I didn't realise when I posted on Monday that Reward Gateway are having a week of daily deals, so I missed yesterday's. Today it's an increase to 15% off on iTunes and Red Balloon eGift cards, which were previously 5% and 10%, respectively. The good thing about iTunes is they can be purchased in any amount (i.e. none of the "Can't be used with $20 cards" nonsense), but note they cannot be used for hardware or in Apple Stores, they're only available for use online and purchasing software, apps, books, and any subscriptions you've previously done through the service, such as Netflix.
Special T&Cs for iTunes:
- Purchase an Instant eGift Card of ANY denomination in whole dollar amount.
- You only pay the face value of the Instant eGift Card LESS the % saving listed below.
- The Instant eGift Card will be available from your ‘My Account > My Instant eGift Cards’ straight away.
- Go to the iTunes Store and click 'Redeem' - enter your Instant eGift Card code and the credit will be added to your account.
- Redeem your Instant eGift Cards at the Australia iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store and Mac App Store
Special T&Cs for Red Balloon:
- Purchase an Instant eGift Card of ANY denomination in whole dollar amount up to $4999.
- You only pay the face value of the Instant eGift Card LESS the % saving listed below.
- The Instant eGift Card will be available from your ‘My Account > My Instant eGift Cards’ straight away.
- Browse online at RedBalloon, and use your Instant eGift Card to pay for your experiences.
- We’re sorry, but we cannot provide refunds for Red Balloon Instant eGift Cards.
A couple of points about Reward Gateway (since they usually crop up in the comments):
It's an employee benefits program that you would have access to through your workplace. Generally it's aimed at larger companies, so if you have an employee benefits program available then check who it's with. Random people are not able to join directly.
I personally find the best way to purchase eGift cards and keep track of cashback is through the Smart Spending app. The gift cards are stored and activated through your account, and you simply scan a barcode off your mobile phone screen. It's available from GooglePlay and the Apple App Store.
- You may see a CC surcharge for purchases. Not all eGift cards attract it and I haven't actually been charged myself. This is supposed to be plainly shown during the purchase process, but don't be surprised if you see up to 1.5% premium added on your statement - it's wise to factor it in before deciding if this is a great deal for you or not. (Please report in the comments if you can confirm that you've been charged but it wasn't shown during purchase.)
snack those TCN discounted gift cards (10% now from BigW, or 15% from Coles previously), then wait till JB has 10-15% iTunes discount :)
