Great for kids doing work at school. Documents are usually stored on G Drive / Docs anyway, so storage isn't an issue. Purely workhorse laptop.

No point, most handphones can do that. If you want to do these tasks with laptop experience (ie keyboard , mouse and monitor), a Dex like docking station can do all that provided your mobile phone supports it
Not for a kid. You don't want a kid carrying all that stuff. A laptop is the simplest solution if it's for school.
