Movies by the Boulevard

January 2012 sees the return of the hugely popular Movies by the Boulevard, now in it's 11th year. Catch some of the best films, free, at Cathy Freeman Park.

Arrive early for a selection of tasty food, drinks and snacks available for purchase, or pack a picnic and rug or low chair and have a leisurely evening under the stars.

We'll be screening a great range of films spanning a variety of genres, with ratings suitable for all age groups.

We are proud to support the Starlight Children's Foundation, and on selected nights, kids can get involved in fun activities (inluding face painting) from 5pm, through a simple gold coin donation. Funds raised by children's activities will go toward brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

  • Sorry but I can't find it above or on the webpage - do you need to reserve tickets online or anything or is it just rock up (first come, first in)

Free movies - in an outdoor park. You'll need to pay for parking/transport.

Bring a chair or picnic rug to sit. Something to drink/eat as well if you like.

        • Yep - it's a big picnic affair (although food is also available). Bring low chairs/beach chairs/rug or bean bag to get a spot in the front half near the screen. Regular camping chairs/directors chairs have to go to the back - and they police it, walking around with a measuring stick! Still ok, but a bit further away. This used to be called Movies in the Overflow.

Hopefully the rains subside by then

  • This is fantastic thankyou, Moonlight Cinema at Centennial Park is about $18 per adult so this saves a fortune for pretty much the same thing if not better, cheers!

  • can do some extra while waiting for ads
