I'll be the first to mention that Android 4 is out and is the new minimum benchmark that Android Tablets should be aiming to run - True Tablet oriented OS

  • better cpu than you normally find in a no name tablet plus screen is capacitive but does it really sell for $278?

    • It doesn't sell for 278. Once again this is those faux-bargains. I can sell a pen for $500 and can still say that it's a steal considering I used to be selling it for $5000. Does this make it a bargain? No.

      • where is 800 x 480 HD?
        it's the same res as a 4" phone…
may as well put the $140 towards a new phone

    • No. There are plenty of models on various website with the same specs at around $150. So it's still an OK deal, but unless you were already planning on buying a no-name outdated Android mini-tab there's nothing to see here.

    • one thing i've noticed happen on ebay now and then is that sellers like to take the cpu and gpu speed and add them together… which is a rather nasty little trick.

Though now i read a bit about it, i dont believe they're doing that here..

  • Wopad i7

No GPS, no 3G etc. and don't expect much in the way of support (particularly questionable if it will get ICS). However a chinese stuff goes, it doesn't look that bad, although no decent reviews out there.

  • I would just like to lol at the title…. "CPU 1.2gmhz"

  • Always be worried when the website doesn't identify the product/brand. I think (based on the brand name shown in the photo of the back - again, why don't they want you to know what model it is?) this is something like the product reviewed at http://the-gadgeteer.com/2011/01/17/wopad-wr701-7-capacitive…, so don't expect to play Angry Birds, run it for a day without recharging, and possibly even email from it.

  • From my past experience with branded (Galaxy tab) and chinese non branded tablets, better stay away from any chinese non branded tablets because their software and customer support suck. You end up wasting your money even if it's cheap.

  • again with unknown brand tablet

  • Understandably you all have pretty low standards of these noname brand tablets. But if you do your research you can find extremely good value tablets from them. Obviously theyre not without their flaws, but at that price if it works fine and does what its supposed to do it's fine. This ones the WoPad i7 - RK2918 Chipset with Vivante GC800 GPU, there's a growing community behind it aswell at slatedroid.com and from what I've read from reviews has pretty decent battery life (6 hours) and excellent media playback. The tablet I went for was also another nobrander, but I did thorough research as to which was the best for me. I got the RENA3 - Dual Core Cortex A9 Renesas EMV2 Based tablet with SGX530 GPU, Amazing battery life. With moderate use with wifi on I get 8-10 hours battery life. Growing community and consistent manufacturer firmware releases (about one every month or so).

    tl;dr

Not all chinese OEM brands are crap, this is a decent price too as it goes for about 160$ on DX.

  • +2

i'm suprised people keep posting deals on these non-name-brand tablets
i'm not saying they are all rubbish - some of them are probably good value
just that every time they are posted the deal gets hammered
I think the general view is that the market is so competative there is no need to run to these…

  • But can it run Hamilton 95 44bit OS?
Does it have native support for CPP (Carrier Pigeon Protocol)?

Android OS4 still hasn't caught up to ham95

  • Not a bargain for the quality

  • Weren't these like $99 a year ago?

  • LOL.

  • We were selling these units with the same "spec" with a 10" screen on ebay for $99 to clear because they were so shit - i wouldnt even use it myself
