  • Nope its not cheap, compared to other recent deals from Lenovo

Care to link? The only recent one I know of is the i3 for ~$410.

      • Thanks for the neg, FerretallicA.

Hmm, let alone the 13.3' it would be nothing special but if we do factor it, yeah a good deal. I withdraw my words here.

      • I did mean the one. It was round 399 in Oct and/or Nov from MSY and Centrecom.

        • +1

          Not exactly a fair comparison if it's between a 15" i3 and a 13" i5, don't you think?

  • meh

    Nothing special

    • Well, I can't seem to find another current generation i5 for ~$500 (let alone a 13").

        Agreed.
Please have some sort of relevant argument to back up a negative vote.

I ordered a E520 online from a previous offer. After your order it is built and sent directly from China (Nothing on the website informs this). Mine was DOA, that was nearly 2 weeks ago. After a multitude of phonecalls I am still trying to get it replaced. About to go to ACC. My advice, don't touch Lenovo.

What isn't made in China? Almost next to nothing.

        Hard Disks, apparently.

    • I ordered an E320 8 days ago, i3 2GB for $415.
Apparently it cleared customs on Friday, but hasn't turned up yet.

    • I also ordered an E520 during the last offer. Mine came within the 2 weeks they said and works like a charm. Very nice computer for the price. My point is that sometimes you just cop a bit of bad luck. It's probably not entirely good advice telling people not to touch them based on your DOA case alone.

      • I don't have a problem with the DOA, it's the after sales service. It has been terrible so far. Won't talk to me without the invoice which is emailed out a week after delivery. The person you then make the DOA report to gets it wrong apparently and you have to start again. After they get that report right they give you a number to ring someone else who will then generate the DOA number which takes 3 days. You can then take that number to Lenovo and have them redirect you to the wrong person twice and tell you that your resupply will be added to the back of the manufacturing queue in China. I am still waiting for the call back that I was promised 2 days ago to confirm this order has been placed.
This seems way outside of consumetr guarantees.

  • Why neg me, my point was if it is being delivered from China they should say so. This does seem to have impact especially in a warranty situation when I am being told that my DOA new laptop has to be remade and delivered from China. Talk about Neg-happy!

    • i would be surprised if its not made in China. even some holden are made in Korea.

after sales service is always bad, not just lenovo.

  • I order my i5 E520 late last month for $515. order on Thursday and received on Monday, only 3 working days. working great! I don't care where it was made.
