  • it wont accept my payment, seems the bank is rejecting it. tried cc and paypal.

  • I can only get the 6/128 pro version down to 263.40 USD with the 2021OOTD5 coupon (5usd) and the 25usd seller coupon, as it only allows me to apply one of those.

Is that the lowest I can go?

Adding 10aud from the Westpac exchange rate, it's already 367.15 and it starts feeling like it's not worth it for something bought with so much risk.

  • who is the seller btw? it shows hongkong goldway in my cart.

    • +1

I think it's Hong Kong goldway

      • I've bought from them before multiple times. Had no issues before.

  • Best price I can get the Pro 6gb/128gb Grey is $351.11 AUD.
Store coupon ($32.91) and coupon code 2021OOTD5 ($6.58) included.
Seems to me GST is added as opposed to op post stating GST included…

    • +1

Price in title is for the 6GB + 64GB Note Pro which includes GST. Appears 64GB has now sold out, only 128GB left.

      • Well that makes sense 😂
Silly me was thinking the 6gb/128gb version.

    • +1

      OP's pricing is for the lowest cost model (6gb + 64gb) whereas you choose the 6gb + 128gb model. There's also a 8gb + 128gb model.

      • Had a quick search for differences between 6gb and 8gb and general consensus is that the user won't even tell the difference. So that's why I got the 6gb. Not worth the $50 difference

        • +1

Yeah I liked the blue which only came in 8gb so got that. Had black phones all my life so wanted something different lol

  • any other seller close to this price? my bank just will not process either cc or paypal payment.

  • So where on the AliExpress account should I see this order. I went through the checkout at 7pm, received the Cashrewards tracking email and can see the payment on my credit card. But I can't see any reference of the purchance in the Ali account. Didn't even get a order confirmation or invoice email from them. Is this weird (seems it) or nothing to be worried about yet.

    • It should be listed in Account under My Orders.

      • Yeah, weird. No idea what has happened there then. Did you order one, and can you see yours?

        • No I didn't order. It should definitely be listed under my orders in your account. I suggest sending the seller a message to find out what's happened.

          • @adr8: Cheers, chatting with AliExpress now.

            • +1

@surfingboyo: My order is listed under "my orders" & I received a confirmation email as well.

              • +1

@sinners007: All sorted. In my frenzy to login with my glitchy phone I clicked on the Google quick login instead of the normal account login. So my order is on there if I login with the same method.

  • I tried to select any of the three remaining combinations in stock but only country shipping from options I can select are Spain or France and both say won’t ship to Australia. Anyone else had this issue?

    • That means it's sold out for us.

    • The Note Pro shipping from China have sold out. They sometimes release more units, so may be worth checking again later or tomorrow.

  • Now that we've ordered, we need to look for cases. Had a quick look on Ali but can't find any, obviously the phone is too new, anyone find any on other sites?

  • Are all the $US 20 vouchers gone? Hoping they will get some more stock for us.

  • Easy ways to debloat this and get rid of the ads?

    • MIUI 12.5 will allow users to uninstall most system apps so I have read.
Re ads.. only ads i see on mi phones is from playstore apps. It may help to not create a mi account though?

      • +1

i have an 18month old mi 9T and I dont see any ads on that, ever.
never did setup a mi account though

        • +1

Yep, my 18 month old 9T that I imported from HK (didn't buy the local JB version) never had any ads/popups.

  • was able to pay but it says it will ship in 42 days, is that the normal wait time?

    • Yes

    • +1

It said estimated delivery by April 2, you should get it before then.

    • Yes I saw that as well. I will be cancelling if the item hasn't shipped in a reasonable time (less than 42 days) as the seller claims it was in stock, showed photos of the boxes & claimed an April 2 delivery.

    • +1

i think it will ship way before then

  • Anyone else had issues on payment? I chose Paypal, which was offered and it went through. Now, I get a message saying to cancel & reorder after buying two phones? WTH?

    • Can you update payment method instead of cancelling and reordering?

      • I don't see that option?

