  • Grabbed one !

  • This doesn't look like it provides much air flow. Very tempted, but worried about the heat being trapped where the fans are at the back.

    • Good point will upside down do the trick ?

      • I thought about that too, but then you would need to fully take it out and open the lid to turn it on (if you shutdown your mac)(Not a problem if it sleeps all the time though). I've seen other ones that are raised to allow for fan ventilation. I know my fans can get pretty hot when im on photoshop so i'm worried about the heat just circulating at the bottom. Would really like one of these though.

    • Yep, most laptops now has airflow designed to flow through the keyboard so best to keep it open.

  • Do you think I could use it upside down on the top edge of my TV to stand my Android TV box/Apple TV box?

    • You want to put a laptop or similar into something made out of propylene plastic and designed to hold napkins?
Air flow, yes. Robust and fit for pupose, not so sure.
But hey, if you are willing to give it a go :)

It holds my 15 inch brick from 2010 fine.

      • Used that napkin holder for years for my ancient MacBook Air 13. Works fine.

I'm confused. This is really just a convenient way to store the laptop and phone/tablet when NOT in use? Or am I missing something?

    • +1

      Yes, that's right.

Some ppl may put working laptops vertically, maybe next to the external monitor, to save desk space.

    • A laptop does not need to be open to work

  • Was thinking to get one but I've heard that using the laptop closed can damage the screen due to heat radiating off the keyboard/underneath, any thoughts on this?

    • Have been using my laptop closed for close to 4 years with a dual external screen setup. It's nothing special. One of the HP elite business laptops. Usually work a 9 to 10 hour day. Screen works fine when I need to be mobile.

    • Office full of Lenovo laptops and they are almost always used in this way as we have docking stations that connect to multiple monitors. Never had an issue.

I have a setup at home as well and can go weeks without ever opening the laptop as it just travels between office and home and is docked every time.

  • No issues with Dells either but, anyway, I would test, it may depend on the make/model.

  • its literally a napkin holder
