Aldi 23.6" LED Monitor - $129 (Reduced from $179)

70

Looks like TV/monitor prices are falling through the floor. This one is on sale at Aldi Tuggeranong - not sure if other stores have it.

  • how do these fare quality-wise…

hmmm the link you posted doesn't match the price you posted (and the link points to specials from over a month ago as per brucefromaustralia). Don't think I like the name of the brand either, isn't fission the basis of the atom bomb?

    • Think the OP means they are reduced to $129 in-store.

    • Same product - store managers reduce the price after a few weeks.
LOL Fission is an Aldi trademark - rebadged from another supplier.
Only good point is the 60 day easy returns at Aldi.

      • So its good or not?

        • +1

Don't know, but I wouldn't bother as name brand monitors with listed specs are about the same price.

  • Not sure if coincidence or not but every Aldi Fission product has been awesome so far whereas the other brands such some times.

    • Generally all Aldi products are good. We bought a smoker recently, works a treat!!! And a lot of other products are good. Excellent returns warranty on everything. I love it when an new catalogue is out!

    • Errr… "such" as what?

      • Such = suck …

    • Aldi seem to be changing the trademark they market products under, meaning a Fission product may have been a Tevion, or Bauhn, etc a while ago. Its all Aldi. All come from different manufacturers & Aldi add their mark. Its pot luck, especially with electronics at Aldi.

  • Contrast ratio of 1000:1? Not sure if I'm just out of the monitor-spec-loop but that seems pretty bad to me.

    • 1000:1 is pretty standard. any higha you are paying double. ones you see usually is dynamic ratio which goes to 5 gazillion.

  • I believe that this monitor is RGB only- no HDMI connections.

  • Hmm. I just bought one from Browns Plains (QLD) Aldi for $129. No DVI or HDMI, only 15pin SVGA. The other difference between this monitor and a name-brand is that it uses external transformer/ac adaptor and only has 1 year warranty (other monitors normally have 3 year onsite warranty). Cheapest other monitor I could find was $150+. Could take this one back, but don't think I could be bothered, still pretty cheap. Haven't turned it on yet though..!
