  • the question is - does it stack with the starthere.com.au moneyback?

    • +5

$100 in hand are better than $200 in bush (uncertain starthere.com.au/moneyback/buckscoop)

      • ^ that and the fact that post has been updated to note that it won't work with any cashback/referral credits.

  • Nice! will it work with save20 (20% off) and NRMA discount (10% off)?
Edit: it probably will as per post description. Thanks

    • would be great if we can get confirmation.
Last time I upgrade they won't give the nrma discount cause they gave me a 'speical' deal!

      • +1

I thought the NRMA discount wasn't available any more?

        • I think Vodafone is no longer participating in the NRMA/RACV group member discount, but their CSRs still think they are, so they happily apply them as long as you give them the member number.

They did just now on my plan.

    • Hmm, I think it only allows one promo code.

    • Only works with one promo code at a time. I just tried. Dunno about the NRMA discount. So far best deals would be the SGS2 and Galaxy Tab deals posted here.

    • +1

If I understand correctly, Save20 looks like it's only for selected post paid plans on three phones:
      http://vodafone.com.au/personal/plans/existing-customer/exis…

For example, for the Samsung Galaxy S2, the deal is only for the $49 cap plan. 20% over 24 months would be a saving of $235.20, which works out to be better than $100. However, for those who want a $29 24 month plan for that phone, or for some other phone, this promo code would suit better.

      • OK , thanks so it won't work with the 29$ plan :(

Also rep confirmed this below that the 20 % off is only for the specific deals on the link..

  • +1

Seems to work on the 10.1 samsung tablet/24 months also.

  • will this work for renewing contracts?

    • Yes, my contract was conveniently finished yesterday so I renewed on the phone.

BUT you will have to jump thru hoops to get them to agree to giving you the credit. They say this is for new customers only. However with our contracts up, technically we can sign up for new contract and obtain the same benefit. So definitely should be offered to us as well.

I had to spend an hour with billing and cancellation team to get it.

Don't take the 'upgrades' team's word for 'yes $100 can be applied by billing team AFTER you renew' - make sure they record the part where you will only agree if the credit can be honored.

    • +5

sometimes a plan may total for a price lower than purchasing the phone outright. Some people may decide to utilise vodafones plans as a way to get a cheaper price on the phone. This deal would benefit those people.

      • -2
      • +2

That's a good plan - if it was a respectable company, but too many people got burnt badly before. Why give them more business?

        • Because you get a cheaper phone, subsidised by them?

        • Vodafone haters

          1. Get the phone on the plan cheaper than buying it outright

          2. Unlock phone for free

          3. Toss sim card in bin

Vodafone makes a loss on the handset

          Game over

    • mate they are offering a 30 day guarantee.

      I don't necessary love vodafone,
but compared to Telstra and optus , they have had better value (provided there is reasonable network in your area)

Esp with the three to vodafone unlimited free offers

I have been with 3 for past 5 years and never had too many problems.

      • +1

Value is not a word I would associate with Vodafone! 3 was a different network.
It's illogical for people to go back to Vodafone.
They are playing on your tightarsed-ness guys!

        • i love when companies do that!

    • +3

U gotta move on mate, their new networks are working ok for me, their data speed up pretty fast too, cant complain

      • Do a compare mate, it's shocking, Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney at least. You don't know what your missing.

        • I'm paying $29 a month for over 2gb, 400 texts and $180 worth of calls and texts. I don't care that the speed of the internet isn't lightning fast. With Vodafone it works for me, and at a nice speed. For the price, I'm not going to complain.

      • Let people make their own decision, dont assume everyone except you is too dumb to decide from themselves. OBVIOUSLY the nature of technology is that after a year what you paid seems excessive but most people cant afford to upgrade on a yearly basis which is why we sign 24 month contracts and deal with having a slightly dated phone for the back half of the contract.

  • Only on first bill ? Was thinking of the $29 x 24 SGS2 offer but this means I would only just get $29 off the first month assuming I stayed within the cap limit ?

    • No, your account would be in $100 Cr and you would essentially get 3 months free service. It's applied to the first bill which means you won't pay a bill until the fourth month.

