    8th gen, no thanks.

    • Hi Adrian, What specs are you after?
      Kris

R4000, 16GB, 512SSD is the minimum spec today.

        • +1

I was just about to say that. But hey I'm doing well with my 4600u and 8gb ram. Issue here with this post is the 8th Gen Intel 🤣

          • -1

@adrianhughes1998: Thanks, these are run out models, hence the 8th Gen Intel.
You'd be surprised how many business customers pay double this amount for the 8th Gen Intel HP Dragonfly models. They are lighter and more portable but not by much.
If you are looking for a more powerful CPU and better bang for buck, check out our Metabox range.
The current promotion will be ending this week. You can upgrade and downgrade each model to have the perfect spec that you want :)
Maybe something to think about when you are ready to buy a new laptop.

It's a very nice 2-in-1 laptop but unfortunately it's just terrible value

    • it's age, Coffee Lake is 3 years old now
    • PWM flicker
    • privacy screen limits viewing angles

    Meanwhile,

You can get the Dell XPS 13 7390 direct from Dell with touch display for $1,580.06 using the LOVEKEANU coupon code.
    These are it's specifications.

    • Win10 Professional
    • Core i5 10210U
    • 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD
    • 13.3 inch InfinityEdge Touchscreen display
    • Weight: Starting at 1.23 kg (2.7 lbs)
    • 4-Cell, 52 WHr, Integrated battery

That leaves you enough spare change to buy a much better 1440p monitor.

Note the XPS's are all clamshell laptops and the display won't fold all the way back into tablet mode. you might want the Lenovo Yoga X1 G4 for around $1.5k for this form factor.

    • Thanks. Just ordered Yoga g4, with 3 years on site warranty.

    • Hi Scrimshaw, I have a couple of cheaper HP bundles that I will upload tomorrow. I look forward to your analysis ;)
I don't think the Dell has the Pen or 3 Yr onsite warranty but I could have missed it.

      • Any deals on QHD/UHD monitors around $220 mark? 😉

    • scrimshaw - I just put up two more cheaper HP models. Please take a look.

  • Not a great deal being such an old model.
Client picked up a Thinkpad X1 Lenovo Yoga yesterday for $1950 from Lenovo site.
It had i7, 16gb 512SSD 14" 2-in-1 with a 360-degree hinge Up to 18 hours of battery life Includes a rechargeable ThinkPad Pen Pro. Add 3 year onsite for $184. Was a Decent Deal which appear from time to time.
    .

    • Up to 18 hours of battery life

Yeah that's all marketing BS. You'll be lucky if it lasts more than 5 hours on battery with basic tasks.

      • +1

Agree about 18 hours but I have got a good 12 hours on one of these recently…….and screen on bright as was working outside…..was auditing stuff and a long non stop day. It will do a lot lot more than 5 hrs unless a gamer or pushing it to absolute processor limit?

        • 12 hours, wow that's good to hear from a real world situation.
As fireforce said, most laptops are lucky to get 5 hours.

  • FYI this series is naturally overpriced, ie:
    HP EliteBook x360 1030 G7 2-in-1 Notebook
    Price (exc. GST): $1736.70
    Processor: Intel Core i5-10210U
    Ram: 8GB
    Hard drive: 256GB SSD

    An alternative (reasonably priced) comparison:
    HP ProBook x360 435 G7 2-in-1 Notebook
    Price (exc. GST): $969.59
    Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 4300U
    Ram: 8GB
    Hard drive: 256GB SSD

(Government contract pricing, though similar retail pricing will likely be available)

    • Big difference in build quality,
Regardless, feel free to incl a link to $969.59 (ex) pricing.

  • Elitebook 800 series is a good medium ground - better build etc than ProBook (and lighter) but not as sleek as 1000 series. Benefit is that parts in 800 series are not soldered so you can add to or replace the RAM
