Galax GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 1-Click OC 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card $719 + Delivery @ Shopping Express

210

For those who missed the previous deals of RTX 3060Ti and don't want to wait too long from pre-orders.

This is definitely not the best price for 3060Ti, but it is a decent deal for it currently. (The best price from Fidelio's previous post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/588249)

My first post, please be kind :)

  • What is the best price though?

Can't believe that mid range tier graphic cards is 700 AUD now. Used to be sub 500 AUD. Can't wait for Intel to kick some sense to AMD and Nvidia in the future.

Introducing the new Intel 14nm++++++++++ GPU, almost as fast as a 1030?

Intel can’t beat anyone at anything. In every market they are going backwards.

      • +3

As much as I appreciate AMD and their success this year, and even after buying a Ryzen CPU this year, I am not going to say that they absolutely killed Intel and that Intel will never be able to come back up again in the future.

That is a pretty big claim, and as a consumer, less competition is a bad thing to wish for. Is it not?

Not really sure about the GPU side of things though.

        • +2

Intel gave up in 5G, they gave up on ARM, they are irrelevant in SSDs, Optane is bollocks, they can seems to go to beyond 14nm.

Intel had a near 40 year monopoly on X86 and can’t get their act together.

          • +1

@Grok: Exactly. That's what happens in a monopoly. Companies start slacking off and take advantage of customers.

Let's hope Intel picks things up from here so that the same doesn't happen with AMD.

As soon as AMD took the crown, they decided to increase their CPU release prices by 50USD. Doesn't look like a great start for a hypothetical AMD monopoly either. We need competition.

      • They'll throw money at it until their not

These arent mid-tier graphics cards though.

For example the gtx 660 was like struggling to do 30-40 fps on games at 1080p high on release. Where as the 3060ti obliterated games at over 100 fps on maxed settings.

A traditional mid tier in this line up would probably be more like a 3050ti as my guess.

      • Problem is next gen is just starting, 3060 ti is just benchmarking high on games that aren't pushing the envelope. The 3060 ti is already 30 FPS at 4K with cyberpunk. Once PS5 and Xbox get established we'll see how poorly these cards perform, especially at higher resolutions.

      • +1

Yes and the 3060ti struggles to do 30-40fps at 4k Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing on.

        • Yeah 4k isn't mid tier gaming, neither is Ray tracing.

My point is I use to be a mid tier gamer, so I have owned things like the gtx 660 in the past and it wasn't good enough to run games on high on release. That is what i class as "mid tier gaming" because you arent playing on high with it, you are playing on medium settings.

This is more than enough to do high, If you want a mid tier that you have to run games on medium from the start then you are looking for a rtx 3050 and even then that might handle high 60fps on release.

is 2060 Super mid range tier GPU on its era? priced at $690~$860 AUD on launch date.

and here we are at the end of year 2020; let's look at how much 2060 Super now.

      $651
      $736
      $649

so how can you not believe that 3060 Ti being mid-range tier GPU is priced at 700 AUD now?

and what is the logical explanation of the below? which mid-range tier GPU?

Mid-Range tier GPU used to be sub 500 AUD.

I'll challenge all those upvoted and elaborate why you agree with Chicken feed?

      Happy to be corrected!

My 1070 was $589 back at the end of 2016, with cheaper versions of it available

I think the issue is using RTX 2000 series as a value benchmark makes everything look fairly priced. Unfortunately that series had some of the worst value in a long time.

I suspect those talking about sub $500 AUD midrange cards are thinking about the GTX 1060 days as those were very popular and around that $400 - $500 price point at launch.

But going off the product naming is tricky since different generations of cards don't always align in terms of price. I think the more accurate way to track value is to see how much more performance you get at a certain price point.

      • I reckon no one will buy 2060 super at such prices. 2060super was $431.1.

        • -2

oh yes sir but how can you compare the scenario of purchasing 2060 Super at the end of year 2020 to purchasing 3060 Ti in Dec 2020 but still complaint that 3060 Ti should be sub 500? It is like saying 2060 Super should be priced sub 500 on launch date, which is total bollocks.

Do you really think you can buy 2060 Super in July 2019 at sub 500 AUD?

I reckon no one will buy 2060 super at such prices.

well i reckon you're wrong; i bet you even ozbargainers would have taken the punt in purchasing 2060 Super at 690 AUD MSRP.

@[Deactivated]: People mostly chose to not buy 20 series cards at all due to the prices. The entire lineup only account for 10% of market as of November, meanwhile the 1060 alone has 11.64% marketshare. It shows what a disaster the 20 series were and why it's never sensible to compare gpu prices with 20 series that nobody bought

            • @bobvegas: do you agree with Chicken feed that 3060Ti should have been priced sub $500 AUD?

              • @[Deactivated]: not that cheap but should be comparable to 1060ti(if there were such a model) and make price more expensive because it's not 2016 anymore. 1060 6gig sold for $450 at launch I believe. Prices don't scale very well if we are to believe 3000 series are again reasonably priced. They're just better priced than the crazy 20 series pricing.

  • (profanity) it man im tired of waiting for it to go sub 700 total. Got it for total $737. Does anyone know approximate arrival dates?

  • This card has a locked power limit 220W. If you're into overclocking, might want to find a card that has a higher power limit.
My oc results on this card weren't bad even with locked power limit. If someone has any luck with a higher limit bios let me know.
