Only Sydney/NSW. I asked online earlier and Brisbane is only getting stock in 3 weeks.
Me too. Have the option to still purchase but delivery won’t be until mid-Feb.
You can price match at good guys. I brought a 900t which js without the rear two speakers for $870 , price matched with appliance online
10 available in WA
Noob here, how does the arc compare to this? I have PS4 + smart tv and that’s my whole entertainment unit.
Just need to ad solid sound, was considering, this, the arc or the Bose 700.
Please help! :)I have used Bose 300 total system. Still using Sonos arc full system with ps5 not bad but didn’t get what I want, “a true immersive atmos sound from Bar”. also have beam, yamaha 108 also tried lot other speakers etc and watched tons of reviews, I believe samsung q950t would be far better. I’ll keep you updated after I tried them today.
Thanks, that would be awesome, I have a limited budget and can only buy one, sadly :)
So hopefully this is the one.Does Jb hifi price match with AO?
jb might do pm with ao. I have read other post other people did. you can buy q900, its single bar system.
@geeksman: Attempted to price match with Appliances Online at JB a couple of months back, sales rep refused claiming Appliances Online imported all their goods. Depends on the rep I guess, good luck.
Please do come back for the updates. Been looking at this one but not so keen on the rear speakers though so was thinking of either the LG sn9yg or bose700 for even cleaner set up.
I'm in the same situation as my receiver died a few days ago and even with in-ceiling speakers i'm going to move to a soundbar setup for simplicity. At this price i'm going the Samsung. The ARC+sub is $2kish… can't justify the extra $900 even if you don't need the Samsung rears. If you don't need the rears go the HW-900T as it's the same but without rears.. however with the minimal price differential just go the 950T even if the rears sit in the box. Who knows, you might just want to use them one day.
I will. Bose is good but I wouldn’t buy it because of lack of atmos, at this moment spend more than 800 without atmos is not smart move. Atmos is whole new level experience.
At this stage, leaning more towards the LG sn9yg, $891 at GGC. Samsung from what I'm hearing can't calibrate the room. My TV is not centred to the room, so might be an issue.
got it delivered today. I can say Samsung is way more immersive than sonos. I actually felt sound coming from all around me in atmos movies . Just make sure you have arc/earc tv and update the sound bar and read the manual .
I got the k850, the Atmos experience is barely noticeable. Definitely do not feel like the sound is coming from overhead that's for sure. Night and day difference between ceiling speakers and trying to bounce sound around.
Bose does not have atmos nor subwoofer or any rear speakers.
Arc is a better speaker because of atmos than Bose 700. If you wanna spend 3k then you will have the same Sonos setup that rivals 1k Samsung speaker.
Samsung ticks all the boxes. Some features will only work Samsung tv like Q symphony. For 3k you might as well spend the extra 1k and get the Sennheiser ambeo as it beats the sonos
But it’s placement can be tricky for most homes.
arc is an atmos soundbar also? is the samsung more immersive?
yes, as I heard. I’ll compare today
While nothing to do with sound quality I'd be interested to know how well protected the driver units are. My kids tend to use my current Samsung soundbar as a road for their cars lol.
I think sonos is more well protected but samsung has mesh fabric so ..
@geeksman: The Samsung fabric is a dust magnet. :(
How is Samsung's software compare to Sonos? Sonos app is good, especially when you listen to the radio a lot.
Price match at JB and use all those Him/her gift cards from the past month at 15% off or the zip deal at 10% off to bring this under $1k.
👏🏾
For those in WA, potential price match at Retravision with RAC additional 5% off
I wish the Yamaha ysp5600bmk2 would drop to this price it's a 5 year old soundbar holding on its price too well. But still beats the newest Samsung
I have the N950 which is the older model of this and it has been fantastic. I think I got it almost 2 years ago.
Very immersive.Great price. Picked up my Q90R for a similar price. If you can locate one of those, I’d highly recommend getting it.
The new one has a cloth finish which seems cheap and annoys me, secondly, the display is on top of the soundbar, so you have to be standing over it to see it. Absolutely horrible design. Other than those 2 small issues though, this kit is a beast.
Rtings.com say these ones are only on par with Q70R in terms of sound height for Atmos.
The only place id be able to position the wireless rears is close to the roof - would that ruin atmos, or could it adjust for that?
How do these compare with the JBL 9.1 sound bar? Currently on special at JBHIFI for $1195.
I know the Samsung has the rear speakers, but the JBL bar has detachable speakers that can run on batter for 10 hours or be setup permently as rear speakers and powered by mirco USB.
samsung is 13.1 (9.1.4) far better for sure.
Rtings said the soundstage and height was limited with both but this Samsung took out the overall best soundbar and the JBL was the best 5.1 (as it’s not a true 9.1 system).
Trying to decide between this and the JBL Bar 9.1 also. Getting a lot of mixed reviews when comparing these 2 regarding which is better. I have a Samsung TV with One Remote - not sure if this should influence my decision.
