the voucher was used for dine and not takeaway

        • No idea, most restaurants aren't giving out receipts as a result of this. I used my voucher and didn't get any receipt.

Furthermore, you are allowed to split the payment across many users for a single bill as in the T&Cs. So that single bill could be several users and you can allocate a bill that was paid with cash to another user.

You can also get a refund for a cash bill if you paid during the period it was available under clause 4.10

Therefore, it doesn't even need to correlate to any actual receipt at any time.

      Why are you not eligible?

      Are you a NSW resident?

  • +5

Apparently NSW government changed the rules again so you can now use your vouchers on public holidays.

    • Yeah, it's crazy. I believe the next change will be takeaway is permitted.

I still haven't found a way to use my discover vouchers yet, but I noticed nothing in the terms and conditions forbids us from using it at food at the "Registered Business" which is a discover business. e.g. Food at the 10-pin bowling club.

I also see nothing that stops them from having complimentary snacks for a 2 hour session or something… lol.

or a gift bag with a tour under:

7.4 In addition to the conditions in clause 7.1, all payments to a Registered Business by DCS/Service NSW as reimbursement for goods or services provided in exchange for a Discover NSW Voucher are made on the condition that:

    Great weekend to… Code…?

Should i do something similar to Uskompuf and plot everything on a map?

I should be able to schedule everything and keep the map up to date? (with a ~24h cache)

But it'll have the same issue with some businesses that don't provide a lat/lon on their listings…

  • Any good ideas for the discover portion all i can find are cinemas but a go kart place might be nice

  • May i ask, if 2 people dine in in the same table can both use one of their voucher each to pay total bill?

  • How to I claim the one from last year that gave $50?

  • Is there some sort of new $25 x 4 vouchers being given out to use for Friday lunches to lure office workers?

Been seeing a few people posting this but it was taken down by mods due to insufficient details.

Yes; more info should be out on Tuesday when state budget is announced

NSW Dine and Discover program extended to August and now include takeaway services

    Source: 7 News

    • THANKS! I'm glad we got another small extension

    • same.. the desperado move will be cinema….. i know i know.. with covid and things….

      • -1

Same! Ha ha! I have $100 left.

        • How do you have $100 of Discover vouchers left when each eligible person received 2 $25 vouchers?

          • -1

@kerfuffle: Maybe husband wife they always say as one after marriage. Your house is my house says the wife. But your work i cant help…..

            • @CyberMurning: Lol, why the neg for me and ChiMot?

              Ignorant trolls live behind screens.

@kerfuffle, just like ChiMot says, the OH and mine combined. I took my aged neighbor to Service NSW (single, alone, no car) and got them the coupons too!

  • No word on another extension given most of NSW will still be in lockdown after 31st August? Or has the govt given up on this?

    • Too busy with contact tracing

  • Haven’t been able to use any of my vouchers yet, which is showing up as expiring on 31st Aug.

Is it worth holding out or use them now?

    • +1

im sure they will extending again.
if you have the dine, just use it for take away, easy peasy
      the discovery is harder

      • With the Dine one, most of the places that offer the double up promo are closed, in particular the Australian Venue Co. ones :(

        • +1

well, just enjoy single 25 it is free anyway….. i thought you like full price ? :D

          • @CyberMurning: All sarcasms aside, this is Ozbargain after all. Everyone’s looking to maximise their bargains! :)

    Just announced today:

As part of his second economic recovery package, this morning the Premier announced the popular "Dine and Discover" vouchers would make a return.

Another two $25 vouchers will be issued to all NSW residents over the age of 18 — one for dining and one to use in 'discover' venues which include cinemas, theatres, museums and many recreational activities.

The initial program was used by 4.8 million people and injected $430 million into businesses.

The second instalment will cost the government $250 million and will be launched in December through the Service NSW app.