  • My OrderMinimum
    monthly spendOne-off costSamsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 - Pre-sale
    Colour : Soft Black $24 - Tablet Mobile Broadband (MBB) | 24 Month Data Plan | $15 Per Month $15.00 - $100 credit - online only - - Summary $39.00 - Free Delivery - - Total $39.00

    • How does this work? You ended up paying $39 in total?

      15x24 = 360 - 100 = 260. So, it should be 260, not 39.

      • The way he/she copied and pasted made it confusing.

$39 is the amount per month that Vodafone auto calculates for you.

        i.e. $15 + $24 for tablet and plan = $39 a month.

  • has anyone actually received this credit ,
do you get the 100 $ over the first 3 months ?

  • Can confirm works with Tab!!!

  • Can someone confirm that the $100 credit can be used past the first month.. ie, if I buy a 24 month plan phone, and get 2 months free.. will the credit still be able to be used for the following 3? months..

    • +5

yes it can - the credit will stay on your account until spent. Eg. if you're first bill is say $39 - you would be in credit and have a balance of -$61 which would cover your 2nd bill, and if any left, part of your 3rd month. Don't forget you're first bill may also be for more than one month as access fee's are pro rata'd and charged one month in advance. if you choose an offer with 2 months free, your credit will start applying from month 3

      • Hi Rep,
I am with three right now and I plan to take a second connection with the Samsung S2, Will I get the 20 % off second connection that you have on the site + this 100 $ off?

        http://vodafone.com.au/personal/plans/existing-customer/exis…

I want to take a second connection on the SGS2 29 $ plan

        • +1

The second connection discount is automatically applied and is seperate to any online discount/offer.

However, please be aware that the 20% discount for the GSII is only applicable to the $49 Cap as per the terms on the link you quoted.

        • Thanks for the confirmation Rep,
As I understand it I apply only this 100DEC code during check out and when I port the other number over to Vodafone , I will start to get the 20 % off ? Is this correct?

Thanks again for your prompt replies, got to love a rep that responds in time !

      • +3

        Hi Rep,
Good to see you responding to the queries.
How to get the NRMA discount online and this code combined?

        • +1

Unfortunately it isn't possible. The NRMA Partner discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional code/discount.

        • Rep with this 20 % off second connection deal of $49 per month.(http://shop.vodafone.com.au/mobile-details/samsung-galaxy-s-…) Is the $49 per month after the discount or does 20% get taken off that making it approx $39 a month? Also I have a PocketWiFi on a post paid account, can that be the first connection?

Looking forward to your reply ;)

        • +1

          Thanks. 100 is fine too.
          I am happy, I waited for SG2. its 696 -100 = 596 with 2 years calls and warranty.

      • I renewed my contract just now on phone advising them i had a coupon for $100 credit, they said they couldn't apply it in sales dept, they will fwd me to billing - which they did, but now billing is saying they can't accept the code as it's 'online only'.

However I was out of my contract, technically if i was advised of the correct information, i would have NOT renewed, and replaced a new order online.

Can you PLEASE talk to the support teams in India and update them of this code?

        • That sucks,

          Hope the rep fixes this

        • +1

          I had to speak to

Billing - CSR sucked, couldn't do anything, waited 45 minutes! then escalated to team lead - offered 1 month free only.

Asked to speak to cancellation - and the CSR there had more patience to listen and understand that it made NO sense to NOT apply this to out-of-contract customers - as i could have LEFT them, and come back as a 'new customer'. He spoke to his manager, whom approved this finally.

Glad the cancellation team's manager had common sense.

          Resolved after 55:28 on phone.

The team in billing has NO IDEA about this code. Best to do it online as new customer.

      • Hi Rep, I have two plans with Vodafone and will expire on 21st Dec. I want to upgrade to Iphone 4 (49 cap) plan. Can I use both RAA discount and SAVE10 discount for another service? And how to claim them? Please confirm. thanks

      • hi rep
i emailed vf earlier when this deal first came up as i had bought a fone they day before and wondered if it could be applied… i got a phone call today from them telling me there is no such offer and it is fraud?

        and she was from australia..

        any ideas

  • hmmm I had a look at their iPhone 4S plans a while ago and they were pretty poor. I just want a $29 plan and get better value currently on Optus $29 yes plan which I have. If this $100 can be combined with NRMA 10% off I might make the switch though.

