    • Maybe depends on state. Works for me in QLD. It's even in stock in most nearby stores.

Doesn't work in Vic. The blower is fine for the garage/small areas, but the trimmer is hot garbage (I have both).

      • I agree . Blower is good . The trimmer is useless for going along fences walls or anything really , which is the main point of a trimmer .

  • anyone on here have the Grass Trimmer and able to give feedback if it's any good? seems like a decent price for a combo and battery.

    • Pretty keen to know this as well. Might grab it just to attack the weeds I allow to grow for too long…every time.

      • Blades don’t last more than 1 hour of operation even if very careful. Blade replacement are expensive compared to line.

        • last time this popped up someone mentioned they 3d print replacements, sure enough on thingiverse you can find files for them!

          • +1

@perfectlydark: I've seen people using zip ties as blades. I haven't yet tested this on the Ozito trimmer though, but I think I will when my packet of blades runs out.

        • Yea that was one of my concerns. the plastic blades seem like they won't last long especially if it accidentally hits concrete or the fence.

        • +4

Pack of cheap blades from Aliexpress work well for me

          • @cooperdog: Thanks for the tip, even with expensive shipping they do work out cheaper. Even if they're inferior, I happy if they last a couple rounds.

        • I mean it'll likely only get a run 2 hours before a rent inspection every 3 months so might be worth it.

        • +1

I bought 50 blades for $7 on eBay. Search for Bosch blades.

    • +1

Yeah +1 for blade replacement, you'll go through them.. But it is great to use and refreshing with weight and especially noise over my honda petrol trimmer which I now plan to sell. Hopefully a stainless steel wire hack I can use for a longer term option..

I have the trimmer, and use it to tidy up weeds and do edging before I mow the lawn, for which it does a pretty decent job. I like that you can adjust the height and swivel of the handle. Like others have mentioned, the blades last maybe 2 or 3 sessions at most, and I sometime find if I hit a solid object, the blade will detach and I have to hunt for it (this doesn't happen all that often, and they're bright red, so not hard to locate again). I've seen people using zip ties as blade on regular trimmers, and might give it a shot on this when the packet of blades runs out. I probably wouldn't recommend this trimmer if you're the type to attack an entire jungle of a lawn just with a trimmer, as the blades are on the short side, and don't last a long time; but for simple edging and neatening, this thing is great.

Grass trimmer is ok. It's lightweight and easy to use. Plastic line is good enough to last one go. It's good enough to do just the edges and sides but its too slow if you want to use it in place of lawn mower. I bought it for 29$ on last sale with battery. Definitely worth more than that

    • The worst Ozito tool that I have bought and the only one I regret buying. Blades often fly off when you get too close to anything solid and when they don't fly off they wear very quickly when trimming against hard surfaces like bricks or concrete. Ended up taking to recycle centre (gave away) and bought the new Ozito line trimmer, which uses 2x18V batteries. Heaps better but also a lot more expensive. YMMV but that's my experience

I don’t know what ether people are doing, but careful and appropriate use makes the blades last a decent amount of time. In the 4 or so months I have had it I’ve maybe used 4 blades, and I use it weekly to tidy up my lawn edges.

    • Absolute crap due to the limited life of the short plastic blade and the replacement blades off Ebay are even worse than the original.

If you want to trim weeds near a border wall or around posts/fences this is not the trimmer for you.

I bought the just skin as I already have the ozito batteries.

Had it a few months, now considering the Aldi petrol trimmer instead.

    normal price for this pack

  • How are you supposed to clean up the mess after trimming the grass?
My very first attempt using this yesterday left the area in a mess state.

    • +1

I usually doing trimming first, then mow the lawn and let the mower get it all :)

Trim edges. Blow rubbish on to lawn. Mow.

      Alternatively.

Trim edges. Blow rubbish in to corner / garden bed / down the driveway.

Considering buying this just for the battery and charger.

I got into the Ozito PXC range with the Brushless impact driver from the last $40 deal
I dont have much need for the trimmer/blower though

You can get 2.5Ah battery and charger for $60 and save $39 if that's all you really want from this package.

      • thanks mate. Someone mentioned the 4Amp batteries go on sale for $40 and the fast charger is $30. I might do that for $70. Bigger battery and double capacity for $10 more. Not in a rush just keeping an eye out

Brought it a month ago, definitely normal price.
Very good and happy about it.
Light to handle, I had fun cutting the grass edge and blower is sufficient enough to clear out debris.
Still on my first blade cutting my small front/back yards.

The only issue is no safety, meaning if you press the button it immediately turns on potentially causing harm to yourself and anything close to it. I'm very careful whenever I use it full clear 1.5m social distancing from anything, gotta watch my feet.

  • Normal price, but good value if you really want at least one of the tools, as well as battery and charger.

Or flip the parts you don't want on Gumtree? Meh, marginal deal then.

The blower is OK, but will cover a limited area with the 2.5 battery.

    • My Ryobi One+ blower only worked 15 minutes with the 5.0ah, so I doubt the 2.5ah battery will be any good. However, the One+ battery died after only a short life so I'm not bothering with any more Ryobi.

I have a couple of 4.0ah Ozito batteries for the polesaw, hedger and recip saw. Those batteries are $40 at Bunnings when they need to match Aldi's cordless tool prices (every 6 months or so). Should be able to do my yard with both batteries. AEG 18v for the precision power tools, Victa 82v for the heavy duty garden (mower and chainsaw) and Ozito for gardening… Just wondering whether I should cancel this order and get the better line trimmer…

      • +2

Ryobi batteries are extortionately priced. I hope you got a warranty claim.

        • I got the blower kit for $90. Must have been in about 2014/15. Lasted about 3 years before it started to really decline. So while the Ryobi battery was very disappointing (and clearly inferior to the AEG and Ozito ones I have), I doubt I could claim.

The generic replacements are cheap on ebay. So I'll get a new cheap battery and gift the blower.

You will spend more time finding the blades in grass as they often knock off. My experience was very bad with this toy

just called my local bunnings in vic and they have it at the same price.. although reading these comments im hesitant on the grass edger, sounds like its pretty useless?

  • I went to bunnings Gladesville NSW and the guy there showed me the blower, grass trimmer and hedge trimmer kit for $100 clearance. Only 3 there left now. Wasn't on display but hidden away at the very top shelf.

    • Bit of a long shot, any chance you could share your receipt? My local has one in stock but not for that price

      • No problem. How do I reply with an attached copy to you?

        • Ah possibly by messaging me directly, or IMGUR I’m not 100% sure. I tried to PM you but you have it disabled on your profile

well this was always goanna be my Xmas present cause I'm sick to death of cords in the backyard. tried it tonight (along with the small mower from the same range).

for the price, not bad. didn't even have any issues with the plastic cutter thing, actually held up the whole cut even with several bumps into fences.

overall if give this kit a thumbs up for value. its not on sale, but a good buy

  • Stock still available at Rockdale and Caringbah bunnings if anyone is interested

  • Love the Ozito bladed grass trimmers myself. Takes some people a little time to adjust to being a bit skilled with using them. Trimming only grass the blades will last a long time, but if trimming around concrete paths or rocks they need some care or will wear quickly or fly off. I prefer new blades for grass but worn ones for trimming concrete edges, as concrete can chip blade ends off quickly. For someone who would appreciate how less noisy and how light these are comparison to the petrol ones or messing about with fiddly adjustable wires. Have had 3 back ops and I simply love using these battery operated garden tools for that reason.
