Go way beyond the usual winery restaurant experience.

I mean, it sounds nice but it's still just lunch with wine.

    • +5

That's ok if you don't perceive any additional value. :-)

A privately hosted experience by a sixth generation winemaker in their private residence amongst some of the most renown private gardens in South Australia and an award winning vineyard producing a 99 point Cabernet Sauvignon.

And you are right though, there's food and wine and lots of it :-)

      Cheers!

"once in a lifetime". What if you want to go twice?

    • +1

Then perhaps, twice in a lifetime! :-)

    • Exactly what I thought, bad marketing point of view in the long run.

To give you a serious answer, I don't expect it would be the kind of experience that most would repeat. Because it is so patently different to a standard winery restaurant experience, I'm not sure it would be something people would repeat.

Unlike a winery restaurant, it's also not scaleable. One dining event per day exclusively for one group and not operating everyday - limited, therefore, in its nature.

It's hard to explain my reasoning in the confines of a discussion board but you should feel welcome to call me on 0433 166 181 if you'd care to discuss further.

        Cheers! RD :-)

Aussie wines are getting smashed due to issues with the Chinese. Good to see them looking for new ways to generate income and create new experiences. Voted this up due to the associated replies. Keep up the good work.

Hi Parko - thanks for the kind words. It's about innovation and engagement, conceptually designed way back in March. It's a unique offering to my knowledge in the Australian wine tourism space. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Interesting idea, and I can see the appeal, but a bit too pricey for this economic climate.

    • Hi @Sullie.

Premium experience, premium price point. Domestic tourism and wine tourism are growing sectors at the moment in this market. It's not a mass market product, will have niche appeal to a small number of highly engaged wine enthusiasts. As I mentioned in a previous comment it's simply not scaleable either, hence that also feeds in to the price point.

Interestingly, MTA Travel have it nicely packaged up with some accommodation as part of their 'Once in a Lifetime Experiences'. This might offer better value for some.

I can't go as I'm in WA, but I'd consider it. I'd want to see the menu. I'm quite sure I could get a few others who would consider this to be value due to the exclusivity. I wonder if it might be beneficial to offer free rt transfers to local accommodation and/or value transport to the adelaide cbd.

We've got a mostly cancelled gourmet escape coming up in Margaret River and it seems very few think of how people are going to get home. I know from experience that sometimes it's just scarcity/non availability of reliable guaranteed transport at any price that's the deciding factor.

    • @voteoften thanks for the comment. Menus are seasonal and local. We work with each guest to curate a personally tailored menu going beyond dietary requirements to explore likes, dislikes and preferences.

Always happy to put guests in touch with other service providers including transfers and/or accommodation or speak to an independent travel agent. McLaren Vale well serviced by either private hire vehicles, taxis and Uber.

Once the borders are open again, you could package it up with MTA Travel to include accommodation next door to Tipsy Hill. No need for transport then - just a torch for a walk home :-)

All the best there in WA.

      Cheers RD :-)
