  • Does it work on the surveillance system? Would be a great buy…

  • Had a look at these in the morning. You are better off signing up for $50 and choose whatever you want to buy. Unless there is something worth much more than $50 in the list.

  • Seagate NVMe SSD is SATA. When you click into the product
    Condition:Brand New
    Storage: 4TB
Models: Firecuda 120 2.5" SATA TLC

Admittedly, a 4TB SSD is ridiciously good value, to the point I'm considering signing up with my second eBay account to get it.

    • That can't be right

    • would like to know this as well!

  • seems to be seagate 4tb ssd is part of the ebay gift promo, can anyone confirm this?

and will it work if you've signed up to ebay plus before?

  • That is ridiculously good value if they offer the 4TB SSD.

  • My plus membership is up in a month or so, does anyone know that if you cancel and then re-sign up if this works?

    • +1

      Answered my own question:
If you cancel but still have plus membership left over, the sign up links don't work.

    • Easy. Just create a new account and make a purchase.

      • A purchase might not work. I have 4/5 purchases but I'm ineligible don't know why

        • Happened to me a few weeks ago. Account barely had any purchases. I made like 2 or 3 then instantly I became eligible

  • Where can I find the banner. I cant see it

  • Anyone tried ?

  • +34

Just took one for the team. Seems like the voucher code they give you is only to the value of $69.99.

The 4TB SSD listing probably had a lower capacity/model listing before which was <$69.99, but since it sold out, only the 4TB one remains.

    • Thanks! That isn't a great value unless you already wanted something from those eligible items. They also appear to be jacked up in price too lol

Plus, it is also ONE gift per account, so if the more exp items are sold out, you're stuck with the ~$20 items LOL

    • Yeah that sucks, thanks though man

Oddly enough, there's only one 4tb ssd left

    • I wonder if you can redeem $50 voucher and then get a "free gift" as well

      • they track which link you sign up with unfortunately. the link has a code

        • Ah ok, would be a great stacking if it worked

        • Last month when they had the $30 free gift, I got both. Used the $50 sign up link and the free gift code showed up too. I did it on 3 different accounts

    • thanks i was just about to sign up and try get the 4TB ssd

  • +1

I think you're getting $50 off any of those items for joining.
I could be reading it wrong.

    Edit: $69, see above.

  • This doesnt sound right… maybe the code only takes $49 off the product?

    • +2

      $69.99 off

  • -3

    DOES NOT WORK

    • nice. now i'm tempted to try

      • does this still work?

    • not working? cancelled but its still there, i think it charged me? within 20 mins

        • +1

          well..
          wasted my money.

            • @skido: I did that..
on paypal and it still charged me somehow
also cancelled ebay plus but still says i have it untill next year.

            • @skido: Good job!

              How long did this take?

              1. wait until the payment fails email comes through
        • Does the code only work for selected items?

        • Hey couldn't get past step 7, but got the free gift. Thanks!

Step 7, might need to be done next day as membership appear still valid for 24 hours.

          • @shap08: Thanks homie. Just got Monster Hunter Switch. Now waiting for cancellation email. Does the $50 voucher need to be used immediately or can we save it for later?

            • +1

              @cyrax83: Within 30 days

                • @skido: Just checked.
"To apply this coupon code you need to be an ebay plus member"
and it doesn’t work on another account with ebay plus membership

So use the coupon code with 15 minute window.

I just signed up again and the $50 coupon code is same.
                  MPLPLRXVDG85QM

              • @Pricebeat: Not working on my other accounts sadly

Sorry, you're ineligible for this offer due to lack of purchase history. You can still unlock a range of exclusive offers & free delivery on millions of Plus items if you join eBay Plus.

        • What do you think they'll cancel first, our eBay accounts or our PayPal accounts?

          • @puffinfresh: ebay doesnt have control of our PayPal

            • @skido: Welp. Free Monster Hunter Switch and got a $39 Pro Controller for Switch. Happy days

Also use the $50 voucher within 5-10 minutes as you need to be ebay plus member to redeem

        • Hardest part is choosing a gift!

    • lol yeah can confirm just did it lmao thanks for the free ssd haha

  • +1

The SSD listing has been updated with more stock (on the smaller capacity/lower tier models).

The code is only enough to cover for a 250GB Barracuda 120 2.5" SATA TLC ($60).

    • Ah damn, thanks knew it was too good to be true.

  • transaction doesnt show up in paypal.

  • I got an app notification about this, but lost the page after looking at some of the items and I couldn't find the deal again. No doubt I'll sign up and they'll claim I'm not eligible.

  • +1

Absolute solid deal, Got the 250gb ssd and 1L canadian club, free. However i might keep the ebay plus.

  • Can it be used for someone who had ebay plus before?

  • +19

I was tempted to go in and get a free item, however my moral compass would not allow me to do so, even when I have no love for ebay- with all their gimmicks of % off and then price jacking.
    I will let it pass..

