will wait till it further drops to under 1k

If this one goes under $1k within 12 months, I'd wager it will be the last Razr we see for a while

    screen will break

Don't pay a hefty pricetag for the opportunity to be a guinea pig.

All you clowns downvoting me as if you know what's what, imagine your folding phone breaks just because, your screen folds on itself, and breaks, your display - damaging itself
      hinges falling apart.

      Alright, champs.

Thanks, I actually found your link useful and have decided to pass on it, regardless of price.

Never liked flips either personally, that flex cable has a limited lifespan..

      • +2

        i upvoted u bro, i agree with you 100%

Foldable fones are prone to break over short period of time, there's not enough research done on this bit

      • Let those neg you buy this phone and curse later. Ignorance…

      • +1

To be fair, have any of you used a folding phone for a long period yet before claiming that it's gonna break after a short period?
While I haven't used the Razr, I've owned the Samsung Fold 1 and 2 since they launch in Australia. While there are definitely things they can improve on, I don't see the screen breaking anytime soon unless you're doing something stupid with it.

        • I get your point, I never in my life had to issue for a warranty over an electronic device, they just don't combust or randomly break on me, I'm careful with my stuff and I'm sure if someone's gentle enough and super careful, they won't break it.

BUT - this is "experimental" technology , first of its kind - and we're basically a public trial - if it had a fair pro-consumer unique warranty with the purhase of the device i'd say , yay! enjoy the novelty.
But paying $300-600 to repair a screen isn't something that's fun tmo :(

This could be the next "curved" phone, it'll be gone and nobody will care for it - and it could be the next big thing, but they need to be more pro-consumer to convince me personally to shell out so much money on a novelty.

    "Processing type: Snapdragon"

    Yeah cheers HN

  • Dual sim?

    • A nano sim and esim. So yes if your second one supports esim. Much better than previous rarz which has only esim.

      • Note: microSD and other storage cards not supported in the SIM card slot. Your phone may not immediately support the use of eSIM and nano SIM together; this capability will be added via a software update. Use of eSIM is not supported by all carriers; see carrier for details.

Just checked moto official site under experiences section

        • Then?

          • @phuc6789: Until software is updated its not dual sim

            • @hopper: I am using dual sim with a physical sim and a esim from telstra similar as iphone. But can't use 5g with dual sim as S21.

              • @phuc6789: Thx for update, they might have not updated the description.

  • Early adopters can sort out all the issues for me before I bite. Promising phone and future though.

Bought it on black Friday. It is pricey. But if you love the feel of V3 and folding phone, so it is worth every cent. No crease as z flip or fold. Love the way it has chin. Specification is not good but more than enough for me.

    • You paid $1k more for the folding?
      Each to their own.

      • +1

I love its design It ticks all my box. Still android 10 smartphone with big screen and good specification. And I paid much less than iphone or samsung. So why not?

    Why is this expensive?

    • +1

Folding screens are low volume high cost

  • More like waste $1799

  • I would recommend you go with non 5G version for around $800. Dont get caught in 5G hype. If you are happy with 4g+ stick with it. I believe you all know that most retail service providers like belong, aldi mobile or woolies doesnt have access to telstras 5G network.

    • Cameras in the 4g version are no good. :(
