Dell Outlet is having a Black Friday (week) sale!

There is a LOT of stock on the outlet.. so I've provided a list below for what I consider "acceptable" in 2020 (for me anyway)

I've listed the below as examples of what can be found:
The criteria for the below list is as follows:

  • 8GB RAM or higher
  • 1920 x 1080 resolution or higher
  • At least an 8th gen intel CPU or higher/random assorted AMD
  • Has at least 1 x SSD
  • As New/Refurbished class.
  • Laptop (Desktops are not standouts for the DFO site)
  • At least 15% off discount or higher

Ticked associated as I work for a Dell Technologies subsidiary, but I have nothing to do with Dell computers (I found out about DFO via OzB and have made many many purchases through DFO). Me ticking the associated is sort of like working for Big W and posting a deal for Woolies catalogue.

General Guide to Dell Outlet:
As New = Orders made by customers, cancelled before it left Dell's warehouses (but already built)
Refurbished = Orders made by customers, cancelled during transit (rejected delivery), Returns (change of mind)/unhappy customers (Karens/other)
Scratch and Dent = Physically marked by previous customer's usage (I omitted from this list)

Remember, if you receive an item that does have issues, you are well within your right to exercise warranty (most (if not all) of Dell's warranty service is onsite after remote diagnosis)

Screen Resolution Abbreviations:
4K/UHD+ = 3840 x 2400
4K/UHD = 3840 x 2160
QHD+ 3200 x 1800
FHD+ = 1920 x 1200
FHD = 1920 x 1080
AG = Anti-Glare
InfEdge = InfinityEdge
Out-Read = Outdoor-Readable
SLP = Super Low Power
Wty DG = Warranty Downgrade, applicable to certain models only (resulting in similar warranty but cost savings)

Personal note: I believe the Latitude line are the best value items (plenty of ports, don't need to dongle city, excellent warranty, made to be serviceable as its business line)
But I understand most people will buy XPS line or other laptops because you can see them in JBHifi/retail stores

Any errors/issues, please call them out, I will try my best to fix it up

      Generous Dell Return policies is a main one (there's a 14 day change of mind one for new), Karens, refusal of warranty service with the customer only settling for refunds or replacement units, evaluation units (more for Latitude line and a handful), cancelled built-to-order units. Many reasons.

      I've assisted my friends and family to purchase over 15 laptops in two years, only one was a true lemon (almost 90% of the unit was replaced by great warranty so no biggie)
      Only a few had minor issues (Latitude keyboard QC is.. lacking) which were all fixed up warranty service

          The Refurbished items I've received have all been near new (they look new actually, check whirlpool or old Dell outlet threads in OzB to see the feedback), but then the ones I've bought have all been Latitude class.

          As New = The item never left Dell's warehouse, if the item has left Dell (even if its been a rejected delivery/cancelled order), it cannot be classed "As New"

          By that definition, if it's a unit that was returned to Dell within 14 days under change of mind, it'll end up in the "Refurbished" class.

          By the way I've seen one new model on Ebay from Dell cheaper than the refurbished one…

          That's definitely possible if there is 20% off + gift card stack for some models, and if it is the case, it should have been posted as a deal :D
          LiMaa's deal for the screen on Dell Ebay was cheaper than what I can get it for.

    Any of those laptops suitable for a 10 year old to play minecraft and roblox??? I know all about desktop GPU's but notebook GPU's confuse me

      If you need portability then get a 14" laptop with Nvidia MX330, for about $850
      If it's mostly just gonna be used at home then get a 15.6" laptop with Nvidia GTX1650, for about $850

          I'm not sure to be honest, I currently run a i5-8265u myself which has been fine, though the benchmarks make me question whether I should really go ahead on a new i7-10xxxU series unit.. (I am very very tempted)

          Awaiting for one Lati 9510 to reach my friend first before I hit the trigger myself xD

          Most user-noticeable difference is in the SSD not the CPU, the i5-8265u is a quad core, should be fine for most
