  • Interesting..the desktop $4.90 version says it expires 2022…

    • yeah showing $4.90 on desktop browser for me

      • +2

need to use Kogan app to get discount

    • Updated, thanks!

  • +1

Looks like no more deals for amaysim since they have been bought by another company. Take my money Kogan. Lol

    • Optus bought amaysim but it will remain a standalone brand

  • Bought. Thanks OP!

  • +1

It's showing as "From $49.90" in the app for me

    • +1

add the items into your cart first on desktop, then sign into your account on the app, they should be in the cart for you.

      • Thanks for the tips. Finally got it to work.

    • +2

Same here, add item using browser for 4.90, then go to app and it says 4.90, then checkout, it will reduce to 3.90 for me

  • I just purchased some international minutes pack ($5), and it also got reduced to $4.

So it's likely it's reducing mobile product by $1.

  • This price wasn't showing up in App so followed the trick of adding to cart via desktop. Did anyone try this as first app order and using APPLOVE code to get it for free?

    • +1

When and where did you input APPLOVE?

    • What's this APPLOVE I hear?

      • See this thread - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/587052
First time App users - instead of total $5 off, it is taking $5 off each item including multiple counts of same item. This includes kogan gift vouchers as well. There are some exclusions like Apple products. And is mutually exclusive with this 5% discount.

        • +1

Thank you, now to work out were the code box is!

          • @Yiannakis50: Coudnt find it neither

            • +2

@becool: I tried logout and adding an item in cart. I now see that there is an instant 5% discount in cart itself and didn't see box for code. Earlier today morning when I placed order, the 5% discount wasn't showing in cart but at checkout so there was coupon box and then when you hit checkout, then at payment page it was showing 5% discount. Not sure if this is the reason why you all are unable to see the coupon box.

              • @bajirao: Will APPLOVE still work for the usual $4.90 deal and get me $5 off to get this for free?

  • Thank OP, got one.

  • Thanks @harrylovevee.

These are my home internet. Faster, much much faster than Telstra.

    • Do you use these for hotspot?

      • I use it. Sadly Vodafone network is not that stellar compared to Telstra which is very stable.

        • +1

Telstra only becomes usable at about 2am or 3am.
At thus very moment, I can't even watch Instagram video posts without buffering and freezing on my phone at this time.
I have to switch the Voda/(Kogan) for mobile data.
Forget trying to watch Netflix/Stan etc on TV at any time besidee ridiculous hours of the night.

        • Nah, Voda has been good in my area. 50/50 for me with Telstra. Optus is also pretty good.

      • +1

        Yes, hotspot as home internet.
Stream TV, (I don't online game) witjout any issue at all.
All the regular internet home connection too. Tablet, mobile, WeMo lights, Xiaomi home, etc etc

        • I thought I was one of the few that did this. Atm I’m using Optus for hotspot around the house, we use it for TV, the PS4 and everything else and it seems to work perfectly as well.

  • Thanks OP! Purchased!

  • Got a Q I thought I'd throw out here before I went to the bother of calling them. I have a current amount of Kogan that expires 22 Feb. I bought the 1 year deal last week that I need to activate by 15 January.

Will the 1 year add onto the current time, or will it overwrite it? thx.

    • +1

      Overwrite.

  • How does this work? Is it just this price for the first 30 days and then it's full price from that point?

    • AFAIK the cheap recharge voucher can only be used on a new SIM. Recharges would be whatever a voucher costs, so maybe full tilt.

    • Yeah it’s only for the first month after activation.

  • I use this in conjunction with the current Amaysim sales. For Amaysim, we can switch to Pay As You Go sim ( valid for 365 days) to wait until it surpasses the 30-day minimum before porting back to Kogan again.

    • What do you do for data in the off month?

      • I have 2 numbers, which port in/out on different dates. When one number remains as Pay As You Go account, the other would be used as a personal hotspot for data.

  • +1

I went and bought one. Thanks OB !

  • +1

I know in previous deals, you could use the voucher codes they send you even if you weren't a first time customer. Does it still work here?

  • What's the experience in porting in and out of Kogan? Ive oly been bouncing around between Optus, Vodafone, and Amaysim where I'm used to doing it on the last day if it isn't a weekend.

Is it easy porting in and out of Kogan to do it on the last day as well?

  • Is it true Kogan wont let you port in and out any more?

    • I ported out 2 numbers from Kogan just early this week. No hassles. To play safe, I would port out the day before the last day.

      • LOL i was with SimTel for 31 days and still they refused

  • I noticed kogan say "Was$69.90Save $65 (92%)", but their normal price is only $49.90, so apart from faking their normal price and the discount, will they charge people who forget to port out/cancel $69.90?

  • Is there any chance something inside the app will intercept the paypal login?

I don't usually trust the apps.

    • +1

      Yes, I paid with paypal.

      • Thanks, I just realised it's friday and I'm tired. I wrote the wrong thing above. If it intercepts it then I can just change the password. Lol.

  • New problem. I can't get it to launch the app. ;-(

    Android user here.

    • Same. Although from the wording, I take it this is not supposed to be valid today anyway…? Even though Ozbargain system shows it's still valid until midnight tonight

But I can't even view the listing on my Kogan Mobile app cause I have the same problem as you, so I can't verify it

  • Got one thanks OP ! Unfortunately not many good prepaid SIM deals floating around these days

  • +1

it says limit 1 per customer, but I'm able to make multiple separate orders

    • shhhhh

      • Where does it state the limit?

I ordered 5 but only received one voucher. I'm worried, but I can still go into the portal and cancel the order.

        • When you click that link, it's right under the price under "$4.90. Was $69.90"

I got emails with different codes for all my orders, maybe just wait 5mins and it'll come through

          • @sakurakiks: Yeah, I had to wait a few mins, they came through so I bought more. I decided to only buy 2 months worth. However, you never know if there will be another sale, so I didn't go all in for the 4 months. x_X

    • I tried to order a second time, but the app wants to charge $4.90 instead of $3.90 - how do you make multiple separate orders, just create more accounts?

      • To answer my own question, I just checked the app again, using the same account details (after the deal was marked expired here), and was offered the $3.90 price again.

  • Good price!

Could I use this on my ipad to get data access? I could get a bunch of these sims and at the end of each month, then activate a new sim?

    • Same question

    • +1

Yes, that's what I do for my iPad and my home internet as well.

  • 90 days for $13.90 for those who can't be ass'd

    • +1

      only 60gb though
