      • You may cancel if the order hasn't been shipped yet.

        • Just send a message through eBay?

        • Thanks. Dell ebay also offer 30 day full refund returns if the item is perfect condition and in original packaging.

          • @mandelbrot:

The seller is responsible for return postage costs.

            That is great.

        • Thanks. Done and dropped a message via ebay to cancel my previous order :)

    • Did you order on eBay? If so, How are you cancelling?

    • +2

      Go sell yours to u/fatcat83

      • The more I'm thinking about this 4k deal the less I feel bad about missing out on the S2721D

        I think I'll bite and get this S2721QS . thanks @ATangk

        • +1

4K by itself is good for media consumption, I just couldn't stand dragging windows across 1440p and 4k screens all the time due to their resizing. Switched to an all 1440p setup. 3 screens.

  • I've got my eye on either the P2721Q or preferably the U2721DE. Any word on deals for these?

    • No planned deals as far as I'm aware. Maybe in the new year.

  • Sweet price!!!

  • +1

2721D vs 2721q for mainly office work, occasional gaming and occasional tv shows/YouTube during lunch breaks .
    Thoughts?

  • I read Dimensions (WxDxH) - with stand: 61.16 cm x 17.47 cm x 40.01 cm

However, what I really need to know is the dimensions of the screen.

I have been wanting a 4K IPS monitor for ages, however, I need to fit it behind and raised above my laptop screen AND below a hutch, and have a gap 348 mm high to use.
Can anyone give me a measurement from the top of the monitor to the bottom edge of the display?

    Many thanks.

    • Hi sgltech,

From the top of the monitor to the bottom edge of the display is 345mm.

To clarify, this is measured from where the actual display starts at the TOP of the LOWER bezel to the Top of the monitor (upper bezel) on the S2721Q.

Let me know if this is what you're after :).

      Cheers

      • Perfect! Thanks! :-)

  • +5

Really happy with my S2721Q. I disagree that 27 inch is too small for 4k. Works well with the PS5 too

    • I have the QS. Let's be honest here. It is too small for 4K. The 100% scaling mode isn't something most people would use in Windows.

      • +1

I'm happy to scale and benefit from 4k gaming quality. At this price it's a no brainer

        • Price is great. 4K on this - honestly, it is mostly because it has that resolution. HDR on this monitor is subpar.
I do have issues with some of the apps not yet supporting native scaling in Windows properly.

    • +1

I completely agree with you. It's worth it for the text clarity alone.

  • I ordered a pair of Q's in mid Oct and after 2 stuff ups in the ordering side on Dells end I won't receive them until Christmas time! They said there wasn't anymore in the country and there's significant delays. This proves them wrong. I'm not happy.

  • @LiMaaa, May we know the model of the ultrawide that's coming up next week?

    • +4

Would you like my bank details as well? /s Hehe
      I can't, sorry.

      • AW3821DW … ? 😂

        • That's looking to be 2249 with a hardware gsync module, if LiMaaa by some miracle get that any cheaper it may explode my brain

    • Since in the previous post he hinted it was newly released, it's probably the P3421W.

    • +1

Likely U3818DW, op mentioned it'll be 38'' in previous comment.

    Hi Le.Maaa
How about a deal for the s2721ds?
    sale been promised in October
    Thanks

    • I too was waiting for s2721ds. Would be great if we can have a promo on this one for this black Friday. :)

    • +2

There won't be any deals this year on the ds, it's sent off to the brick and mortar retail market. Sorry. Everyone likes the D anyway.

      • Thanks Limaaa. And thank you for your great deals too. Missed the last deal on s2721D by a few minutes. :( By any chance will there be any more deals on that one, any time soon?

        • +1

          Not until the new year.

  • Can my cheap graphics card and Dell optiplex handle 4k resolution? Also have an old office dell laptop, can it handle dual 4k monitors (currently using two 1080 monitors)

    • +1

You can check your graphics properties through Windows to see if it outputs at 4k.
That doesn't mean it will run well though. It may get real choppy trying to run all the pixels. And dont expect to be able to run 4k video content whilst multi-tasking. You can multi task but the video likely wont run well.

At this price though, you could get this monitor and update your graphics card/computer at a future date.