  • How do you get the NRMA 10% anyway?

  • Nice, just signed up. I hope its $100 over 3 months

    • +2

I don't think any one reads the comments :/

  • I just ordered a tablet with $29 plan and the promo code was accepted.

  • Don't expect phone orders to be delivered quickly, I'm still waiting after three weeks for my prepaid order.

  • ReP for current orders when is the delivery likely to be ?

Do you have the SGS 2 in stock , can we hope to get the phones before Christmas?

    • +2

We are planning to be able to dispatch all orders placed up until midday on the 19th December prior to Christmas, however this is dependent on certain factors, eg. delays in processing credit check, or whether you live in a metro, regional or remote area. And yes we do have stock - but the offer is hot so the sooner you place the order the sooner your order will be processed.

      • -8

How about you concentrate all your energy on fixing the network in Canberra first.

        • +1

Personally, I wouldn't want their warehouse and sales staff fiddling with the network equipment.

  • Hi Rep
I received my order confirmation email from vodafone but it does not say anywhere that my order is also getting a $100 credit. Can you please throw more light on this?

    • When you buy online, there is a place to enter coupon. After entering it starts reflecting $100 credit online.
If it was there earlier and you put it in, it will come up in confirmation. I got mine.

  • +1 for showing some Ozbargain love <3 Best online community ever!

  • -2

It's illogical for people to go back to Vodafone.
They are playing on your tightarsed-ness guys!

    • Agreed, there is no point having a good value phone contract with lots of included calls if you can't actually make the calls (or receive them for that matter!!).

The fact that they were still trying to recruit customers for Unlimited* plans whilst they were running full page ads in the paper apologising for being so crap is still a laughing matter, and people should have longer memories with being burnt in this way.

      • Ill take your logic under advisment spook but we shall procede

    • +4

Dude, when you start repeating your comments verbatim in the same deal, you know you've run out of material. You've made your point already.

  • Rep, Please advise if $100 credit will work while moving from 3 to vodafone with SGII on $49 plan?

    • my friend just tried and no luck! the CSR kept telling her she is on 3, so no credit! :-(

      • Get her to sign up online anyways with the $100 credit, while porting her number to a prepaid $2 Optus sim card. The online process does not ask you if you would like a new number or old number. The phone will be sent with a sim card where you can call to activate with a new number or existing number.

You will have 30 days from the order date to port a number across, so there's more than enough time to port her 3 sim card to Optus prepaid and back to Vodafone to take advantage of the $100 credit.

        • hi kirynflare, I posted earlier to rep but no reply. My company is currently paying my bill and I just received a completed transfer form to my name. Old network is Telstra. Do I have to go to Telstra to finalise the name transfer? If I order this phone, how do I then activate the SIM with the number that I currently have?

          Thanks in advance.

        • As far as I'm aware, you get 30 days from when you order to transfer your number across.

i.e. If you order now, you get 30 days from now to get your name transfered and then to transfer your number across to Vodafone by calling their activation number.

From what I was told, they will send you an activated sim or something like that, so you'll have to start paying bills from when your phone is sent, not from when your number is transferred.

Hope this helps! If you need more info, I find that calling the Vodafone sales team (Australian based) is very helpful, especially since they are more similar to the online store than retail stores.

  • Just curious - how is that better than the $200 offered on Buckscoop?

    http://www.buckscoop.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=31054

    • the $200 is not guaranteed and vodafone are known to not pay it without any reason.

      • Its the choice between 100 in hand and 200 in the bush

        • Not quite. If Vodafone just does not credit you the $100 you are just in the same situation as cashback.
It would be different if you could go to any Vodafone store with your documents and they gave you $100 in cash right away.
If one does not trust Vodafone, they could screw one either way, both with credit and cashback.
          Moral of the story:

If you do not trust a company, do not do ANY business with them, regardless of how tempting their offer is.

        • +1

Gallifrey : I am not quite sure Vodafone can easily back out from this 100 $ offer after their rep comes here and defends it and explains it.

I have not seen the clear terms of the 200 $ offer from buckscoop , there is also a gray area regarding validation.

