Free 'Where's My Water?' iPhone App Via The App Store Facebook Page

701

You have to like the App Store Page first, then use the URL above. Then click Get App now, it'll try to open iTunes afterwards to redeem the code, but you don't have to have iTunes installed onto the computer. Afterwards it'll appear with a Thank you for redeeming your code. In the description you have a code which you could redeem via App Store on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.
It worked without using a US VPN for me, unlike the Jetpack Joyride promotion.

    • +1

I redeemed my code using the App Store app on my phone.

Thanks OP, works like a charm!

    It works :)
Good game, and wouldn't mind paying the full 0.99 cent for it… but MEH~ free is better!

    Since this link is…
    http://apps.facebook.com/freeonappstore/getcode/54#=
I would predict the next free app on fb would be
    http://apps.facebook.com/freeonappstore/getcode/55#=

  • The code-generation page is not loading for me at all…

    • -1

Not sure what you mean…? Maybe try it again or use another browser?

      • Um i've done that. it was timing out every time. just started working again now. the server must've been down for a bit.

  • This is an enjoyable game for anyone.

Be careful people, by 'buying' into this promotion you are essentially providing a validated link between your app-store identity and your facebook identity - with obvious marketing and data-mining implications.

    • +2

Not for those of us that are smart enough to have a couple of fake Facebook Accounts, especially for these stupid FB giveways and "like" votes.

      • +7

Good on you, but I believe you are an exception rather than the rule. Most people would plough straight into such trickeries, while giving a link that will be used eons from now. One needs to more cynical about such promotions, when platform companies like Apple, Google, Facebook and like are concerned.

        • +1

it's merely a promotion to gain page fans. sheesh.

    • So how would that tie into me being able to generate as many codes as I like (by refreshing the page multiple times) then?

      • +1

Try generating the code while you are not logged into facebook.. after that you can put two and two together I believe.

        • It doesn't work when you're not signed in because it's a Facebook app, which is being used "To show [their] appreciation, [for liking their page]". ಠ_ಠ

    • +2

And? This is Apple, they won't send much spam.
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines
Too many people don't read the guidelines, if you want to warn people, then leave a comment and NO vote.
'If the deal doesn't apply to you, you don't like the company, you want to leave a warning for people about the business or deal, you might want to leave a comment and then not vote.'

      • -4

The operative word being "might" - I choose to exercise my brain and vote.

    • +2

that can be said with any free offers, free sample, etc etc. signing up for reward cards etc. or any deal essentially.
its good advice but dont deserve the NEG vote IMO.

      • Like I said, I'm all for free stuff n' promotions.. but we all need to be more mindful about platform companies, a case in point: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/11/secret-software-log…

        • And why would Disney and Apple risk a lawsuit for doing that? Also that is Android, where their marketplace is unmoderated. Apple checks through every app before they can be published into the Appstore. The App has also been out for a very long time.

        • +1

For one thing big companies, for the most part, don't fear toothless regulation - all they could ever get is a slap on the wrist with zero admission of guilt.

Also reassess your view of Apple, the Carrier IQ stuff was found in iOS too: http://www.theverge.com/2011/11/30/2601875/carrier-iq-refere…

For what's it worth, this couldn't have come without Apple's explicit inclusion unlike with Android where any partner in the chain could have added the Carrier IQ 'rootkit'.

  • Wow. Its working for me.

Interesting - After you have "liked" on FB, if you hit "refresh" or go back to that page you get a new code…

I wonder if they are valid - Somebody try these
    7NTMJ7AWEK4X
    E6YX6TTATTAX
    64Y9PXX94RYL
    9NTTMFR7PMXF

Open App Store on your machine. Scroll to the bottom and find the link to Redeem. Then enter the code.

They must be unique, so you better tell us which one you used so that other people don't waste time on it.

If they don't work, please tell us - after anybody replies to this post, I will not be able to edit it.

    • they do work; i was mass-generating codes over on the jetpack joyride promo I posted.

    • Thanks,
      7NTMJ7AWEK4X used

  • can confirm they work… have just redeemed 64Y9PXX94RYL

  • this is an awesome game. i just wish they update with more and more level.!

    • They just did.

    • They do.. once in a while. I updated a few weeks ago and it gave me a new box.

  • anyone have a jetpack joyride code ?

    • Would also like one for jerpack joyride!

  • I remember last time with the Jetpack Joyride code (thoroughly enjoying that game btw, haven't stopped playing lol) there was some difficulty for Aussie users but this one worked just fine. Although it was bringing up an error code in Google Chrome it worked fine in IE.

    Thanks OP! :)

  • Damn it, I bought this game, along with Jetpack Joyride. Both are great games though! :)