      • Thanked for the reply, won't be able to update my office laptop. I have heaps of programs open at the same time so probably won't be able to handle it.

  • Any deals for new XPS laptops?

  • +1

Is this or the Samsung UR55 better?

    • Same question ^ UR55 used to be the cheapest 4K IPS monitor around.

  • +3

Mad props yet again LiMaaa - let's all not forget he's not even associated with Dell. This is the gold standard for OzBargainers!

    • +1

Well technically associated but not employed. Haha but thank you.

  • Damn, why did i buy it for 331 last time. Should have waited for a while.

  • Can these monitors run 4k netflix?

    • +1

Yes (assuming your graphics card supports it - resolution and HDCP 2.2).

      • Yeah I am planning on purchasing a 6800XT. Plan to use this monitor as a secondary - movies and shit

  • +1

Is this recommended for photography editing?

    • +1

      I found this: https://www.digitaltrends.com/monitor-reviews/dell-s2721sq-r…

"Dell quotes 99% coverage of the sRGB space, which is what you should expect most midrange monitors to do. Our testing confirmed this number, and we also measured 76% AdobeRGB coverage, and 82% of the DCI-P3 space. If you’re just using this monitor to browse the web and deal with basic office tasks, it’ll work fine.

You’ll have to look for a wide gamut monitor such as the Acer ConceptD CM2 if you need something to handle color grading in photography and video editing, or you’ll risk color clipping — a phenomenon where the colors might appear correct to you when they’re at the end of your monitor’s gamut, but end up looking more intense on someone else’s display, or in print."

      • Well, not necessarily. It depends on whether you gonna print or not. If you only share your photos online, like Instagram, Facebook etc, this would be enough as the extra colour will be clipped anyway.

I have UP21716D which covers 100% Adobe RGB. The obvious difference when comparing them side by side is that the vibrance and saturation of green colour. Red and blue show little difference, almost negligible. This new monitor is a tad brighter though.

  • +1

Does anyone have any experience using this monitor for video production or photography?

  • Will the ebay code void Cashrewards cashback?

    • +2

I think so, not listed on cashrewards/shopback.

    • +1

Get ebay gift cards. 3% shopback instant redemption i think, if you cant get better elsewhere.

      • Missed last deal cos was trying to use multiple gift cards. Not sure if I should risk it again.

        • +4

          I listed this somewhere else.
Buy small value items with large value gift cards, like $5 items with $200 gift card and it will link it to your account. When time comes to snipe things, just tick the box and buy. Its faster than all other methods of checking out :).

  • Bought one from previous deal but still yet to arrive, can I get a refund for the difference?

    • No as they are separate deals and Dell doesn't offer price match on sales.

  • I order one from the last deal in Oct and haven't received it yet (est. delivery is next week), I guess if I can snatch this deal I will cancel that order

  • S2721DGF or S2721QS?? I have a Predator X34P and want a vertical 27 monitor to pair with it

    • +1

Don't think its necessary to get a 144Hz vertical monitor. The DGF is a bit chunkier so probably better off the other one.

  • Is there any USB C monitor sales in the near future that you know of? Need that one cable setup!

Edit: saw the comment above, my bad

  • To the rep - any sensational laptop deals we should know about. Something around $1k

    • Not any I've planned but if you click on the Dell store on ozb there are a couple on sale currently.

  • Hi Limaa, can you help me out any way with customer service? Tried buying a refurbished S2721DGF for $480 off the site and got told it was OOS, but my money taken. Process has been a nightmare and I'm still out of pocket.

    • +1

Dm me with your order number.

  • Wanting to upgrade from a 24" Dell that's years old, but will mostly use it for general office use, web browsing, youtube, etc. No gaming use, and probs very little 4k use. My Dell laptop is also getting on in years, so dunno if my graphics card will run 4k. I missed the last deal on the 2721DS which would have been perfect. If I scale this to 150% will it be ok for general use, or am I better off waiting for another 1440 deal?

    • Confirm your Dell laptop can support 1440p via HDMI first. Then confirm whether it can support 4K@60Hz.

Just give you some context. Intel 7th gen core mobile CPUs can only achieve 4K/60Hz via the display port (using intel integrated graphics). If the laptop maker elected to wire just the HDMI port, you are looking at at best 4K/30Hz. For 8th gen, it gets a bit tricky, some laptop makers might wire a display port to a converter chip for HDMI to achieve 4K/60Hz, but most don't do that.