Price matched at Harvey Norman Nunawading with no issue.
They had stock and can collect at warehouse.
Also used 7.25% discounted gift cards.
Awesome deal! With young children in the house that cloth finish is a deal breaker for me. I don't know why they moved away from the metal grill from previous years.
Great deal, just cancelled a Sonos Arc I ordered on 27/12 for this. Arc was about $1400, was going to get the sub which is $999. Addin 2 One SLs for the rears and its near $3k.
Reviews mention some quirks compared to the Sonos, but for the $1k++ savings I'm happy to sort them out
As a long time Sonos user, I agree Sonos sound isn't the best and they are damn expensive, although streaming the radio off the internet is great, but what makes Sonos desirable is the software, it gets a regular update and it just works. At the end of the day, a system is only as good as the software that runs it.
As a comparison, the Yamaha Miracast can be a nuisance. Radio stops playing by itself or the wifi needs a resync from time to time.Completely agree. The Sonos premium is for the just works. And does it well.
Also I find the dialogue from my Beam outstanding, way better than my previous 5.1 sep system, even with room calibration and dialogue enhancement enabled on it
I was dead set on the Sonos and waiting to add in the gen 3 sub when it dropped down to $800+ again. But the prices for a complete setup is oof…
Really wanted to use Sonos Trueplay to calibrate the sound, but its iphone only and I run a fully android household… Think Sonos = Apple would be a good comparison
Is this the same as https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-hw-q950t-546w-9-1…?
yes
Can the rear wireless speakers work effectively on the floor?
Don't think so, supposed to be 2 feet above your ears apparently. Head height for our sofa is about 90cm, so ordered these

Have looked at multiple reviews on this and sound immersion is really great but multiple people experienced sudden dropouts. Has anyone experienced this?
yes it has drop out before but after the latest update its all good. and make sure you have high speed hdmi. and your tv support earc/arc. I have tried all day today with netflix/disney+ atmos not a single drop out.
I think I'll go with the this one over a JBL Bar 9.1 for the following reasons:
* Extra channels (9.1.4 vs 5.1.4)
* Apparently better mid-range, good for dialogue. I find myself turning my current soundbar up and down between talking and sound effects, so hopefully this will alleviate that.
* Seamless integration with my Samsung TV (JBL [/might/] also be seamless, whereas I [/know/] the Samsung will be)I'll tolerate not having the following benefits:
* truly wireless rear speakers (I have a power point handy, so not a deal breaker/maker)
* Nicer aesthetics (I know I'll hate cleaning the Samsung, but meh). Can anyone convince me I'm wrong?
I have just finished setting up this $@!$ soundbar. It does NOT play nice with my Harmony remote.
Reason being Samsung is stuck in the stone age and the inputs are changed serially with EACH button press. You cannot select the input individually like most sane/modern receivers. Kept loosing the eARC input as the video would change but input remained with the last activity on the Harmony remote.https://www.reddit.com/r/Soundbars/comments/fpiflr/getting_a…
Is a very good read and finally got it sorted.https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/3600476244…
This is similar tooDoes not help that the stupid soundbar screen is on the TOP of the bar and I have to get up to see what stupid input I am in. And yes I have tried to change it via the Smarthings app, did you know the inputs can freeze at times when you change it via app ?
Many many a murderous thought during setting this up. Many screams of "I should have kept my order of the Sonos Arc". Sound is pretty good though once its all setup. It is 0118 hrs and it took me 8 hrs ++ to finally setup one button use for the kids/wife on the Harmony.
You didn’t realize that the screen was on the top before you purchased it?
I guess that wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have other issues which necessitating looking it up in the first place.
I did, mentioned several times in the reviews, but didn't realise how much of a pain it would be trying to troubleshoot it in that location.
Its also quite irritating not knowing what the current volume is without walking up to it. And the display fades out after a few secs so needs a keypress to wake it up.It all comes down to how it sounds. I am long time sonos user. I have sonos arc full setup as well but Once 950 setup completed, 950 throws my arc far away. 950 is detailed also can adjust the speaker volume for canter/side/wide/front atmos/ rear/ rear atmos. watched the same movie I have watched in arc, can’t believe my ear. Samsung did good, If they can improve their app and add room calibration then no other bar can beat them with atmos sound.
@geeksman: Yeah I'm really hoping for room calibration as that was a big drawcard for the Sonos and even the my current Yamaha. But they really need to enable direct 1 button switching of inputs, apparently it can be done via home automation with a script
Anyone else having issues with the rear/satellite speakers crackling?
I'm running the latest firmware but hear this when playing in Dolby Atmos or 5.1. Doesn't always happen but when it does it's super annoying.
My rear speakers have a direct line of sight to the soundbar and subwoofer and are probably 4 metres apart.
This is out of stock buddy
