You might have selected express or something. You can charge it to free delivery in your order items still. Although personally I wouldn't touch the order
You shouldn't be charged any thing for delivery. Which delivery method did you chose?. Was it some express shipping option through a courier you chose instead of the standard free delivery?.
I pretty much just hit Buy Now without adding to cart, says expedited delivery in the confirmation email. but like you said no chance im changing the method based on comments i have seen in the past
I dont think it defaults to free shipping if you aren't a prime member, like others said should be able to change it. I nearly had that happen to me once and saw it at the checkout.

@Schumi5: All I know was there was like 3 or 4 shipping options and it didn't default to free. Not sure if I was prime then to be honest.

How many parasites gonna resell tho
One just has to take 5 seconds to look at eBay AU to see the parasites reselling PS5 consoles for any thing between say $1500 to $2000. For a console which sells at retailers for $750. How lame are these scalpers. The same scalpers which would of paid $750 for it on preorder. And now they are asking over double the price. That is almost criminal.
But what about bids where people are paying for that price?
Heaps. For example there's one with bids currently at $1525.

@hollykryten: So if someone started the Auction at $1 and it goes for 1300, why is that being a rip off artist? They never misled anyone. Everyone knows how much these things are at RRP and some are willing to pay premium to get their hands on one now. So someone comes to you and for some unknown reason offers you much higher market value on your home and you won't sell? Do you become a rip off artist if you sell at that price? You make no sense. Seems like you are just upset people are making easy profit.
Why criminal? Nobody is forcing anyone to bid or buy. If there's someone willing to pay that, so be it. Demand and supply applies to everything.
If someone sells used car for well over its market value, are you going to get upset over it as well? If you think it's not worth paying premium, move on.
So if I was to sell my Rolex watch which I bought 3 years ago now, do I have to sell below RRP to remain ethical? No, I would sell it for whatever the market is willing to pay. Some people really are weird with these things.
If I'd bought one to play on for $750 and somebody offered me $2000…. Not sure I could justify saying no. Otoh buying it just to resell is scummy.
And how will you be able to judge that from just looking at the listing.
I'm sure there are many out there who bought it with the intention to play then got tempted by the crazy prices prevailing and thought they are happy to sell and buy it again when stock levels return to normal.
Personally I think the ones who abuse others for doing what they want with their time and money are the scummy ones. They are just childs with sour grapes for not being able to get their hands on one. I'd say grow up. It's only a video game console.

With so many people out of work there are a lot of people with a lot of time on their hands. You can't live in poverty on Centrelink and can't get a job
Im with you, my pro is still going strong and will for a long time. Rather wait till the bugs are ironed out like every launch.
You can also resell your PS4 pro for way more now because of Christmas and covid.

I'm only playing PS4 games on my PS5, so the PS4 is definately still a solid choice.
Though my PS5 is significantly quieter than the jet engine that was my PS4 Pro, and I also get quite a few extra fps also.

I reckon it was scalper bots. As soon as the scalpers found out about it that was the end of it. They probably have a system which monitors Ozbargain for PS5.

Oh and the Aussie bargain app has an auto alert feature for keywords, notified me immediately and got one - I recommend trying, may be another drop before Xmas.
@hollykryten: The "bots" aren't going to be setup to scan ozbargain for PS5 deals, they'll be setup to scan the relevant sites directly.
Want a disk version, but end of getting the digital version :( I remember some lucky buyer receive the disk version when buying the digital one. That will make my day if it happens lol
