  • It says on the site:
    “ Join For $5 And Get $10 Credit!” (Not $1) 🤔

Chuck in an email and add to cart, it's $1 ($4 discount applied) :)

      • +2

        Huh.. I’m already a member.
Don’t think I would’ve paid… must have got it for free sometime ages ago? (Maybe in store?)
        Weird

        • How can i check if im already a member or not?

  • +4

Is it just a different email to be a new customer?

    • Appears so.

      • what if some crazy guy opens a hundred accounts and gets a hundred $10 credit lol

        • Not saying to do this but Gmail accounts can have any combination of a "." as part of your email address.

          • +1

@Hank Scorpion: Or just add +[anything] before the @ symbol and it treats it differently.

Again, not condoning it, but I've had to make a bunch of test accounts at software companies and this was the easiest way to centralise logins.

  • +10

I was in-store yesterday and when I was paying the guy said it is currently free to join - so it did. Then 30mins later got the email with $10 voucher.

Of all of the data harvesting programs out there, SCAs is at least somewhat generous in return with club specials and the price promise

    • +9

I like the receipt service - everyone should digitise receipts and send it out.

      • True automatic not have to ask for the receive a sms then put a email then….

        • I see you have been shopping at Bunnings/JB Hi-Fi 😌
New thing I learnt the other day is Bunnings does not send digital receipt for under $100 🤣 lol

          • +2

@OpayuOnam: I think they do through the self service checkout at Bunnings. I'm sure I've been prompted if I want a digital receipt.

            • @ayayron: Last time I specifically asked before I paid, I was told they cannot do it under $100… Or maybe it was $50.

                • @Agret: That's good to know! I usually go there later in the day an debt then all the self serves I my local Bunnings are closed.
Does make me wonder though if the staff lie about minimum for SMS receipt.

            • @ayayron: Self service does I think… pretty sure I did for $10

          • +1

            @OpayuOnam: Tgg as well hahah

    My question is this:

If I buy something with my club card and on boxing day they do 20% off store wide, will the difference be put on my card?

Or do they only reimburse if it's a catalogue sale?

    • +1

      Any price reduction.

      • Is the credit for the price difference automatic or do you have to ask for it? And do they notify you that a credit has been added to your account?

        • +1

At payment where you're asked to enter your card details, you can click Apply Credit. Check your account first if you're not sure.

    • +2

      on my card

The difference is credited to the club member’s account as a "Loyalty Credit", so you can only use it for SCA purchases within 28 days. See item 11 of the T&C's

      • What's the "Item no." ? is that our Card#

  • Umm. can't check out, filled all the details but Continue to Payment is grey.
Edit: worked on my mobile not PC

  • What to buy .. what to buy…

I already have a login to sca, how do I know if I'm a club plus member or not? I may have joined up in the past, but not sure.

    • +1

Yea, I'd like to know how to check this as well. I did have a membership, but have no idea how long ago.

    • +3

Sign in to your account, then look at the top right of the page near your name, if you are a Club member, there will be a "SCA Club Plus" icon you can click on that takes you to your account.

      • Excellent, thank you, yes, I can see my membership. It doesn't say how long more I have on it though. Is it an annual renewal thing or lifetime?

        • Will my membership expire?
Your Club Plus membership does not have an expiry date

          • +1

@capslock janitor: The problem is clause 4 in the T&C's where it states:

"Notwithstanding any other provision in these Terms and Conditions, we may terminate, suspend, deactivate and/or archive your membership if you have not transacted with or used your Card for any 24 month period. We do not warrant that your membership details will be kept and/or can be retrieved in the event that your membership is terminated, suspended, deactivated and/or archived pursuant to this clause. However, you may be eligible to reapply for a new membership, subject to the terms and conditions of membership at the applicable time."

  • I was in-store to pick up that smart floodlight deal Oz got going on last week and the staff literally offered me if i wanted to join for free.

Glad I did and got the $10 voucher via email.

    • Same here, yesterday went to SCA and they offered the membership for free.

  • +1

Got (pleasantly) surprised yesterday with this when buying the Sony XAV-AX5000.

Saw it said $5 for $10 credit, put it in the cart, and showed a $4 discount.

Has anyone able to pay with paypal just for this transaction?

    • +1

      Yes

    • I'm making the assumption you had the same issue I did, which was when you clicked the PayPal icon it didn't switch over from credit card to PayPal.

The credit card fields will still be there, just click the PayPal icon and then click the pay button, please give that a shot.

    • +3

If you have an adblocker, disable it and then retry - worked for me

  • Thanks op

  • Yes I paid for the membership $1 with PayPal without any issues.

  • +1

Anyone know when the $10 credit expires?

    • +1

      28 days from issue

      • I just signed up and mine expires on 17/02/21, so sounds like it is 8 weeks now (possibly temporarily, idk).

        • Mine expires on 17/02/21 as well

      • Apologies, for this offer it expires 17/02/21 but is usually 28 days

    • Upon paying the $5 club membership fee and approval of the Member’s application for Membership, the Member will be issued $10 complimentary Loyalty Credit. This credit must be used within 56 days from the date of club membership activation (AEST).

    • +2

How do we receive the credit? Still nothing in my email.

  • Thanks OP, just bought a membership.

  • Thanks so much.

  • I'm still waiting to receive my membership card (it's been over a year), and they haven't responded to the several contacts I have made via the website and phone.

    • ok $1 down the drain lol

      • not OK >:( where's da $10

        • login and check your account. i got mine there, thanks

    • -1

      Refund/chargeback after 2 weeks mate… why wait a year

      • Why would I do that when I received the $10 credit and used it? All I said was that I never received the membership card, and they don't reply to requests to send it to me.

    • -1

Don’t need card. Just tell them your phone number at the counter

    • -1

You dont need a card as long as you have your membership number or the mobile phone.

      • Need a card or not, are members actually issued a card?

        • iirc they used to give out cards when sign up instore (dunno online)

    • -1

Lol. Downvoted because Supercheap customer service is crap. Anyway, I digress. I can (and have) ordered online and received the points etc, both for delivery and click-and-collect. However, going into the actual store and attempting to purchase has resulted in a "Sorry, I can't find you in the system", despite my obviously being "in the system". Anyway, keep the downvotes coming.

    • yea me too

      • If you can login to your account, give them a call. On the "My Account" page, on the left, it says Customer Care (tel:1300175010) is available 7 days a week, "08:00 - 18:00 AEST" on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you have a mobile phone, then you don't need a physical card, just use an app to store and display the barcode. So you just need to ask Customer Care what the membership number on your card is, it will be "SCA" followed by 7 digits, like SCA1234567.

Here's the Android app I use, I just tried it and it let me type in SCA1234567, and presented me with a list of barcodes to choose from. Most were 3D barcodes, and only two were stripe-type barcodes. I found the one that matched my physical card, choose the stripe-type barcode that starts (on the left) with a thick black stripe followed by two thin black stripes. This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=protect.card_l…

The app has no ads, no internet permission, and only requires use of camera (to read the barcode from any physical cards you have), and access to SD card (to store your card details).

        • +1

thanks mate..i did say lost password- but they never sent an email . 2nd time no email. I'm not bothered to call them and sort it out it has been a year anyway

  • +2

    • +1

Are you sure you're not already signed in with a club account.

      • Yep that was it, if you are already signed in you'll need to first sign out.

        • so you signed up again with same, or new email?

  • I got this offer last time on black Friday. Bought myself a ~$12 torch

  • +1
