Is iPhone XR really that bad? I am considering buying one to upgrade from my 6S plus when the XR goes below $700 on clearance.
I wonder which clown in Optus determines what is a rural area. They have no idea
What area are you considering to be rural that they haven't?
I consider lemon tree passage 2319 regional (1 hour north of Newcastle) optus doesn't
There’s something about the radio in the iPhone XR that’s really bad. Look at the apple forums on their own support page and on reddit. Obviously it won’t affect all users but there’s a large number of complaints with no solution.
I had an XR on Optus for 24 months and I thought it was Optus. Put in a Telstra sim recently (not a reseller/MVNO) and it’s worse!
Despite having 2 bars of 4g it will routinely not even send imessages. Phone works perfectly when connected to wifi.
So if you’re legit rural and you need a stable connection (and you can’t rely on wifi)… maybe go past the Xr

Probably go past Optus as well.
I’d say that’s a fair call
The 20% off is for 12 months only.
Checked out of curiosity. I’m not eligible based on post code (I’m on the acreage end of a mostly suburban suburb) but yet I left Optus a while back because they admitted that even though I am under 25kms from the CBD in brisbane, they cannot offer me adequate coverage.
I’d be surprised if many “rural” customers actually get coverage
Pity optus reception is absolutely shite in my area.
Almost as bad as the iPhone XR.
Not sure why they are offering other 5G capable phones for rural areas.