I only found out because the coupon code disappeared when I finalized and I messaged them. All I know is they took over $600AUD and I have no idea what's happening.

2nd bunch of sh*t trying to get a phone via OZB, and following every step, precisely. Last was Poco 3 and they never shipped/said to cancel. Both purchased within minutes of their sales. Both gave receipts.

PS: Many hours since I messaged. No reply at all. I don't like it when I go through OZB and am scammed. Any reps here?

        • No reply to my message so dispute with Paypal.

F-SAKE! Wth is the issue with ordering a frigging phone anymore? Twice paid, twice money held for days, twice no message back.

All I want is to GIVE MY MONEY TO SOMEONE FOR A PHONE.

          Sheesh.

Might just have to wait for JB or Harvey. WTH is the problem with sellers?

  • +2

Managed to grab one gray 8/128Gb for $408 after they released some stock around 7 pm today. Store coupon still worked.

    • Damnit, I was checking just before then!

I'll wait for the next drop.

Looks like a lot of phone for the money, and 8GB of RAM will be very helpful for the next couple of years

      • +1

Right, I was initially planning to go for a 6GB version, but +2GB should make it at least 1 year more durable. I'm not so concerned about storage as it's expandable, and I've been OK with 64GB for the last 4 years.
To get the phone, I refreshed the page a few times until I saw it available, then put it into the shopping cart. If you successfully proceed to the payment screen and price is still the same, you've got it.
The main thing was to double-check the price in the cart and while making a payment. 2 or 3 times it jumped to $1,500 without any warning which meant that there was no stock anymore.

  • +3

My Grey 6/64 Pro got shipped out, so looks like they're getting through the orders

  • +3

Got the message today saying mine's on its way.

  • Excellent news on the shipments. I suspect given the volume of worldwide orders it will take time for them to get all the phones out. Are they being tracked, or have they chosen to use a cut priced uncrackable service?

    • +3

They always mass pump out tracking numbers. Then ship it out… to a loading bay. It'll stay there until a certain amount is reached (1-2 weeks), then it is loaded onto a truck… which is then driven to a delivery centre. Then loaded onto planes once it reaches a certain amount.

They do it like that to save cost. Think millions of orders a day on AliExpress.

    • trackable on cainiao. will show when arrives in country and when it is delivered

    • +1

      checked mine at https://global.cainiao.com/
      It says

      Packed for picking-up

  • +1

Interesting to see that people in Europe have already started receiving their RN10P from the Monday night AliExpress/Goldway sale. They were shipped from France/Spain but nonetheless, 2 days in pretty impressive, especially since most Aussie bound phones haven't shipped yet and won't likely arrive for 4-6 weeks based on the shipping method.

    • Pretty normal for European shipping times.

  • +3

    woohoo! shipping has progressed

  • Does anyone miss the deal and want the phone? I realized my corporate plan doesn't allow it to be used in Chinese branded phone therefore want to sell it.
I bought the 6/64 Pro gray one plus a glass film. If anyone likes it, please ping me. The price is $330 (phone + film).

Mine is also in transission. Once I successfully received it, I will respond.

    • i am interested

  • Does banking apps work on stock global rom?

    • +2

      Yes. All apps do.

      • thank you. :)

  • Most importantly, the phone cannot be rooted, or else banking apps don't work

    • this guy has rooted xiaomi but google pay still works, so I guess banking apps may still work. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/10171507/redir

      • +1

It depends. I have modded many Xiaomi phones, using magisk, etc … some apps work, others do not. Citibank never worked for me on a rooted device, ANZ worked on some not others, Amex worked fine. Foxtel Go stopped working on most devices, so YMMV, depending on the app and the device.

        • it makes sense. Are we able to un-root it after rooting?

  • Anyone get theirs yet? Mine left singapore like 2 days ago. No updates since. I'm expecting it to hit Aus by weekend, stay in customs for a couple of days and maybe have it delivered by next Friday lol.

    • +2

      Mine just arrived today.

      • Thanks for the info
Could you please post your shipment tracking timeline from the moment it left Singapore for us to estimate when ours arrive?

