Why buy these… at all? That's the only question that needs to be asked.
Because the quality on a wired connection rips Air Pods to shreds. And when used with a Mac, audio quality in VC is 10x better.
No I'm saying, why would you ever buy Apple earphones or Air Pods? The sound quality is garbage on either. Literally anything else at or around this price point will sound better.

A lot of people struggle to get a comfortable fit from in-ear designs. And others find it uncomfortable for long periods of time.
According to most reports battery life in wireless earphones halves in 2 years. Dont wanna be watching a movie half and not hear the rest.
Apologies - mistake.. Apple AU sells at $29. Theory is that demand dictates price… Hence, these must be in significant demand.
