nbn Unlimited 100/20 $89.99/Month for 12 Months (Then $99.99/Month), No Lock-in Contract, New Customers Only @ iiNet

120

Just exploring nbn deals and found this one iiNet offering special price for nbn100. Seems not bad comparing to ABB and Superloop offering $10 discount only for 6months where iinet is offering for nbn 100 package for 12 months.

Evening speed is 95 Mbps and Business hour speed is 91 Mbps as per Key Facts Sheet.

I was with iiNet for two years from 2016-2018 and had their NBN50 plan. Speed was consistent then and the customer was far better than Telstra. Though CS team is based in South Africa but you could chat with a human which is quite impossible with Telstra at this moment.

Twelve (12) month promo discount available to new iiNet customers only.

  • Good deal, my Telstra plan finishes in 2 months. But I am stuck with them with due to bigpond email.

    • +6

That’s why i never use ISP’s email address. Happy with Gmail and Yahoo.

        • +1

Google search you mean? Not the company and its services.

            • @[Deactivated]: They will likely just point their servers to US-based CDN, which will mean a slower but identical service.

    • +2

I left Telstra 4 years ago and my bigpond email still works fine.

    • +2

You can keep your Bigpond email for a year for free after leaving Telstra, and even after that you can pay for it.

I had a million things linked to my email address which is why I stayed with iiNet for 15 years…..I wanted to jump sooner but I knew it would be a mammoth task.

I realised the longer I left it the harder and longer it would take when I did decide to change it. We changed over all our email addresses to Gmail nearly 12 months ago. All up it probably took me a couple of days to change everything that was linked to our iiNet address.

I'm so glad I never have to go through that again and I can change from ISP to ISP with ease now. Lesson learnt…..ditch the ISP email address and make the move to Gmail / Yahoo etc

    • You can keep your Telstra email for 12 months after cost free. I'm bailing after years with them and my daughter found it written in small print via Googling.

    • Move to an Outlook email, add Microsoft 365 - sort out any office license, backup, and phone/pc/tablet photo sync problems for the whole family all in one go.

  • I believe it’s the same price a super loop if this is only 100/20 which I’m assuming it to be as it’s unspecified and therefore the default.
As my 100/40 is $99 that would make 100/20 $89
Also, no contract on super loop… 12 month lock-in? :/

    • No lock-in contact as per my understanding as on the sign up page you could select max 6 months contract with them that would reduce the modem price if you go for their modem.

      • Superloop is no lock in. Congress up $10 cheaper for me in hfc.

    • I was looking for the upload speed too and couldn't seem to find it.
Does 20vs40 make much noticeable difference to anything?
We mainly stream shows and still do some WFH, no online gaming these days :(

Currently on 100/40 getting 108 down.

      • Whom you are with?

        • Telstra with legacy cable pricing, although mine isn't as cheap as others I've seen posted.

      • iiNet upload = 20Mbps. Do you upload files for work?

        • +3

It makes a difference uploading that 1Gb file to confluence or jira when wfh 😂

        • Nah we remote into machines at work

  • +2

    iiNet NBN100 @ $89.99 for 12 Months

90 bucks for a year? Aces.

  • Remember this is provided by TPG!

    • +2

But with better (meaning any) customer service.
Although you can tell clear as day it’s based on South Africa

      • +1

Naa their customer service is trash. Mate/abb customer service is where it's at.

        • Agreed, I said better than nothing, super low bar to compare TPG service.

      @Turd
"Remember this is provided by TPG!"
      So what?
I've been with Internode since 2005… then taken over by iiNet… still okay… in turn they were taken over by TPG…. again, still okay (although with minor superficial niggles which have since been resolved).

I’m happy with Mate 10/20 @79. Best ever!

    • 10/20 and happy? 😅

    • +1

10/20@79 worst ever mate instead of best ever 😂😂😂

    • +3

Yea I am genuinely curious about why people dont seem to recommend the mate nbn for $80 a month for 100/20?

    • Sorry meant 100/20!

    • Bundle with a mobile plan and another $10 off on Mate.

  • +3

I've been with Mate for 4 years.

    100/20 now @ $79 a month.

I've got 95mbps atm, never had below 90mbps.

  • +6

Superloop has 100/20 for $74.95 for 6 months, much better deal

    • or Spintel if you don’t qualify for Superloop

  • I've been with Dodo NBN 100/20 unlimited for the past 5 years.. only issue I ever had a cable related in the street, NBNco fixed and has been great service ever since. I also have gas and power and pay $75 a month, no contract. Similar offer for new users, no contract is $75 per month for 100/20 unlimited for 6 months, then $85 a month (by then re-negotiate and you'll most likely get it cheaper.. I check every 6 months or so if offer can be improved.. I need to call them to see if I can improve my current price).

    • Yea, same but with TPG. Good old NBN hey. When it works, it works

  • -1

    NBN is super expensive.

    TPG/iiNet FTTB 100/40 @ $59.99 is much much better.

    • Yes sure, if only if it had availability as soon wide as nbn

      • +1

A lot of people dont know about it. Eg our new neighbours who moved in… Then automatically joined NBNCo but our building has NBNCo FTTB and TPG/iiNet FTTB

  • Yet existing customers get to pay $75 for 40Mbit…thanks iiNet!

  • +1

    Any deals on NBN50?

  • +2

I am with mate and pay $79/month for 100/20 and static IP included. They also have Aussie support, couldn't be happier.

    • +1

      Same here! Cannot fault them

      • The ONLY issue I had with them was their Vocus backhaul brought about latency during the evening - not great for gaming unfortunately.

  • +1

How is this a bargain, this is awful pricing for TPG.

  • would be even better if were cheaper without fetch

  • +1

Geez NBN is expensive for users. Likely to be obsolete in a few years too. Seems like a massive waste building the network

    • +1

Working from home would have been a comple disaster without the nbn. But the "obsolete in a few years" bit just isn't right. FTTC is incredibly capable, and gigabit speeds will be plenty for a while.

Labor was a bit optimistic pushing for fttp from day 1, so now they need to gradually replace the worse fttn and move to FTTC (and eventually, fttp).

      • +1

I suspect wireless networks like Starlink and/or 5,6,7G etc will take over for the mass market.

        • +2

In a dense city, it's hard to beat a dedicated transmission channel like a run of fibre. Starlink/LEO internet will be an absolute godsend, but i expect it has a very long time to go before it competes with fiber. There is still a lot of magic that needs to be worked out to get latencies down towards what we get from nbn now.

  • Anyone got a referral code for Mate NBN? I'm about to sign up for Soul Mates NBN 100 plan.

    • +1

      Pmed cheers

      • +1

        Sorted. Thanks mate.