Obviously, if your laptop has AMD or nVidia graphics, the chance of 4K/60Hz support increases.

Please ensure your laptop or PC supports 4K/60Hz before buying this monitor.

  • No love for the 32inch versions?

  • Yo hive mind I'm thinking about using this as a display for my PS4 Pro / Xbox one x.

    Should be decent yeah?

    • +1

      Should be fine yes.

  • +1

Is this offer also going to be available on the dell website? I have a $30 coupon I want to use

    • No, only via ebay.

      • Thank you

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • When will be 7 o'clock?

    • +14

When the small hand is on the seven.

    • +2

User name does not check out LOL ;-)

  • If I'm running a 1440P screen besides this, can I use scaling only on the 4k monitor so that they're the same?

    • You can individually scale monitors on windows, so yes.

  • +2

We need more upvotes for Friday!

  • +2

This deal is great, I paid 300+ for s2721Q just a couple month ago. Once you are on 4k, you can't go back to 1080p

  • Should I buy S2721D or S2721Q?

    • Ask yourself do you prefer 2k or 4k,there is your answer.

      • I will rephrase. I bought S2721D in the last deal, now if I upgrade to S2721Q, is there much a difference? I do not game, only office work. But I do enjoy crispy text though. I have never seen a 2K or 4K before. Poor me, I am stilll on 1080.

        • Buy and try. Sell the one you don't like.
At this price you won't make much loss if not profit.

        • For work, I still use 1440p based display. Yes, 4K @ 150% scaling can make texts look smoother, but 4K @ 27 inch doesn't really let you fully appreciate 4K (coz at 100%/1:1, the pixels are just too small). Another issue I have is I do have some older apps which don't work so well with app scaling.

However, it is hard to resist 4K, especially at this price. You probably have some 4K devices already. Do bear in mind that you will need decent HDMI cables to do 4K/60Hz. You do get one from Dell.

          • @netsurfer: Thank you so much for your reply. Still thinking. :)

            • @jingsu6688: Just some additional info for you (as I've done a few more quick tests):

              • For apps which support display scaling, the texts do look nicer. So, if you basically use the latest Web browsers and the latest Office 365 or latest Office apps, you will most likely prefer 4K with 150% display scaling.
              • For apps which doesn't support display scaling properly, on 27 inch 4K, they can and quite a number of them do display incorrectly (the app could remain in 100% - so looks too small or some parts of it is scaled and some parts aren't).
              • You generally need better quality cables (both HDMI and DisplayPort cables) to get 4K/60Hz.
              • Make sure your graphics card supports 4K/60Hz. If you don't have a graphics card and rely on intel embedded graphics, be extra careful and verify it supports 4K/60Hz.
      • Will 32inch 4K go on to sales soon? They must be like $400+ even after sales.

    • imo the S2621D is perfect on 27". 4k on 27" inch is small as ppl have suggested in the comments. You'd have to scale it at least 150-200%+ to notice a difference and even then the 1440p will still be comparable.

  • Are these better spec wise than S2719DC?

    • They are different. This one, you basically just want a cheap 4K monitor. It does quite a few nifty tricks in firmware (to emulate HDR, has free sync support). QS has a height adjustable stand.

S2719DC - it has some features which are somewhat enticing quality of life improvement. USB-C/PD (though only 45W). The USB-C/USB 3.0 downstream (due to only 1440p for display, allowing sufficient bandwidth on data without needing to support thunderbolt 3 bandwidth). HDR600.

Reality: both did cut corners in areas, but the price and the feature sets are enticing enough for most people to commit to either deal.

      • Thank you for the reply.

I recently got the S2719DC for the USB-C connection.

Seems like there is not much in it for the screen quality although this one is 4K so I'd imagine it's slightly better.

        Happy with my initial purchase.

  • Is this good for video editing or is the colour accuracy shit?

    • It has 99% sRGB

    • I found this: https://www.digitaltrends.com/monitor-reviews/dell-s2721sq-r…

"Dell quotes 99% coverage of the sRGB space, which is what you should expect most midrange monitors to do.
