These machines are useless. Watch hundreds of them appear on gumtree in a couple of months.

Do yourself a favour and by a squat rack with barbell and a couple of bumper plates and learn how to lift correctly.

What can you do on this?

Chest Press / flys
Lat pulldown
Cable row sitting on the floor
Biceps and triceps

At 45kg it's basically good for losing fat, maybe getting some slight definition in your chest and arms ( barely ), you won't put much muscle on.

I'd take squats and deadlifts over this any day.

Not bagging this deal but bodyweight based exercises are probably better for a full body workout that translates into benefits for proper day to day activity. Cabled weights don't really train the stabilizer muscles because the machine does most of that that work for you.

FWIW I purchased the Fortis branded pull-up and bench station and it is embarrassingly flimsy. There is no way you could actually use it to bench press any weight. Even doing pull ups on it is very sketchy… so given this is so discounted I'd imagine could be similar quality.

Lot of misinformation here regarding the weights.

The use of pulleys allows the required force to be multiplied - in this case the I’m guessing the biggest multiplier would be x3 = 135kg

Looks to be three main cable paths - overhead / chest / legs.
Would not expect all of them to be triple force - most likely some combination of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 across the three points.

  so how are you getting a force multiplier if, essentially, pulleys where designed to make things easier to lift. explain if im missing something here.

    Pulleys can give a mechanical advantage OR mechanical disadvantage, depending on which point you are lifting from.
    
    Remember early physics lessons - Equal and opposite reactions, right?
    It just depends how you rig it up.

      Nope :) now I'm interested in knowing which pulleys in this system are increasing the force needed or decreasing it. I would imagine that they designed this system to balance itself out so that the weight is close to 1:1.

        @SardineHead: Yeah it doesn't make any sense. I looked up other machines and found none that increased resistance, only decreased. If the ratio isn't 1:1 then wouldn't you expect them to list the effective weight or ratios? Also if the resistance is multiplied it would mean the speed of the weight stack slamming into the ground would be multiplied too.

        On the other pages you can see how the cables and pulleys are routed… If this Kogan one has a manual then you could check for a similar design.
        
        It’s very common for cable-pulley machines to NOT have a 1:1 ratio at every station.

        @desty: It all comes down to motion ratio — the ratio between how far a component is moved where the force is applied to how far the load (weight stack) moves. This includes force doubling from the two lines of a parallel pulley as well as the leverage effects of pivoting rigid members (fulcrums and moment arms). There are no free lunches in physics of course and energy must be conserved. The product of applied force and parallel displacement gives the work performed (work is energy). So a load doubling at a particular handle will move the weight stack twice as far which halves the total range of motion permitted.
        
        Given that we can view the range of motion of the weight stack, we can rule out any large motion ratios at the handles. Further, from what I can see, the pull down and low bars appear to have a 1 to 1 motion ratio.
        
        Pulleys are used on exercise machines mainly to guide and change the direction of cables. They're also used to transfer lengths between anchored ends of height adjustable cable machines. The most common use of pulleys to change the motion ratio is in cable crossover machines where the load at the handle end is halved to yield a doubled range of motion to facilitate the handles being used much further from the machine.

I'm not an expert in fitness.
Isn't bodyweight exercises are enough at home? You don't have the storage problem either.
There are many public parks with exercise setups as well.

  You can do more/better exercises with a pair of adjustable dumbbells ( or cheap dumbbell set with the spinlock threads and metal plates ) and also the exercises will be better.

  Checkout the ATX range of power racks / squat racks. Reputable brand at comparable price. Think Sam's Fitness sell them in Aus.
  
  Also the MyRack system is better known and has alot more attachments if youre looking for lat pulldown / cable crossover etc

  Building muscle is the best, most efficient in terms of time, and most sustainable way to lose fat. They shouldn't be considered mutually exclusive. You won't be able to add more weight to the machine.

  Get a gym membership use the treadmill / stationary bike and lift low weight with high reps and body weight exercises. Watch what you eat and you will lose weight

I suspect I won't be the only person to have this issue… I've received emails that state that Box 1 and 2 of 3 were sent. Box 2 just arrived but the other two boxes are MIA. My order status has also now updated to "Delivered" despite only receiving part of my order 🤦

Received only 1 box and allied/kogan have marked the whole shipment as delivered. Allied have said the others may not arrive for over a week. Piss poor for what would usually be a $205 freight service.

        @BeefBiryani: Yes. One big long box contains all the parts for the machine. Two small heavy boxes are the weight plates.
        
        Assembling can be challenging if you do it by yourself so it's best to have someone help you.
        The end result is not bad

So.. tried to put it together, and halfway through realised its missing bolts and washers.

The instruction manual says there are meant to be 18 B10 bolts and B14 washers, but the screw pack only lists 16 of each.

Really poorly designed, and if I wasn't almost done with putting together, would definitely return it.
