  • Thanks but does it come with AUS warranty? My last router got fried in a lightning storm so I wanted to check

    • It would through Amazon at a minimum being the retailer.

    • Aus warranty won't cover electronic surge either.

Saw this earlier, but was confused by the picture. ASUS RT-AX58U comes with 4 antennas, AX56 with two

Bloody hell! I just brought this from Harvey Norman for $300. Oh well, least I get Aussie warranty.

  • This is sold out atm. I recommend getting the Australian stock anyway as I did a similar mistake in ac-68u, firmware flash and warranty just gets messy. It’s $279 at Bing Lee and most will price match / beat them.

    • Do you mind elaborating what you mean by it will get messy? Did you have a bad experience with routers from UK ?

      Thanks!

Sorry, wrote the reply below. Amazon has this disclaimer with UK/US ‘imports’

        International Product Variations and Warranties
International Products are marketed, distributed, and sold in the applicable source country listed in the table in this section but made available to you through Amazon.com.au. Consequently, some International Products may not be designed to the same specifications as Australian products and may differ from versions sold in Australia, including in their fit, default settings, age ratings, and language. Foreign versions of certain products, such as software and DVDs, may be region-locked against use in Australia. Manufacturer warranties may not apply in Australia and manufacturer service options may not be available in Australia, but you may have other rights under law. You are responsible for reviewing available product information to ensure that the International Product you are purchasing meets your needs and expectations.

If someone can clarify if we are fully covered when we buy from UK via Amazon AU or not. That would make life much easier for everyone.

        • Thanks for the replies P-d !

:) I guess I'll find out the hardway if there are isues

          • @benjoon: I'm sure if you had a DOA Amazon would come through.

            • @scottb721: Im not worried about doa. I’m more worried about it dying after a year like my last router.

              • @benjoon: Well hopefully better than what I would have got locally for the same money .

I bought one from US. It didn’t work out so replacing it took a long time. Asus routers are a bit hit and miss. I have 3 and 2 work fine and 1 was problematic. I have a RT-AC68U that I bought in Sweden and it’s still working there :) I had the trouble with RT-86U IIRC, but seems many did, check snbforums. The third one is a firmware flashed tm-1900, which works nicely.

I think this deal might be interesting and a bargain if all works out fine and they restock. I don’t think you need to flash aus firmware? I don’t use anything else then merlin. So you would get a great router for around $125? If you can stack zip and cash back.

Writing this on a mobile so there might be errors. In any case, because of experience and lots of overseas devices I have here that they don’t like to service, I prefer to buy local with ACL backing.

  • Price is now $165.02.

    • That's for the RT-AX56U

      • I see. Thanks.
I am looking for something that can boost and extend wifi signal. Neighbours gave me their password and ask me to use it.

  • Has anyone bought the australian version of the power adapter seperately from somewhere?

    • +1

We use 19v 1.6A powerpacks on our TV Ratings boxes at work so I'm hoping the plug from that fits.

    • Just checked out plug adaptors at Bunnings. Only $5 for UK to AU plug.

      • ah ok, I was going to try to find some genuine power plugs because it comes with separate 2 attachble US/UK plugs so i thought there might be a AUS one available. Nevermind. I just bought some generic travel adapters.

  • Despite the 30Dec shipping estimate mine's arriving this Monday, 7Dec.

    • Mine arrived a few days ago. Had some connectivity issues with packet losses. Disabled AX WIFI6 and installed merlin firmware and it's more stable now

      • Good to hear. What's the output rating on the powerpack ?

        • 19v 1.75a 33w

  • Mine just turned up. Unfortunately my powerpacks don't have the right size jack.

Interesting to note that the warranty information card includes Australian ACL rights. International warranty ??
