Hey JV do you know if this is a permanent bundle or is it only on for a limited time?
Looks like it's all year…
https://store.google.com/au/config/chromecast_google_tv_netf…
Eligible Chromecast with Google TV purchases on the Google Store between 1 October 2020 4:15am AEST and 31 December 2021 11:59pm
customers must set up an eligible Chromecast with Google TV device and follow the instructions to apply the offer value to a Netflix account by 1 March 2022
Thanks Mate
Limit of three per customer/Google Account
So I assume you can stack them and get 18 months free Netflix…
@jv: Cheers JV!
@camelthief: Now you won't have to steal camels to pay for your streaming subscriptions…
@jv: Indeed, Camel owners across the globe can sleep a little easier tonight.
Or that would be the case if I didn't so enjoy a good Camel heist :-) .
Not if you have Argentinian Netflix setup or if you can pay Netflix with 20% off iTunes gift cards.
What's important about Argentinian Netflix?
Cheaper….
@Kooratz: Is that the cheapest one?
@Nicko99: I am paying $7.39 for top tier and I think it’s $19 something locally.
@Pricebeat: thanks, will check it out
@jv: I'm guessing you set your VPN to Buenos Aires to purchase then set it back
Grabbed one Mate, Netflix credit was running out and I thought I would give this a whirl to see if it was better than my MiBox-3.
Thanks.
this little device remind me yearssss ago when i was jailbreaking my 1st/2nd gen apple TV. that was fun…..
anyone use a keyboard to type on tv? for example for adding the adds-on or searching/typing something. using remote isnt the best
recent reviews feb 2021 said not working with google tv
Does not work with Chromecast with Google TV as of February 6th, 2021. Quite frustrating as it would be very useful in some circumstances. Hard to imagine "Google TV" is enough of a change from "Android TV" that this should be an issue. Google: please fix this.
I have just used it this morning for typing. Not the best app but still works.
@Pricebeat: ups ok will try soon thanks
Voice works pretty well
@ONEMariachi: even for entering something like http/mulla.adfax.com/repo ?
@CyberMurning: ahh, yeah unsure, I usually just use it for searching for movies/tv shows i want to watch, and it's pretty flawless for that.
It has bluetooth doesn't it? Simple bluetooth keyboard could work?
something like this maybe.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Fosmon-Lightweight-Bluetooth-Contr…
@ONEMariachi: ok but maybe overkill, we just need to setup all those repo once
Is latitude pay different than gem visa credit card?
Is there anything cool you can do with these? We have the revision 1 old model - they were meant to add Stadia to this model and haven't done so?!
I have the Chromecast Ultra. Also have a Samsung Smart TV. I've been thinking of getting this but is there a real benefit?
I only have Netflix, which works really well via the smart TV remote, or via the Chromecast. I can also stream directly from my laptop to the Chromecast or to the TV.
What is everyone getting this for? Is it just to upgrade your non-smart TV? I would really love to be convinced to get one, but I've been feeling guilty about throwing out plastic stuff and waste and the environment, etc. Thanks for any help!
You don't need the phone any more to browse youtube/Netflix.
And it is an Android TV now, so you can install plex in it
Free delivery if you use code FREESHIP presently
Much better to get the Netflix bundled version if you use Netflix…
It ends up costing you $44 for the device.
