    Looks to be a 4th gen i3 4130 2C4T, 2 SODIMM slots (DDR3), most likely 2x4GB sticks.

    • Yes from what I could see it's a 1150 chipset with 2 ram slots

replace hdd w/ ssd and you got a not terrible grandparents pc

      • Wonder if CPU is soldered on. Otherwise HP says there is i5 / i7 possible cheap CPU upgrade HP details

Edit: found on document it is a normal slot therefore you can do processor upgrades document here page 4

        • the cpu is ONLY available as LGA1150 w/ no embedded options so i would imagine any 45/54w whatever i5 in that range would be good

i dont like in VIc but if i was near these guys i'd get one since $99 isnt too much to spend to work out what to do with one of these

free Win10 inc. so whats the worst that can happen

also HP is pretty reliable as far as AIOs go

          • @tonyjzx: I should have left the investigating for you considering the angst in your answer.

  • Thanks I needed a new paperweight.

  • Reasonably crappy computer, great price!

  • I recently put a 1080ti into a similar specced machine a mate had, to see how bottlenecked it would be.

Turns out it still plays most modern games within 15fps of its up-to-date counterpart.

    • Is that good or bad?

      • +3

Surprisingly good, even games like Vermintide that are known to be CPU heavy showed the same sort of behavior.

Its certainly NOT going to be anything you'd recommend for gaming by a long shot.

        But it does prove something ive said for probably almost 7 years now;
"We're past the point of 'can it do it' with computers, its now just about 'how fast can it do it'."

        • Fantastic thanks for that.

    • But you wouldn’t be able to put a GPU in this thing would you?

      • It has a MXM slot but would be hard to find what would be a middling GPU for it.

      • +2

No, not in this form factor. I was just more interested in what that many generations of of CPU advancement would affect. And DDR3 vs 4.
it wasn't good, but It was certainly better than I predicted.

  • did anyone nearby get one, want to check stock, but can't reach them on the phone, don't want to travel all the way there and find no stock

    • You have to go in-store they won’t do it over the phone.

  • That is such a good price for an all in one!

    • yeh but its a refurb and only come with 30 warranty.. i rekon all of them are spud machines that die after 3-4 months.. if it doesn't come with an OS its not worth paying 180$ to get Windows on it.

      • +2

The hardware will have a Windows licence burned into it already. (Might even be Pro, these are probably ex-business machines.)

  • Does it come with Windows 10 PRO O/S as the image on FB suggests or not?

    • It should be new enough to have an OEM key burned into the UEFI, yes.

  • For $99, the specs aren't too bad. It has a 1080p display according to HP's website. Would make an okay browsing machine for the kitchen if you've got a spot for it.. you know, watch a bit of YouTube while you're cleaning up after a meal

    • as cheap or cheaper than a google home lenovo alexa view thingo and does more really

  • certainly an awesome machine to install hackintosh to make it an IMac

  • +1

It comes with win 10 pro. Centrecom responded in facebook post

  • is this a fast pc? Want to get something simple for my dad that is fast for his typing and research as his current i5-3rd gen laptop is quite slow and takes ages to load stuff

    • Slap on an SSD and it’ll fly.

    • any i-Series processor, with enough RAM (8GB+) and an SSD instead of a HDD, should NOT be slow for Web browsing, and OpenOffice work.

      • To add to my comment;
I have a core2 quad in my workshop, running LinuxMint (no special tuning) which boots in seconds, and has zero lag on web or office.

        Even light image editing.

Mostly it runs my 3d printer.

There's no reason an i-anything should lag on office/net.

It'll be ram, hdd, or background services.

  • Anyone found out if they will deliver?
