Looks like the Lenovo education store has a promotional price of $1779, delivered, on the Legion 5 with the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H and 1660TI. It was a little cheaper in November, but a good deal nonetheless. The retail store is still selling this unit at around $2699. Unfortunately delivery time is set at 8 weeks, though people on this forum have advised that theirs have been delivered a lot earlier.

The Lenovo Education store also provided me with the Coupon code of "HvbfZ5dl3Ln2" to get an additional 7% off at the shopping cart page. So you could have the opportunity to buy this laptop for $1654.47 delivered. Please advise if it works for you and I will edit the deal.

This unit also comes with 3 years premium care warranty vs the 1 year basic of a lot of other laptop deals.

    Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 7 4800U (8C / 16T, 1.8 / 4.2GHz, 4MB L2 / 8MB L3), not 4800H

It's a typo on their website. Legion does not come with a 4800U, only the 4800H. 4800U is 15w and for Ultraportables. 4800H is 45w and for gaming laptops.

    • Don't understand why got downvotes? https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5…
The link shows 4800U exactly from Lenovo!

It’s been discussed before (and I have already confirmed it via Lenovo Chat earlier this month). It’s 100% a 4800H.

        • I just state a fact that it is 4800U, which Lenovo website shows it. I shouldn't get the downvotes.

@zeey2014: Your downvotes are nothing compared to mine on another post…lol…regardless of UP or DOWN vote - take it as a compliment that others are reading your comments and made to effort to vote.

The biggest thing preventing me from pulling the trigger is the 8+ weeks waiting…unacceptable for me. I’ll just wait around for another deal.

Highly recommend waiting for CES to be over (this coming week) before buying a laptop.

    • I think I know what CES is, but wondering if the launch of new models really does push prices of existing stock down, in the short-term anyway. Have a BYOD to get for a high school student and am getting a little nervous about whether there will be any good specials before school kicks off. Any advice from the ozbargain brains trust very appreciated.

Looks like you can cancel in the 8 weeks before they ship the laptop and they only charge once it's shipped. In which case if you know you want it you could just place and order and cancel if something better comes up.

  • Great deal for Aus warranty. I posted the amazon US deal for $1625. Mine should be arriving Monday. Would be some nice peavw of mind if it were Aus though

Who wants to wait for 8 weeks for delivery time ? Lenovo fails again

  • Any way I can obtain this deal without access to edu store? Unfortunately, I didn’t think to sign up to edu store before I lost my uni email.

Wouldn’t worry about 8 weeks delivery. Mine was shipped within 10 days back in Dec even though had same timeframe. Great laptop

  • Anyway to pay this of in installment like Apple products?

Edit: ignore this question I saw the payment options.

Does cashback work with student account?

  • I bought this for $1,650 after speaking to the sales agent back in December.

The laptop arrived in 3 weeks from order. I'm really happy with it.

    • I tried online chat twice for a further discount and both times they refused. $1650 is a great price! Wish it was this price now.

      • Guess it depends on the agent? My person was quite good.

        • Did you call or do online chat?

  • I have just checked the store this evening and the price has been automatically updated from what I can see to include and reflect the coupon code: BACK2SCHOOL for 10% off the already reduced $1779 price.

This brings the price down to:

    After eCoupon:
    $1,601.10
    inc. GST & delivery

I'd say that's a pretty good price on the laptop, possibly the cheapest yet, but do note that news on the next gen 2021 Lenovo Legion 5 (starts from $1,999) and Legion 5 Pro (with the 16:10, 165 Hz screen, AMD 5800H and RTX 3070 for $2,849) laptops have just been released at CES 2021.

    • Where did you get 2021 series prices in Australia? I believe edu site will give you a discount, what do you think?
