10% off sale ??
When stores like jbhifi and dse have their regular 10% off on apple.
Dick smiths has 10% off apple laptops at moment
Much better to get someone you know in Uni or TAFE to get the education discount from apple store and buy the latest model.
If you are getting an educational discount and you can wait a couple of months then you are much better off waiting for Apple's "Back to School" promotion (run every year so safe to assume it will run again). They normally have a "buy a Mac and an iPod Touch can be yours" campaign (they never use the word free although it is thrown in for free).
thought they were the new ones :( no deal
those 1.4 ghz just ain't powerful enough to do any thing proper. the new i5 core 11 are heaps faster. i suggest pay the extra few bux and buy new model.
The new model has much better CPU (i5) and backlit keyboard is back. It is better to go for the newer model.
The old model is still fine for general use. I put Windows 7 on a mate's Macbook Air - last year's model (bootcamp). The SSD does make Macbook Air feel smoother (faster bootup). Quick boot (on OSX) also helps. $899 for an old model might be slightly over-priced.
We own this and it is a great unit but the first thing I wished for when we got it was a backlit keyboard which they have now introduced so unless this price point is at your absolute max I would pay the extra for that feature alone.
Considering the new model is available, not a good deal
pretty lame reason for a neg
pretty lame response
Pot calling the kettle black?
These are old with C2D.
Much better off waiting for a 10% off sale and getting a new model.
The backlight keyboard in the new one is worth the extra $, without even considering the performance bump of the new one.