        • my last order took 4 days to get to me in brisbane after arriving in the country. i'm not so confident this time with all the rain & flooding

        • +1

So far so good, really have nothing to complain. :p

      • Did they just drop it off at your door, or was a sig required?

        • put in post box

        • AusPost knocked my door, I'm in Melbourne.

Good thing i stuck with Poco X3.. Durability of RN10P is bit concerning

    • +2

So don't store it in a fish tank, let Edward scissorhands have a go in it, or try make it a galaxy fold competitor. Got it.

    • it has the same IP rating, same glass as the poco x3 https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10662&idPhone…

    • I'm not hating on RN10P. Just saying it doesn't seem as durable as Poco X3 in the same price bracket. Possibly a deal breaker for those looking to keep the phone long term

  • +1

Well I got a auspost notification that that UCL is preparing my order.

UCL is a mail forwarder for Aliexpress. From experience, I should be getting it by this Friday lol.

    • Mine just arrived to the last mile carrier today (Auspost).

So it looks like it's on track for Friday (but hopefully sooner 🤣).

      • Which tracker said this mate? Between Ali tracking, Cainiao (which Ali says it get its details from) , 17track and Parcel Tracker, they all seem to read different. I seem to be 3 days behind, but I reckon nobody works weekends in customs/freight in Aus.

        • I'm registered for Auspost so any mail coming my way I will a email notification or app notification.

I've purchased from AliExpress before so just using past experience (an item that arrived 1 week ago) as guesstimate for when this phone will arrive.

The company UCL knows it's coming so they prepared the Auspost parcel (and ship it out when it is in their hands).

Then a day or two later, it usually lands in my hands.

          • @plasmoske: Now Auspost officially has the parcel now. Should be delivered by tomorrow or Friday at the latest 😜😜

        • I'm in the 3 days behind shipment as well. Latest update is;

          Arrival at Processing Center
          2021-03-21 08:44:00

  • Anyone recommend a micro SD card for this? There are so many different types out there, 64 or 128 is fine. Cheers

  • +1

Mine arrived today (Brisbane). Great phone.

  • +1

    woohoo! i got mine today

  • Does the standard 10 have NFC?

    • No it doesn't, have to step up to Note 10 Pro for NFC.

  • The price on this just go a little nuts?

Looking to upgrade, anyone have a recommendation for the Note 10 pro?

    • +3

The Note 10 Pro was good at the early bird price for the first 2 days, but if you don't mind losing the headphone jack and SD card slot, and a bit of a camera downgrade, the Poco F3 might be worth a look with 5G and much faster chipset. The Poco X3 Pro is also worth a look, losing the AMOLED display but also cheaper than the RN10Pro early bird price while gaining a better chipset.

I've had my RN10Pro for a couple days and it's definitely a good device but if I were purchasing right now I would probably consider those other two on the early bird sales. Not because of any issue with the RN10Pro, just those other two being great value at those prices.

  • How is everyone finding the RN10P? Mine has a small rattle coming from the camera when I place it down with a little force. This issue has been reported by others on Whirlpool & XDA, I'm trying to figure out of it's how all the cameras are or whether some units have this fault.

Someone on YouTube went to the Redmi showroom and was told its normal and that it has an inbuilt gimble to assist with video stabilisation.

    • i can't detect any rattle

my only (little) gripe is the factory screen protector is every so slightly off centre for the front camera, but is doesn't appear to be blocking it

all the reviews so there is no video stabilisation

edit: i think i can hear a small rattle when i tap the screen face gently on my forearm. i'm not particularly concerned. i wouldn't have noticed it if i hadn't been told

    • rn10/p doesn't have any ois/gimbal ans shouldn't rattle at all

      • OIS - no.
        Gimbal - apparently yes.

A number of other Xiaomi phones have had rattles in their camera modules … not great IMO.

          • @plasmoske: If you read my original comment, I am referring to a YouTube reviewer who attended the Redmi Showroom to ask about the rattle and was sharing what he learnt.

I know what OIS is. I know what a gimble is. There is no confusion.