    • +4

Good on ya for not being a thief

  • +14

Not worth 'tricking' the system tbh. If they suspend your Paypal, you can say goodbye from ever using Paypal again.

Other the fact that this is no different to stealing.

    • +4

Yes if you study their system it's clear they have the ability to data match fake accounts via Paypal.

Risking soft bans considering how much bargains one can get on Ebay a year is pretty shorty sighted. But good luck to the contenders out there.

  • -4

Honestly, do people want businesses to survive?
If I was eBay, I'd ban everyone who takes advantage.

I know it's eBay, but alot of businesses are struggling and it just seems there's so many (profanity) opportunist on this web site who don't give a f**k about anyone but themselves.

Can't imagine how many (profanity) lo*ers frequent this website. It's honestly full of scammers, always trying to scam a deal.

I love a bargain, but I don't like trying to scam a legit business. Weather it's eBay or someone else, it's just not right.

I know, not everyones like that and some people are decent but trying to jack money from a business is poor form. I hope it's just the broke bums doing this and not anyone who actually owns a business or works for a struggling business.

    • +2

I actually stayed subscribed. I had no interest before this deal. So there marketing ploys worked. Not all bad

      • +1

        That's absolutely fine!

This happened last time with Amazon, everyone signed up and then cancelled for a free item.

Now you're seeing online stores increase the minimum for free postage, and charge for returns due to abuse.

    • -7

You don't get ahead in life by being honest and following every rule in the book. You gotta play in the grey area.

  • -7

I always see people remove their comments because their scared of having negative votes 🤣🤣🤣

FYI, Negative votes mean nothing. Just means someone read it and had a boo boo & cried 👍

  • They will cancel it because the payment failed, so you get nothing anyway.

  • Just got the free gift code, where do i use it though?

    • +1

you don't get anything for FREE

    • How did you receive the code?

In your messages in ebay or did they email it to your registration email (which they won't let you change, so if you joined ebay twenty years ago and changed your email address, you can't change or access anything they send to it)?

  • On the home page without an account it says

4 days of Christmas deals with eBay Plus
Launching 7/12 at 2pm AEDT. Start a free 30 day trial today.*

Not enough details for a post though.

    • +1

They won’t be able to afford that now after this.

  • How do you know which gifts are eligible, it doesn't really say…

    • there was 3000 (now 2800) odd listings based on the link in the email I got
some of them are oddly specific items
      https://www.ebay.com.au/e/coupon-offers/plusgift
      .

      • It’s pretty clear it’s stuff that isn’t selling well haha the booze options are quite limited

        • I went boring, got some $60 flea treatment for the rat catchers
          .

  • can anyone suggest if it is still working?

  • -6

still working, did on 3 accounts so far, free gifts!!! sure feels like chrismas !!!!

    • +4

Santa is bringing you Paypal bans too
      Hello data matching

      • -2

i shit on paypal, i can make a new account in 10 seconds, use cousin details or whatever, paypal is nothing

        • lol yea, clearly you haven't experienced their data matching. You can google around 'PayPal limited my account' and see what others say.

Say you do manage to create a new one that lasts longer than a few days, you need to build some history before you can use it to make payment anytime you want (during anytime more chance of them closing the new account) and wait until they request ID proof.

          • -2

@tajid: you are talking about paypal as if i couldnt pay without it, still i say the same, i shit on paypal, irrelevant, as i said, will create account using my cousin real details and use it, nothing to match here

            • +1

@badsadlad: Plenty more to match. Not going to go in detail as you can read through more details online. Once they've permanently limited your account, it is very hard to have a new one that you can use.

While Paypal doesn't monopolise the market anymore, not having Paypal may have more implications to others (not just you) hence my very initial warning.

  • Well i signed up a week ago and all I got was a $30 voucher still better then nothing I guess lol

  • Ok, weird..so I signed up and got the gift, but no payment taken from my paypal or bank account.

I am extremely confused right now, it has been an hour since then as well

    • I could only find the payment on the mobile app, settings and automatic payments. Scroll to ebay. And cancel.
This seems slightly dodgy on their end tho

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed SSD for free.

  • is this expired?

  • I'm having issues. Good post for those who get it

  • +1

    he's right - POOR EBAY.

    yea, right

  • +2

if ebay can afford a promotion of 4000 AirPods at $150 off on Black Friday, they can afford 500 (more or less) free gifts at $70 off :p

this won't make a dent on eBays balance sheet

    • Exactly. Let's make 30 accounts! I'm sure no one will get hurt by this! Big corporations = bad! Supporting small businesses only! This is the Australian spirit here! Kettles are still pots!

      • no one's gonna get hurt. My post is just more (free) marketing for the eBay Plus program. This post is way more effective than the ebay plus bus stop ads in which they actually pay for.

      • You can’t make 30 accounts offer is only valid on accounts with enough purchase history

        • +1

buy a few $1 items and it becomes valid. But nonetheless don't risk it
