I've got a Cooler Master H500 Mesh which looks to be a similar case, probably older version of this. It's great, airflow is excellent.

  • Can this fit the Noctua NH-D15 with fans slightly raised to fit the G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB Ram sticks? Specs says 165mm CPU clearance, which seems pretty tight for my scenario.

    • Honestly not sure mate. I only got mine delivered from last week's deal yesterday. Haven't built in it yet. Hopefully someone else can give you a hand in answering that one.

    • No. It would be higher then 165 with the trident z.

    • The NH-D15 is already at 165mm with the fan in the default position, which only gives 32mm of ram clearance (from Noctua website: https://noctua.at/en/nh-d15/specification).
You would need a total clearance of about 177mm to fit the 44mm Trident Zs.

  • Got this for $135 the other week, ugh…

The front 3 fans make a rattling noise when I put my ear up against it.

    • +12

Seems like an easy fix, just remove the ear.

    • +2

Tried tightening the screws in your ear?

    • I've had my eye on this case since the Gamers Nexus review. Been patiently waiting on a sale. Nabbed it last week for the $129 Delivered I linked to in the original post here. Now find it's $10 cheaper just a week later.

Hopefully others can take advantage of the new low price :)

I'm stuck deciding between this and the H500 mesh. I really like the big fans on the H500 but people say this is a better case. Thoughts?

Also the cheapest I see the H500 for is $170 while this is a good $50 cheaper.

I remember paying $200 for h500mesh. Overall speaking, the TD500 has better thermals according to gamersnexus. However under the same noise, the 2x200m fan of h500mesh is better than the triple fan layout of the td500. Looking at the stock fans, the TD500 is providing only the 3x120mm front fan, while the H500mesh has 2x200mm front fan and a 1x140mm rear fan. For optimized airflow, you want to add an extra fan at the back of TD500, not a huge investment. And to answer your question, I will go for H500mesh at this price point since it has a much better stock fans and better interior design.

I might be getting cases mixed up. But, from memory, Tech Jesus (gamers nexus) added an extra case fan to the rear of the TD500 as exhaust and it didn't help much.

Hesitating posting this in case I've got it completely wrong :P

Just skimmed the review vid again.

          • CPU temp 1 degree lower with exhaust fan added, within margin of error of testing.
          • GPU temp 0.4 degree lower with exhaust fan added, within margin of error.

@Jorgonaut: Thanks for that answer! I didn't notice when I checked the video

Dont think the H500 is worth $50 more than this though. The difference you're talking about is only about 1 or 2 degrees. I can understand spending $50 more for the look of the H500, but I wouldnt do so on the basis of better/more effective cooling.

        • Agreed. The H500 Mesh only really exists to serve the 200mm fan aesthetic.
Otherwise there are newer options that perform just as well for less.

  • Damn was watching gamer nexus videos before buying and it's outta stock. I guess I'll wait till after black Friday and pick up the H500 if it doesn't go on sale.

    • Oh that sucks. It looks like they still have in-store stock but have sold out online. Wonder if the stores would deliver it to you for free? Probably not :(

Online is now showing "Low Stock" again. Maybe someone cancelled an order so it might not last long with stock.

FFS knew this would get ozbargained on posting, good news is Amazon have just added stock, expect a sale on it tomorrow.

  • This has slots for 4x 2.5" SSD but only gives you tools to fit 2x at once, is there a way to get more?

  • For any one who is going to put a Corsair rm850x it's going to be very tight fit

    • How so? Corsair says it's the same size as the rm650x

      • It's pretty tight sliding the PSU with the cables plugged in. Scraped my rm850x a few times on the chassis. It fits but the cable room lacking. With a short PSU it's more roomy. Upgraded to a meshify 2 because of this.

Did you remove the first wall of the drive bay enclosure and the drive bays themselves?

The second drive bay wall (closest to front of case) is riveted in but the first (closest to psu), and the bays, can be removed to give more room.

        • RM850X is a standardised ATX PSU size, so presumably many power supplies will be tight. How often are you messing about with your PSU cabling for you to justify upgrading purely for this reason..?

  • Cooler Master NR600 is also on sale, $87 down from $109. Also a good performer (with additional front fan added) & I prefer the look.

  • Online showing as "Low Stock" now, a change from it going "Sold Out".

  • Sold out again for online purchases.
Low stock still in a couple of physical stores.

  • the cooler master h500p mesh is on sale at centrecom for 200 …very tempting

Back to low stock via online, I nabbed one as Amazon still haven't got a deal on it. Thanks OP!

    • Glad the post helped someone!

    • +1

Cheers for that. Just ordered one as well.

  • Now saying "In Stock" for online. Bumped up from "low stock".
