Limited time offer: Receive 50,000 Bonus Membership Rewards Points when you apply online by 27 January 2021, are approved and spend $1,500 on your new Card within the first 3 months. T&Cs apply. New Card Members only.

Annual fee $195
Annual travel credit: $200 (if you hold the card)

This is a pretty good deal if you're looking for an entry-level Amex card. I value 50,000 MR points at roughly $250 (transfers to 25,000 airline miles).

  • Not bad. But it's hard to use the travel credit at the moment though.

    • I've been using my travel credits on staycations and domestic flights. They generally are easiest to use on simple A-B routes. (I'm in WA).

  • Better bonus points than when i first got this card 5 years ago.

Points are now worth half the value since they made the bs change last year, travel credit useless atm also noticed hotel rates aren’t competitive like they used to be, credit bonuses from certain stores is ok but noticed Harvey Norman not participating anymore, not that great of a card

  • I had to cancel my explorer card because of travel restrictions. Could not justify $400 annual fee without being able to use the travel credit and the intl lounge access. But will def get it again maybe in 2022.

  • FYI: If you use the referral link at the moment - it is $150 cash back for $1500 spend in 3 months rather than the bonus points.

The points are more valuable if you can actually travel.

Bonus points are worth min $250 when converting to points to pay
