Transport staff are handing out free face masks.
Railway Square on that island strip bus stop, George St side.
Central, just before the escalator heading to Platform 16 to 23 from the Grand Concourse!
Probably got about 5pc between the two staff I met on the way to my train.

In Melbourne these are more intended as a "if you forgot your one" rather then a free for all.
I think that’s the idea, almost inclined to downvote this as people shouldn’t go out of their way to grab one if they’re already stocked up.
Oh yeah obviously not go out of your way to get 3pc (worth 30c in value maybe?).

If you're that desperate and can't afford masks, walk in to the local Big W/Dan Murphys etc and someone is bound to have one.
If you're thinking about the 'gain' in dollar terms, you're doing it wrong.

This reminds me of the "deal" someone posted like 6 months ago of face masks being given out for free in Apple stores. \o/
Also encountered them at the ferry wharf in circular quay.
My local woolies was handing these out when masks were first made mandatory in Sydney. Now, if you turn up without a mask, you can ask for one at the service desk up front and they give it to you.

This should at best be an awareness post that there are masks if you forget yours at the entrance.
It's not a free for all. Do you also take all the sugars and salt packs whenever you see them? If it's free, why pay for it at the shop?

Please don't abuse this. You save 5c on a mask you don't need. The gov probably pays some company $1 a mask, which of course comes from our taxes.
What's the trick to get them for free? You have to not be wearing one first usually.
If you don't have one then you get a fine.
