Advantages of the 501-49 over the 501-33 (or other comparable 2 stage sit stand desks) are:
3 stage leg provides increased stability & height adjustability. Weight capacity is higher. Cylindrical columns looking cool is a plus.

  • Price in title please, OP.
Looks like the discount brings it closer to the IKEA desks, but they come with a table-top. Any reason to choose yours over theirs?

    • +7

Thanks for the reminder. Looks like a mod has added the price to title for us, thanks mods!

      Reasons to choose our desks:

      Practical reasons
*Easy assembly (the desks come partially assembled)
*Max load is 30kg more than Ikea's Bekant sit stand desk
      *3 frame colours available
      *Better range of desk widths

      Feelgood reasons
*You're supporting a family run, locally owned Aussie company.

      • +1

I appreciate the feel good reason. Where are the desks made?

        • +1

Conset are based in Denmark but distribute their products globally. The desks are made in China as per pretty much everything else electronic these days. If there was a locally made and reasonably priced alternative you can be sure we would stock it.

If you're looking to support local, some of the locally made products we sell include:

          Fundamentals Footrest (made in Australia)
          https://www.ausergo.com.au/products/fundamentals-footrest

Microdesk Document Holder (made in New Zealand)

Single motor plus no memory profiles doesn't seem very good value.

    • The value is in the fact that this is cheap for a 3 stage leg, not your entry level two stage leg. 3 stage legs are more stable and have a better height range.

  • Do you have actual photos of the products not just CAD rendering?
Is the table top a laminate or actual wood?

  • I am currently in the market for one. I am gonna pull the trigger for Artiss Roskos 3 which is 140x70 cm. Catch price is 488 plus shipping. Max weight loss is 100 kg. It’s a twin motor as well. Is this any better? Sorry haven’t looked at all the specs as I am at work.

    • Twin motor is not necessarily better, its just one extra part that can fail. Better off looking at the warranty for indicators of quality. I dont seem to be able to find any information about the Artiss warranty but I may just be blind.

The Artiss leg is only 2-stage vs. the Conset 501-49 3-stage leg. This means the 501-49 has a better height range of 63-123cm vs Artiss 72-122cm.

3 stage legs also tend to be more stable than 2 legs due to the nature of construction.

      • +1

Thanks for the response. Agree with everything except that’s one extra part to fail. Well, going by what you say wouldn’t it be better to have 2 when the other one fails?

        • +2

If one motor fails on a one motor desk, you can't use the desk.

If one motor fails on a two motor desk, you still cant use the desk as only one side would go up. Given that you have two motors on your desk you're essentially doubling your chances of part failure.

None of which matters if you're backed by a good warranty which will replace the desk regardless. I really am struggling to find any mention of Artiss' desks warranty, all I can say is that Conset desks have 5 years warranty which is good for electronics and on par with most home appliances.

          • +2

@Ausergo: Thanks for clearing up. Didn’t think that way.

      • +1

Wouldn't two motors share the load?
        Working half as hard?
        Lasting twice as long?

  • a single motor and no memory profile. This is not a deal.

    • +3

Not if they're the only things you care about when you're looking for a desk.

Single motor is not "worse" than dual motor, if it's a good motor. All Conset desks are shipped with a 5 year warranty (including all electrics).

The 501-49 is the top of Consets range and includes a 3 stage leg (most cheap sit stand desks are only 2 stage as someone mentioned above). 3 stage legs are normally more expensive than 2 stage legs, this is a very good price for a 3 stage leg.

      • Where is the warranty information on your website?

        • +1

The warranty for each product is listed on the individual product page.

          • @Ausergo: Don't see any for the frames?

            • +1

@pizzaofpeace: It's there, but as an image rather than text. Look to the right of the specifications
              https://www.ausergo.com.au/products/conset-501-49-sit-stand-…

We'll add it as text as well.

              • +1

@Ausergo: haha, I see it now! It looked like the 4kids logo.

Just wondering, what's the desk material made out of? If it's decent, will grab one (assuming the omnidesk doesn't go on sale!)

                • @pizzaofpeace: I never noticed that logo similarity before now!

The tabletop is chipboard with melamine laminate and ABS edging. Standard office furniture fare. The desk frame is powdercoated aluminium.

Alternatively you can buy just the frame and add your own tabletop, this is a pretty popular option too. Sale ends today.

  • After months of searching, I finally got the Matrix from Officeworks (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/matrix-exe…). It has been only 2 weeks but really very impressed.

That weird assembly in the middle would drive me nuts! Or rather, it would drive INTO my nuts if I were sitting.

      • lol unless your nuts were on top of knees, you'll be fine.

    • single motor ?

    • Does the motor get in the way, being in the middle?

      • Not at all. Single motor yes but for me it does the job perfectly. And for reference, I am 6 ft and my legs reach under where the motor sits with the table set on 75cm (min 71cm) yet it doesn't touch at all. YMMV but works really well for me.

    • Good desks, I have the manual version of the same and it's solid.

  • +3

i was researching about standing desk recently and finally settled on option 4 on this link https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/new-aim-pty-ltd-135

really good quality. dual motor with preset for around $350 shipped (frame only)

    the brand is artiss

  • Can I use the 172cm fixed rail and put a 220cm table top?

    • You could do it, as long as you're fine with having the tabletop overhang the frame by 24cm on each side.

  • Will the frame support a L-shape desktop up to 110CM deep? Like this one from IKEA: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/bekant-right-hand-corner-table-…

    • There is a 3 leg model of the 501-49 although Conset have not flagged it for sale. I will chase up with them for a price on this model and get back to you ASAP.

      • Hello again, Conset have just confirmed there are no 3 leg adapters left for the 501-49 so unfortunately this frame would be unable to support an L-shape top. My apologies!

  • Looks like $30 shipping fee to Perth Metro area (there's a reference to free metro shipping in the post)

    • Free metro shipping excludes Darwin and Perth (as per the product listing) unfortunately as all stock is located on the east coast.

  • I would rather pay $200 more for a Linak dual motor unit.

  • +1

Got one! Seems like a good deal. If you ever run out/discount your memory preset controller as well be sure to post it on Ozb ;) It's not a dealbreaker for me but would be cool to add it on later.

    • +1

Thank you! You'll be the first to know if the preset controllers go on sale.
