got this yesterday, awesome deal. you get the $50 voucher instantly too. 30 day expiry. Also gives you 12% off (instead of 10%) with afterpay on certain items.

    • +10

I dont think this voucher stack with afterpay or any ebay coupon code. I tried them in the past. Its either voucher code or discount code.

      • +2

You could use the voucher to buy a gift card which could stack with other coupons. It’s been a while though, they might have closed that loophole

        • +6

no, you cannot do that anymore

          • @NonSense: Yeah a shame it doesn't work anymore :(

      • +1

yes thats correct, sorry i should have specified that.

      • +1

@Meaty is correct. This voucher does not stack any other ebay coupon codes. I don't have after pay so cannot confirm that.

    • +11

You also need to use the whole $50 at once apparently, can't use the remainder later.

More of an "up to" $50 off voucher.

    • +2

Make sure to use it in one go. You can't use it multiple times. Although for some reason I got the voucher twice

    • How do I go about getting 10-12% off with afterpay please?

  • +1

Can the 50 voucher combine with shop back cashback?

    • +3

No! Unless the rules have changed any vouchers (not advertised in the SB app directly) nullify any cashback.

      • Ah shame :(. Thanks for the confirmation

    • Use the voucher to buy an eBay gift card, then you can use the gift card together with cashback sites.

  • is this a new promo?

    • +24

No it's the same offer they've had for ages, I cancelled mine after the first year I might join again if I need to buy something over $50 on eBay but otherwise no way. Prime is way better value

      • +8

        Prime is way better value

Exactly what I want to say.

        • +11

Exactly what I want to say., however free eBay plus will not hurt either :D

  • Is ebay plus worthed?

    • +31

For a net gain of $1?
Just as long as you have something worth $50+ on there that you have your eye on.

Otherwise definitely wouldn't be spending a cent on it.

    • +31

Ebay plus is genuinely trash. Customer service is shockingly poor and they don't even care that they are so bad. However I agree if you are trying to buy something for $50 or more then you have nothing to lose.

    • +4

the real value of ebay plus is 2%

      proof:

non-ebay plus member 20% dell vs 22% plus member
      10% afterpay vs 12% afterpay

    • Nope.

But hey, free voucher, so yes.

I've saved enough for it even without the voucher.

    • Noped.

    • +2

Reasons listed below and many more made me stop my membership around October last year.
Haven't even realised that I dont have eBay Plus as the need has not come up and the discounts are'nt really there.

Also for eBay to know this and change their behavior, the more people that opt out of this trash membership the better.

      • They've been "…working on adding more benefits." for a long old time now…sigh

  • Was going to mark as duplicate, but it seems the other long running one has run out.

    Good stuff

  • +15

Just remember that I'm pretty sure others reported that voucher is one time use. So make sure item is $50 or more…

    • +5

Yeah found out this the hard way! Spent half and hour chatting to support and they wouldn't budge. Was not impressed!

    • -2

Happened to me, i got another voucher when i chat about the issue

    • +2

I suspect if I but a bunch of items that has the total of >$50, it will be okay?

Per item can be less than $50

    • +1

Can you have numerous items in the cart to get over the $50?
Can you buy anything or is it plus items only?

      • -1

eBay Plus items only,.I did the Coles eBay delivery so lots of items to get to $50.

      • +3

You can buy anything at all. I just used it to buy three books from different sellers, and none of them were Plus items. No issues.

        • +1

Ah my bad must have confused it with the $5 monthly eBay plus vouchers.(eBay plus item only)

Just be mindful to use the voucher in one transaction and within the 30 days.

      • Anything on eBay

  • I'm sure everyone can find $50 worth of stuff to get on ebay

  • +7

This voucher code doesn't stack with any ebay discount coupon code so you need to pay full price to use the voucher.

    • +3

Ebay will also hide all other discount codes on listing and push you to use your 50 dollar code and pay full price

    • +1

So technically not worth the full $50 unless you buy an item that never accepts discounts codes.

Ebay plus was worth it to me last year with the 99c deals, question is, will they be back this year?

    • That's the deal breaker right there, sneaky bastards lol

    • Was about to buy again from Boozebud.

So using PBOOZ15 to get 15% off wouldn't work with the eBay Plus $50 Voucher?

    • You can use the voucher to buy a $50 eBay gift card. The gift card can then be stacked with other discount codes.

      • Apparently they've put a stop to this

  • +44

The best deal is to unsubscribe eBay plus

    • +13

And purchase Amazon Prime and enjoy that sweet sweet super fast shipping.

      • +4

I can't believe that are doing overnight shipping now….

        • +6

the only company that deliver on the weekend too

        • +1

In the US I had same day shipping on occasion.

It will be more common once drones do everything.

          I hate Amazon though.

          • @TEER3X: Why….

          • @TEER3X: Well, not if the Karens decided to complain the drone is spying on them first… it will go back to snail mail…

  • +1

    This deal is dodgy AF.

I made an offer on an item before using this. When it got accepted, this deal immediately disappeared for me.

    • +3

      That's how they eBay!