But with the coupon code when you apply it during the order process it clearly says 100 $ credit. This is why I think the 100 is in the hand.

but hey its a free country , all this is just imho…

  • OK. Thanks. Still wondering though as that would be illegal. And if Vodafone don't care about illegal, they could change their mind with any deal, right? The other deal is also apparently valid for 12 months plans according to the thread.
I guess everyone can decide for themselves. I am not in the market for any plan anyway - I was just curious.

  • Renewed plan b/c of the $0 on $29 plan for Galaxy S II.
+ NRMA member 10% discount for life of plan
Trying to get their billing department to accept this $100 credit, as I called in and not done online.

    • Can anybody use NRMA member 10% discount? I was told over the phone that $100 credit only if you take new number? Can u plz explain what deal have got?

      • New number or out of contract.

NRMA: discount you have to quote your NRMA member number.
100DEC: you will have to get them to commit to honoring the credit during the renew contract process.

Deal not applicable to someone that's already on a contract.

        • any luck? they have given me the 10% off, but are looking into the 100DEC as its online only. my contract finishes monday. got a supervisors name in the department that approved this?

        • Two ways.

          1. When you renew your contract on the phone - mention this coupon up-front (altho as they shortened the validity, not sure if you can still get it) & IMPORTANT:when they are reading the t&cs, make sure you mention it again as part of agreement to new contract.

They will say billing can do this for you - when you get to billing - they won't know a thing about it. Ask to be escalated to Cancellation - ie you now want to cancel contract as billing can't honor the coupon the sales team promised.

When you get to cancellation - the theme to keep referring to is : you were out of your contract, technically you could have LEFT voda and sign up as a new customer - but since Sales promised you, you now have a way out. Be nice to these guys: If they DONT give you the discount, say you will now leave - they will try and retain you of course. IT's jsut simple logic… always ask for them to speak to their manager if they can't do things for you.

          1. Port number out, cost $2, and bring back in as if a 'new customer' - takes longer (to port numbers) but you don't have to waste an hour sitting on the phone - waiting 90% of the time for them to get their acts together. No aggrevation…no arguments.
  • Meh never got my $50 credit from Vodafone. Will have to brave their call centre when I can find the time.

  • +1

Not sure has anyone asked this before, Voda has a current promo with Amex , if you sign up a 12/24 month plan using Amex card (need to register Amex card online)you get 7500 ponits, its value is > $50 , so was wondering if Voda Rep could confirm will this Amex offer could be used in additional to this $100Cr, 20% off, and 2 month free? thx!

  • if u have a vodafone service already, you can get 20% of the samsung galaxy plan

    • +1

Only on 49 Cap or more. Not on 29 Cap

      • Yes thanks for reading that correctly ,
        I got confused initially..

        • but this still works out cheaper, $100 credit

        • You can get BOTH!! Other standard offers advertised on the vodafone.com.au site will be honoured in addition to the $100 Bill Credit promotion.

        • it wont let me apply another code after putting one in. so its either 100 bill credit or the 20%? cant use both?

  • Please note change in expiry in description above - have just been informed of a change in expiry - the deal now expires tomorrow, not on 21 December as originally stated.

  • -2

Oh man now I'm itching to get this, but my Acer Liquid MT is less than 4 months old. I might just wait until next year and see.

  • If you are already with Vodafone how can you get the $100 credit and the 10% for a new plan? Is it possible?

    • no. either 10% from NRMA or thsi $100 credit.

  • +1

SWEET. So glad I waited till tonight to buy the Samsung Tab

  • +2

Just used it with the Samsung Galaxy S2 @ $29 offer. Hat tip to you kind sir.

  • If you're looking to upgrade to the next iphone when it comes out, DON'T sign up for a 24 month contract.. Kind of goes without saying really.. but I didn't think about it when signing up for the iPhone 4 on a 24mo contract, really annoyed that I can't sign up for a 4S until July 2012……… I guess by that time the iPhone 5 will be almost about to be released..

    • At the same time, I have 8 months left of my iphone 4 contract and I'm jumping ship. $600 for 2 years of access and phone, its a pretty good deal. I'm going to sell my iphone 4 for $300-$400 so really to swap over for $200? and 2 years of access is pretty good. I really don't care what an iphone 5 will bring to the table as I think its absolutely disgusting that apple will never allow siri to run on an iphone 4.. They'll never see another dollar from me.