  • +1

Worked..Now to ask the customer service about the $30 voucher that i should get if I register ebay plus.

    • Keen to hear how this pans out as I did a similar thing

    • +2

what are you talking about? you will get the $50GC when signing up to the $49/yr. The $30 is the continuous loophole of "cancelling" without any intention of cancelling and this time next year which you will get after you pay the $49 annual fee.

So first year will cost you -$1 and every subsequent year will cost you $19/yr with the loophole.

      • I had a ebay plus trial and then I canceled it and then I think it gave me the option to not cancel and get $30 gift card. I accepted. Later I canceled it and was waiting for this kinda voucher..

Heard other people did it the same tbing and got both. I will try as I have the screenshot.. already got the $50 voucher

  • +1

I got this offer too and purchased in eBay Coles for 50$

    • Very limited items from Coles.. not complete Coles online… its not worthy at all after 2-3 shops. Unless you know where you want to burn your $50 on ebay, otherwise will pass this one

      • Agree luckily our weekly purchase items like yogurt, cheese and few cleaning items we bought. Not many items like before so limited option

      • And the delivery from Coles EBay is shockingly slow!!

  • Only advantage of eBay plus is their free metro express delivery.

Although Amazon provides a more reliable next day metro delivery these days, eBay has more wide ranges of products than Amazon.

    • +3

Free metro express delivery is a joke.
Seller can do anything. I got my stuff sent through normal post and took 10 days to arrive. Contacted ebay and all they said was to contact seller and return if you don't want it anymore.
I said I don't want ebay plus anymore and cancelled. Amazon prime is miles better

    • +2

I'm still not sure why everyone keeps comparing eBay and Amazon.
eBay don't actually sell anything, chumps like me and you do.
Amazon actually sells a large amount of the items themselves so can reliably provide increased shipping speeds and such on their own products.

      • +1

The shipping speeds are the same with 3rd party sellers that have their goods at the warehouse. Most of Amazon's products are from 3rd parties.
All their stuff is in the same warehouse.

You'll get slow shipping only when the 3rd party does not keep their goods at the Amazon warehouse.

        • +2

Yes and that emphasizes my point even more, as that is nothing at all like how eBay operates, so why the comparison keeps being made is beyond me.

  • +1

I just opened eBay and this offer flashed up for about 0.2 seconds and disappeared. Now I can't find it anywhere.

  • Does the trick still work if you sign up. Spend the voucher and cancel. $50 profit?

    • +3

Why cancel it if they will allow you get ebay plus subscription for a year?

      • Because ebay plus is not worth $49 to most of us.

      • You still keep the subscription until the end of the billing cycle even if you cancel immediately, also there's a chance they offer you another voucher if you "change" your mind and stay

    • +1

They won't refund your $49. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle.

    • aye ;) if you know, you know

      • Haha. Tempted to try again skido?

    • can confirm it does still work.

  • +1

I don't get the option as I previously had it

    EDIT: Worked!

  • +2

And can I just say how disenchanted I am with Ebay

  • +1

"Unfortunately, we're having a technical problem and can't process your registration for eBay Plus at this time. Please try again later."

I think I'll take the hint and move on?

    • +3

      Yeah thats it!

Ebay is more and more dodgy by the month.

The amount of hassle dealing with customer service over no FVF listings (either through gumtree offer or the 2 app listings) has made it an actual deal just to avoid.
Cant stand the pricks to be honest.

Managed payments are coming next month and that is nothing to do with me - see ya later ebay I am done - you just lost yourself a customer!

  • +5

I have done a trial before and expired (have not paid for ebayplus before), will I still be eligible for the voucher?

  • +2

The monthly $5 voucher seemed attractive until I saw it required a minimum $50 spend. Hell, might as well just wait for a $5 off $5 or $5 off $10 from CR or SB. :-) Those seem to come almost monthly.

  • Can I use a eBay gift card to pay for eBay plus?

    • You shouldn't be paying for eBay plus…..period.

      • I want the $50 voucher offer, and find some discounted gift cards to pay the $49 first and bam I even get paid to have eBay plus

  • +2

The Offer is only available to users who have an eBay account with a registration address in Australia, and who have an appropriate purchase history

How on earth are we meant to know what this is?

I used to have plus ages ago but didn’t renew due to lack of benefits. I’m also now a happy member of Prime instead and only buy stuff off eBay nowadays if I can’t find it elsewhere.

Was half considering taking this up but don’t want pay $49 to find out I’m not eligible for the $50 voucher, which there is bound to be restrictions on knowing eBay. I’m not eligible because I’ve tried it for free in the past.

  • +6

You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately.

    So, I'm not eligible I guess !

Anyone else who had a second go at getting a free ebay plus ?

    • I’m in the same boat as you, no joy.

    • +1

I'm not sure this makes you ineligible. Has anyone confirmed?

      • +1

Don’t know, but I’m not willing to be the guinea pig. That’s the message I get when following the banner link, with no indication I’ll receive anything.

        • +12

Received the voucher. I had the same 'You have already tested eBay Plus for free' message as I had signed up a long time ago and cancelled.
